I think this set is my favourite of your D Day builds Andy. Love the subject of the models and the way you've finished them. A really lovely build Andy, credit to you mate, your skills have improved tenfold! Not so much the novice anymore! Thanks for the updates. Look forward to more.
    Be seeing you.....

Thanks Bobby, i have previously stated that my aim is to change the channel name in a couple of years to "Mediocre Modelling and the Midlife Crisis" that'll do me. I kinda like the little amphibian jeep, so much so that i have a 1/35 version on the way.

Hi Andy. I have just recently finished the Harley myself. To get the best out of that kit you will need to do a dark wash over the engine and then a light coloured dry brush over the bodywork , it breaks up the drab . I did all of the cables on mine , yes bloody fiddly. But it adds more detail. As for the amphibian well I haven,t built mine as yet. Most of them went to Russia so maybe I will make mine as that. And there was no glazing in this kit , so you can use some clear accetate that you gind on some packaging ok. Well done mate , they look nice. The small guns were nicknamed 'Doorknockers' by the G.I.s. They are 30.cals. The bigger one on the M3 is a 50.cal. Nasty bastard. Good job mate.

What do you use for the cables????????????

Hi Andy. I use fine copper wire for my cables. The next time you see an old broken stereo lying around pick it up take it home and open it up. In there you will find different gauges of wires. Take them out and use them for your cables. Also when you pass one of those green telephone junction boxes on the pavement look around them. There is always some discarded cables left behind by the engineer. I hope that helps.

The aim is to achieve mediocre status. That'll do me fine.

Hey Andy, I have to say you have acquainted me with a lot of 1/72 kits I never knew were made. In the "old Days" almost everything armour was in 1/35. Plus very little in 1/48 so making dioramas see really difficult. I do live that motorcycle, it reminds me of Steve McQueen in the Great Escape, although the Germans didn't ride HD' s :-) Must have been BMW's . Pretty soon you'll have to take the Novice out of your title, your doing a stellar job. Cheers Bob

LOL the plan is in a couple of years to change the channel name to mediocre, i'll be pretty happy with that. As for kits i think if you look around there are so many different kits available its almost ridiculous. I have always considered myself to be a little odd and obscure, consequently i have found myself becoming more and more interested in the odd and obscure and in my opinion interesting kits. will start showing and building a few that i have in a month or so.

Hi buddy. Sorry to dissappoint you but the bike that Steve McQueen rode in the Great Escape was a Triumph. One of the bikes used in the film is at the Triumph visitor centre in England.

@@BrianSanders-tn7pi OMG, a British bike in an escape from a German POW Camp, that could go in one of those videos that shows what the audiences missed. I haven't seen the movie in a while, I bet Andy has it. I thought Steve took it from a German, however the camp was in Poland so maybe the Triumph made its at to Poland. Before the war. . The mystery of history or Hollywood :-)

@@c123bthunderpig Hi. It was a British bike in reality but for the story it was supposed to be a German bike. Steve McQueen had a passion for British bikes ,particularly Triumphs. He intended to do the stunts himself so he chose his bike to do them on and it was modified to look like a BMW. It also has an extra padded seat for his own physical protection ( if you know what I mean ). But the studio decided that it was to dangerous for him to do some of the jumps so a British stunt rider did them instead. But Steve did do all the rest of the riding himself. I hope this helps. Regards.
