- This is my piano arrangement of "Kind Memories" from Secret of Mana, composed by Hiroki Kikuta.
Today ten years ago I created my UA-cam account. I would like to thank everyone who is still around, who still watches my videos, who still believes in me and who still supports me after the many bad times. Needless to say the last ten years didn't go as I would have liked them to go, but all I can say now is that in the grand scheme of things, I am on a good path.
This track is pretty much the definition of nostalgia - it's one of those rare pieces that ooze with that emotion from the get-go. I think a lot of that might be lost when not having the original instruments which really, IMHO, make this track. The entire OST is very special to me and considering the occasion, I felt it was about time I started playing more of it.
We're blessed to have you, man. You're an inspiration for many. Thank you for being with us for 10 years.

This almost sounds like something that came from your extended arrangement on your other channel, can’t remember the title, but it was the one that included Maridia, Waterfall, and Aerith’s theme I believe.
I went back to listen to it again the other day and I was sad to find that it was no longer there.

Hi, that was "A Wish", this one sounds kinda similar but is a different piece. That medley is still there, it's in the unlisted videos playlist, I just haven't moved it over here yet. Don't know yet when I'm gonna do that. Thank you for remembering that video.

A sweet and elegant arrangement! Those beautiful notes fall like snow. Congrats on ten years-- it's still good to have you back and if that bit at the end of the description is any indicator, I'm so excited to anticipate SOM arrangements from you!! It's an amazing and varied soundtrack. Are there any tracks you're especially considering? I feel like there's so much good material to choose from that it's like arriving at a buffet of all your favorite foods! A lot lends itself really well to piano, too. The Ice Forest theme was the first I'd learned from this one, waaay back in middle school. If I had to peg you for one for starters, it might be Eternal Recurrence, but The Wind Never Ceases also feels like a great fit, and is less covered. Just a guess! So curious. xDD
Also just a reminder (or maybe I missed it!) but let me know if and how I can throw some support your way. I've had your arrangements playing all morning and they put me in such a good mood. :)

Yes I love the SoM soundtrack dearly, it's taken me a long time to start playing it but it definitely has some deeper meaning to me so you can be sure I'll play more from it when the time is right. I like both of the tracks you mentioned. Have you played Seiken Densetsu 3, or Trials of Mana? I was surprised to find the music did not live up to my expectations. It is such an important part of SoM that I really felt disappointed, in comparison.

@@Verdegrand I haven't; I'm a bit more familiar with the music than the game, and felt underwhelmed by what I heard. Legend of Mana, on the other hand, felt pretty strong to me as a soundtrack. For me, it was the highlight of the game-- that and the cute fruit. Really ran on charm! I eventually caved and hunted down the sheet music book off of Amazon Japan. So worth it!
@@throwitallawaynow1 Yeah the Legend of Mana soundtrack, from what I know, was composed by Yoko Shimomura, and that is a departure from the rest of the series. The game itself also looks really interesting. Checked out a review of it a while back, it offers a lot of freedom. For me personally I don't know if I wanted to sink 100 hours into playing such an open game, I personally prefer linear stuff. Thank you for bringing the soundtrack book to my attention, was not aware there was a collection. Nice.
@@Verdegrand I find it more of a casual/relaxing sort of play, not at all something I would seek out for plot. Despite the dimension of freedom in it, it feels episodic and focused on smaller things-- even the shoe-in 'main' branches didn't really emotionally involve me. That said, I enjoyed it! Definitely all about the music on that one though. Mostly unrelated, have you played the original Breath of Fire on SNES? I'd recommend a listen if you haven't.

Thank you for saying that. An album is a nice idea, but first I want to find back into a solid routine. It is good to know though that I have viewers who are asking for this and who want to support me.

@@DarkSynx Yeah that's what I suppose he means - selling anything related to my arrangements and covers requires certain steps to be taken beforehand, and I am working towards making sure this can happen. Maybe - I feel like even though this is a serene piece, the original has a lot of energy in it.
