Longtime Vegas/southern Nevada resident, I love the Red Flag exercises. The constant roar of these planes is a pleasurable experience.
@@joseantoniomartin3155 Yikes! no way
Spent the last 5 years of my AF career at Nellis AFB, mostly on the Tonapah, Tolicha Peak and Dreamland ranges with occasional stints to China Lake, Ft Erwin and Cuddyback ranges. During that 5 years our small detachment of 10 to 14 people provided Red Force Electronic Warfare support to all the Red Flag & Green Flag exercises. I also worked in "foreign material" exploitation of equipment out government managed to acquire. Over that 5 year period I actually spent 3 years of this time out on the various ranges sleeping in flea bag motels and working 1 6 to 18 hour days. Although it was hard on my family life I would not trade that assignment for anything else. This video sure did bring back memories.
Greetings from Germany🇩🇪 and stay healthy😷

The Eurofighter is beautiful!
Such a good jet - with the recent RAF upgrades it just keeps getting better and better.
All jets here are incredible beautiful but the Eurofighter it's probably the most capable plane in there, it's incredible agile, fast and the sound its so unique
The Rafale is more beautiful and usefull but the Typhoon is still a great plane yeah.
I have to agree, the Rafale looks like a sportscar, compared to the EF. But the two intakes under it's nose makes the EF looks more aggressive
In terms of looks, for me, nothing beats the F-16. The EF is a bit boxy for my taste. The Rafale looks better. The F-35 is growing on me as well, at least from certain angles.
Wow! I've been to Red Flag in a B-52D and I flew in the B-52H #1012 when we transitioned to the H models! Fantastic! I already had tinnitus before going to the BUFFs, but I'll bet they didn't help. :-D
Panavia Tornado Old but gold 😍🤩🤩
In 1981-83 while stationed at LRAFB. I had the opportunity to go TDY to Operation Red Flag. We would take 5 of our 314th MAC C130's. The pilots one day ask if I would like to fly along on a sortie with them. Hell yeah I jump at the chance. It was cool looking out the cockpit windows and seeing the fighter escorts on all sides. On the way out to the drop zone, the pilots practiced low level flying. Me being a rookie in the AF didn't know that C-130 could pull G force like they were flying in and out the mountains. The pilots had on G suits but not me. I didn't get sick but came damn close. When we got back to the hotel I brought the rounds all night for the pilots. That was a great time they had treated me to with the fly along. Something I will never forget.

German Tornados look so cool!
Björn Nordström yee i really liked the look of all these 2 seaters in line.
Yes, Shame the RAF have just retired theirs and replaced them with the F35 and Tornado
Mr Frisky you of course mean replaced with F-35 and Typoon
@@KeithGadget Yep - cheers
Shame then that most of the Germans fighter jets are unable to fly ain't it. Just like most of their armed forces are unusable for that matter
Love the Spaniard typhoons ❤️
Can’t believe the 52s are still in service
I miss my FCC brothers and sisters. THANK YOU FOR KEEPING US IN THE SKY
Nothing sounds better to me than a Euro-Fighter Typhoon!!!! Amazing Jet🇬🇧💪🇺🇸✈🔥🌊
This was a great video of some great looking ( and performing..!! ) planes; I enjoyed every minute ( heck..every second..!! ), of it..!! But the incredible ( still..!! ) B-52...Wow...!! It's was like..." Okay, children, let's go play, but Grand-Pa will be there to see how everyone is doing.."
Tornado is a beast
JUST. AMAZING!!!! I HAVE
SOOOO MUCH. RESPECT...🙏😇
Nice camera work, all looking awesome.
I love the Tornado GR4. If you need to go low and hard.....
Yeah, we Germans are up-to-date. Same with fighting CCP Virus and tolerating a people hating ignorant leftist Government. Have a blessed Sunday!
German pilot in a Tornado documentary: "After half an hour flight you get used to fly lower than 100ft." 😊
Do not retire the Tornado. It is one bad-assed airplane!
If you are talking about the GR7’s they are already on the way out
@@machinegunnasty1124 theres no such thing as a tornado gr 7
@Lloyd Benson sorry I must of mixed up the names or confused it with something else. I’m not an aircraft technician yet. I think it’s the GR 4. I’m not sure though
Yes. But too old..unfortunately.
@@machinegunnasty1124 if it were RAF then yes it would be GR4, GR7 was a variant of the harrier, the german version of the GR4 is called the IDS
Amazing pictures very nice angles > Awesome.
Looks like about the same day(s) I was there. Would love to see more!
Excellent composition! So many beautiful aircrafts!
These Tornados 3:29 are so damn sexy and radiate pure power and determination. For me the equivalent to the Tomcats
Yeah..the air intakes reminded me of the F14.
@SirBender so sad to see them go..... bloody budget cuts
Machine gun Nasty it’s not about the budget, but about their ability to stand in modern war... The Tornado is just too old...
@SirBender I would keep em 😂 but yes time moves on
The Problem with the Tornado is that the newest planes in the german fleet are 30 years or older. At the Moment some german Tornados were overhould to keep them in service for something about the next 5 years. But that means that every airplane is in the hangar at Airbus for 350 days.
I miss my days in the Air Force. 1971 1992
Pablo Martinez... I was U.S. Navy enlisted and in an ECM land based squadron from 71-75. We had 4 of the Navy version of your B-66 ( A-3 Skywarrior), two F-4's, four A-4's, and one beautiful EC-121 Super Constellation. I was a Plane Captain for our A-3's and loved it..!! But I was "young & dumb" and all my best friends were getting out and so I just followed suit. But once you get to work around and be out on the flight line with the aircraft, it just gets in your blood and never leaves..!! I have been talking to my 13 yr. 'young' Granddaughter about considering going Air Force...y'all always had the best of everything ( at least that's what it seemed to be..LOL..!! ), and even though I was U.S. Navy, I would much prefer to see her in the A.F.
Wow F-35 look amazing
I was surprised to see the Panavia Tornado and Eurofighter Typhoon at Nellis AFB.
Wow, thankyou for a great video. Most of my favourite jets are featured here. I must say that I love the venerable but awesome B52, I am always intrigued by the take off. At the point of take off, there doesn't seem to be any particular rotation like other aircraft, no visible nose up pitch. The old lady seems to just suddenly detach herself from the runway and then continues to gain altitude with her fuselage remaining resolutely parallel with the surface of the planet! How on earth does she do this? Respect and admiration from the UK
I spent 6 years servicing them, reparing them, launching them. Just a tiny bit of nose up does it.
"Yeah..we got spiked right at the MOA so we came back. Where's the beer?" - Buff pilot RTB early
With Red Flag going on, has there been any update to flight restrictions at the Jedi Transition? (Flights through there were often a part of Red Flag training.)
Nice vid
Damn...B-52 still going strong...After all theses years...(Phan Rang Airbase...Vietnam...1971...Home of the F-100D...)
RbSims one Iranian missile do the job 😄😄
My dad used to crew aggressor tail number 251 back in like 02-06 or sometime around there.
Very cool seeing these planes fly. They were in Michigan at selfridge flying last weekend, I was wondering what they were doing in Michigan. They I thought had to be some kinda of training
A little inspiration for the future. A 14 year old boy in isolation playing all parts of Bohemian Rhapsody @lrtM
8:14 - not the 'economy' option B-52!
Exercise Red Flag is a two-week advanced aerial combat training exercise held several times a year by the United States Air Force, nice ceremony by US Air force to show an advancetage of power air force
The F-16 at 10:55 and the Eurofighter at 11:40 both had their gear up instantly upon leaving runway. Imagine having all these Hombres in one spot, watching each other, and showing their stuff?!
You can actually see the Eurofighters Typhoon parked at Nellis AFB on Google Maps/Earth via Satelite view. Also a couple of Tornados.
I supported BUFFs flying bomb missions out of Kadena AB Okinawa 50 years ago... amazing they're still in service
Great to have you with us sir
I heard the Indian Air Force kicked ass against US F16's with the Rafael .
Very Nice !
Am I crazy or did I see wing mounted Aim-9s on a B-52 in this? That is making me crazy trying to figure this out. Can’t imagine a time where they wouldn’t have cover or be in a position to shoot down anything. I know A-10s almost always carry 2 aim-9s for protection but this is so interesting.
I was wondering the same thing. Couldn’t see if it was an AIM-9 or ACMI pod ... but after looking several times it looks like the ACMI was on the other side.
Love those German ground support techs helmets, visors, and ear/noise protection, wish I had that 66-70 in USAF. No wonder my ears are now ringing continuously. All we had was some flimsy ear protectors on the flight line. Was an avionics tech.🇺🇸🗽
long live progress !
So the official name of the F-16 is the Fighting Falcon, and every pilot calls it the Viper, but when I see it waddle up the runway with two big bags and a full payload... I call it the Mother Duck! xD
Btw I'm a huge fan of the Viper, so don't get me the wrong way!
EXCELENTE VIDEO.
The 52s taking off at the 8:45 mark are not at Barksdale, they’re at Nellis
2:45 gottem
I like the perfect balance of diversity, should be safe from "cancel culture"
What are the Tornados carrying? I spotted some Aim-9s, a Targeting Pod and Fuel tanks but there was something else on one of the pylons.
SDS and TSPJ
Integrity of airpower
Wooow those B-52s is insaaaaaaane. So cool that USA still have those 2020 haha.
Peter Nyström definitely getting their moneys worth, although they have spent a lot keeping them up to date.
we used bomb comp to select our elite guards. SAC elite guards are sharp troops.
That's a pretty raggedy looking B-52 at 15:00.
IM the same age as the B-52 !! Loved watching them take off and fly right over our house , so low that my brother and I tried to shoot them down with our toy Bow/Arrows !! The windows in the house rattled so hard they almost broke !! The black smoke poured out of those 8 engines , and the planes stayed supper low till they were almost out of sight before they finally started to get altitude !! ( It was a SAC, Base) When they had "AIRSHOWS on base , they were on static display surrounded with everything they could carry on the tarmac around the plane ! WHEN I enlisted in the miitary in 1970 , they were still flying missions " LINE BACKER " I think it was called , later on .??
While european fighters have fun, at the moment and as always Rafale is in combat !!
What?
@@markdavidson1049 Over the Sahel region fighting ISIS affiliated groups
Eurofighters are in combat too. Its not like they have only those in the video. Far more Eurofighters have been built.
Those B52s really show their age in this video.
Yeah but soon to be 1st Military Jet with 100yrs service....mad eh
The ground crew did not look bored at all...
Do they still use dash 60's? 0:53?
I changed many bleed air hoses
Tango 1 Never Dies !!!
MUY BUENO EL VÍDEO!!
I’m just a civilian that stumbled upon this (I live relatively close to Nellis (30 mins) & am just super curious what Operation Red Flag is? I imagine seeing a red flag is bad ..
RED FLAG is an exercise that give fighter pilots and other aircraft crews the opportunity to fight mock battles to hone their skills. It also is an opportunity for friendly nations to send planes to also hone flying and fighting skills and to operate together as one.
Those BUFFs...
Eurofighter Typhoon!
love a Tonka !
why at 10:44 secs is there a f 16 with VERY russian looking numbers and a red star on it ? Doesn't look too American ? part of aggressor team maybe idk ?
Très très chouette !
HOT VIDEO , THANKS FOR SHARING.
OMG panavia tornado 😎😎😍
Old but nobody can fly lower..😊
B 52,a beast.
Does PAF Pakistani Air Force Participated this time?
I expected the German Air Force to still have fur on their collars
Panavia tornado. Can is it for dogfight?
No ...mainly a fighter bomber .
Respect from india
I was in Kadena in 1985/86. I sure wish that I would have stayed in.
BEAUTIFUL WARBIRDS!
4:21 i love b-52
Wait. Who won? The Eurofighter or the Flacon?
3:03 Eintracht Frankfurt
How are exercises like this running when USA is currently experiencing the worst outbreak of an infectious disease? FYI USA is currently within the top 3 countries with the highest COVID-19 cases in the world.
It was filmed weeks ago.
Sedna063 the title reads March 2020. If I’m not corrected the virus has been in the USA for the last three months...
I need the Tornado in DCS!!!!
Is it me or are they moving in slow motion at first
Forca Nato 👍👍♥️♥️🇦🇱🇦🇱
if only i tried warder in school
Where they flying through the canyon
10:42 F-16 painted like SUs? 🤯
That tower looks familiar, is it near Vegas. ?
calinutza33 yes Nellis AFB is in Las Vegas.
smadison100 thank you ! I was sure , I have been to Vegas 3 years ago , amazing place. ! 😍
Red Flag is a airshow?
I didn't realise that the German airforce still flew the Tornado IDS thought they where flying the Eurofighter now
They are but Eurofighter cant do CAS as well as Tornado can atleast for now and germans are looking to raplace Tornados. Posible with f18 SuperHornets but thats just a rumor XD.
@@SpardauDebesi thanks
Karolis Lukosevicius The Typhoon cannot do low flying as well as Tornado. But with new pods and electronics I think it can give CAS just fine.
The F18 are considered purely for the Growler and the easier manageable nuclear capability.
And those 80 replacement orders will see at least 40 Typhoons in a proposed strike config
@@Sedna063 No it cant even the British Typhoons witch are more modern than German can't do CAS as well as Tornados. And it pains me to say this because I love Eurofighter but it was made to be an air superiority jet not a multi role 😢.
@@Exodon2020 It is stupid they should upgrade them or just wait till the FrancoGerman 6 gen fighter. FCAS I think it is called.
Bet those gr4's were pissing off the rattle snakes!👍
These B52s are really loud!!!!
Wow those B52's really like to fly, wouldn't stick to the runway on landing. Gotta be those massive wings, never seen a plane that actually approaches with spoilers up.
Did Canada participate?
Well, even now, the low smoke program didn’t have those B52s done. Looks like some old diesels running up the road. Keep the flying, nothing like red flag to get the blood flowing.
NO WAR PLEASE !
Indian Air force?
lovely footage! Now I need DCS Nevada map ^^ :D
turkish air force must be there
Where is Grippen?
It was grounded do to too much sun and plus it didn't bring it's purse
damn, that black smoke spewed by the B52's engines, is it burning the fuel? This must harm the environment.
Well now, if it didn't burn the fuel it certainly wouldn't fly very well would it? None of these aircraft have any type of emission controls. the B-52 is getting new engines however. Jet fuel is damn near kerosene. Not exactly the cleanest burning stuff on the planet. All that black smoke represents one thing. Freedom.
They use water injection into the engines on takeoff to provide extra power that's what you can see coming out of the engines
