    For update 58 I like to see sailor and marine uniforms, or at least an oil coat uniform of the wardens.

      I think the sailor uniform should just make it so you don't lose stamina and drown in sinking ships. It would make the uniform more exclusively niche than even armor crew uniforms (They're great for garrison or pillbox camping for the reduced bmat weight and extra filter capacity). They would literally ONLY be useful on ships, tackling a SPECIFIC issue navy crews have to deal with.

      There is a slight probleem.
      Costs the same as longhook which by ship standards isn't bad...
      3 freighters which hold the same amount of cargo are a truck full of bmats.

    One thing they didnt mention were the changes to Emats/HEmats. They're twice as easy to make but all costs for them are doubled, in short this means more shunting resources and more logi trips to make munitions. You know how frustrating it is when you make a second trip to a factory and someone used all your Emats on something? We're gonna see a lot more of that

      I wish they would have talked about this in the dev stream. Seems like a major change and big nerf to arty.
      Should be an interesting war for 115.

      Didn’t they make it so you can carry hemats and emats in resource containers? If so, would’t that technically solve the problem since it’s possible to just stick them all in the container?

      As a logi person i don't like this update. Foxhole is allready a massive time sink. Now i have to do even more trips for the same result?
      Most people absolutely hate driving in this game. Now they have to drive even more.
      Yeah and arty was nerfed in general.

      @@WALKER-bm1uk Presumably, most of the stockpile will be lost similar to rebuilding BB husks. If not they can add this small change easily and they probably will. Partisan gameplay is a huge draw to the game (despite it being relatively poorly implemented imo), devman are absolutely aware of this and want to preserve if not expand upon it.
      TLDR: Doom and gloom is dumb behaviour for babies, plz stop and think.

      @@RobertLovesGames able to sneak more to find more of what? More stuff you can’t kill. It’s also only during blizzards so you need to hope you don’t freeze to death in the process. Doesn’t really matter if we can’t kill the stuff we scout

    Devman NEEDS to add a ward rain coat with the rain changes, ofc buffing collie oil coat to reflect the winter uniforms.
    Also would love to see more buffs for light vics and their facility variants to go with the more mobile fighting that's developed. Hopefully if light vics are buffed enough, we'll see further use of field bridges, player roads, encampments, and a larger focus on maneuver warfare.

      Agreed! I would also love more buffs to light vehicles. A way to upgrade them later in war would be really cool.

    I first started playing Foxhole about a week ago and was inspired to by first your videos followed by some of other creators. When I first joined, I did all of the tutorials on the home world. I will have to say that the signs used to guide you where you should go next in basic training are poorly placed and you sometimes feel like you skipped a part. I do think I did everything though because it almost took me an hour and a half to get threw them all. After that I spend my first three days of playing fighting over a bridge in the treasury in clahstra as a medic (thx to anyone that taught me the tricks of being a medic). Where I started recognizing some names from day to day. I have now moved more to the front lines of the callahan passage and even dippt my tows into some front line logi. I do hope that the frozen lakes will lead to shorter stalemates at the bridges. The only thing that made that bridge a bit more dynamic was when we unlocked mortars.

      You can't learn to play with tutorial, i have 1,3k hours and there is still part of the game i didn't know.
      Foxhole isn't a solo game, you can play solo and have fun but if you want to really enjoy the magnificence of the game you have to join a clan.

      That's awesome to hear!
      The tutorial system is pretty bad. I'm really interested to see what changes they have made. I still think players learn best from other players. I would rather have the devs promote that interaction.
      Bridge battles are kind of rough to get into when you first start just because of how slow paced they are. Probably better as a medic though at least. I normally suggest new players stay away from bridge battles at first if possible.

      @@xjzurv yeah the only thing I really wanted out of the tutorials was a rough understanding of the game and I think they are OK for that. But yes games are often more fun with others. Now I did already get to meet a few people that I recognise now when I see them and they do recognise me to. That's a thing I will have to say about the foxhole community, they are very open and willing to help/play together.

    With bowhead coming I hope we start seeing more and bigger convoys operations it would really add to the immersion, especially for submarines.

      That would be cool! I hope we see this as well. I hope they don't make the bowhead to hard to make and I hope it comes pretty early tech. I'm sure it will be tied to the drydock though.

    Overall the update is an infantery nerf and buff at the same time. Arty shell production was nerfed in general. Furthermore explosive /heavy explosive material costs were doubbled/quadrippled in general.

    I always wanted the weather to be more harsh and we finally got it! It truly makes a lot of changes on the front tactics

    The weather station is basically a radar so if we can put those in battleships as a upgrade for early detection or more accurate firing. And if they do that we can look towards modular ships and vehicles

      @@RobertLovesGames well one big thing from modular ship idea is that dd will have a torpedos option if they add it. And is used as a deterrent for battleships from getting close to them and other ships near them so more affective convoy protection and more long range naval combat

    thank god they buffed snipers,. i literally was complaining about it at a bunker base frontline. like dont make it super OP but like it felt soo terrible it wasnt worth using. hopefully this will help it be better

      Yes! Now they need to do shotguns next! I would love the shotgun to be a viable weapon to use against bayo infantry.

    I'd love for 58 to address the issues with cheating and alts, I gave up with the game because it just ended up being so frustrating to take a break from logi and get more frustrated dealing with infantry play that needs a rework and a lot of cheating.
    This looks like a cool patch but I'll have to dig through it in more detail and see if it'll tempt me back or not. I'm not sure I understand what all of these changes are for and some of this stuff is just re adding what we had before (frozen lakes etc).
    Lovely overview of it though, I hadn't realised the dev streak had happened. Thanks Rob!

    As a fellow logi player
    I thought you would understand that despite containers being a cool thing changes that were brought with them are much more severe and punnishable for logi players
    In fact u can no longer set full queue in mpf or in factory of 40/68mm using just 1 truck/shipping container
    Most of big logi players would prefer devs not introducing those ships and containers over having new Epwd ( now its called explosive powder not materials ) changes
    Change is that u need 2x of epow in every recepie that was using it while the Epow its self is 5 scroop instead if 10 it looks like effectively nothing changed but you have to drive 2 times more
    And truct those containers wont help cos even with small train it takes ages to pull resources from them

      You are absolutely right. Now we need higher tier logi trucks that have more slots. Or ability to use resource containers on MPF pad and use resources inside of it?

      @@RobertLovesGames i beliave u can use res container in mpf but u still have to pull out of it to use in regular factory and u have to know crane submit trick to use in facility
      Problem.with using in mpf is that u need a friend to drop bmats into mpf inventrory and using publick crates in shipping container isnt enough ( 9 bmat crates and 1760/20 crates of ats is more then 60 )
      So what devs did is they added way to transport emats ( containers ) that isnt used and all the regular means of transporting were nerfed 2 fold ( cos every emat is making 2 times less things)
      I do like the 120 taking hemat in factory and mpf while still taking Emat in facility
      That way the arty window between wardens and colonials is less meaningful

    Though, I am also thinking they could potentially even add disasters into the game to shake up the battlefield with tornadoes on land and especially at sea with hurricanes it could really help shift defensive lines and could even potentially be used as cover for daring assaults/landings or partisan operations. I mean, I'm not sure if they would add it but if they did, I can see the possibilities for it to make the game even better while also giving more importance to the weather stations so a tornado or a hurricane doesn't screw over your whole operation but then again you could probably have some storms that can't be reported just to spice it up and potentially have even more memorable fights.

      @@RobertLovesGames I was thinking of it more happening in the middle of a battlefield in which defensive structures won't be damaged, but if you are out of a defense or In a ship or a vehicle that you would slowly get damaged by debris or the ship would slowly flood I would make it so that technically it is a risk, but it's not a suicidal risk particularly given if you can't use binoculars or watch towers unless they're almost right in front of you that way, it could definitely be a risky strategy that could work on unprepared defenders particularly since artillery and the long range shots on ships would be unreliable for both sides during it.

      But storms could potentially kind of ruin logi a bit, but there are other routes that they could use anyway and also give the weather teams a lot more to do and have them be a more integral factor of the war as a whole.

    Also, now it seems possible for logi make Road of life on ice, around enemy forces (not player, maybe wrong)

      Yes now logi could supply bases by driving over the ice! Lakes and rivers being able to be frozen over and driven over is going to be a game changer for sure.

    Would be interesting if they added armored Cargo and Freighters ships. Or given the option, feel like it would become more common compared to better-armed ships however would still not be the greatest option. When engaging ships such as destroyers or Dreadnoughts.

    I’m interested in the sniper changes. I use them occasionally and they’re pretty fun but I wished I could one shot with them.

      With the new damage numbers it looks like you can for the raca warden sniper rifle. Will do 150 damage. Collie sniper is still doing 104 damage so maybe close to one shot as well.

      Yeah it will be much better than getting slowed down by just standing in a trench. Now you have to walk in water which makes it more fair.

    this will get me back into the game. i haven't been playing for several months, but this update addresses some of my concerns. also, i love that they added one of the classic features of ww1, mud hell. also they added the russian navy, so that's neat.
    as a logi player, I might actually ship stuff, with the new ships. usually i just make and gather. happy for this long overdue update.
    i hope they add a smaller gunboat. imagine getting harrassed along rivers by cheap, fast and fuel hungry, fragile lil gunboats with a 12.7mm gun, and some passenger seats. maybe just a turret with two 7.92mm guns strapped to it.

    Well, great change for logi to escort more explosive materials and all that, but it still doesn't change us having to sit 14 hours under artillery fire.

      It might change it a bit. We will see. I'm expecting less 120mm shells. But maybe players will find ways to work around it.

      @@RobertLovesGames My point is that the excessive amount of artillery discourages players from building bunkers, as they know their bunker will get deleted in minutes by 1-2 guns firing from a safe spot.
      You really need to coordinate where you place your bunkers as they will be vulnerable even more now.
      Anytime I help build a bunker and it gets hit by arty, I just alt f4. We either don’t have the manpower to defend, repair or counter attack. It is really discouraging sitting under arty fire.

    I actually wonder, especially with the changes that are also coming later down this year to the weather, especially with snowstorms and thunderstorms how will that affect partisan work because I'm wondering if it's going to make logi easier to ambush perhaps with enough snow layers mines can't work as effectively? Or will you just freeze to death out in the middle of nowhere? I think with the weather it will definitely make the game a lot more vibrant and would actually sometimes screw you over another cases could definitely help you win.

      I think being able to walk over frozen lakes and rivers should make partisan work little easier with getting around. Remember to bring a coat lol.
      And I agree I think with these weather changes the game will be a lot more dynamic.

    im worry about the north they will have more problem with the ice beacause attacks will be easier in the north then the south

    Next war it will gonna be "Make Every Shots Count" Meta, because the cost of Artillery shells, tank Shells increasing about x2 or x4, but dev decrease the time emats and hemats making.

      Yea, but the thing is Faciman and Logiman will get more tired on making the ammo, sulfur is not much and the price is increased, i hope people will have a plan to setup the arti when shells doesn't have many as before.

      Perhaps they could add the ability to fire shells with just flares or something attached to them so that arty crews (especially newer ones) dont run out of shells whilst aiming. These flare shells would ofc be really cheap and do not explode (though you will die if you somehow get hit by one).

    while im glad snipers were finally buffed, im sad that there isnt more infantry changes, id say biggest problems are still the same as for a long time, mainly shadowdancing, tripod weapons being extremely situational and vehicle-infantry balance esp in lategame

    This update honestly looks absolutely horrendous.
    Builders further nerfed into the ground by wet conc and having to do more work clearing puddles to build, logi also nerfed through various production/gathering changes, a wonderful looking ship to only further be gated behind facilities.
    Devman is so incredibly out of touch with their playerbase and their vision is going to keep slowly killing their game.

      I respect the opinion.
      I agree that it's not a great update for builders and is actually going in the wrong direction for builders.
      For logi I think I have to disagree. I think making it so we can transfer emats and hmats in resource containers is pretty huge. Plus being able to place specific logi makers on the map should hopefully open up more communication.
      I will reserve full judgement until I've played a war with these new changes.
      But overall I agree that the changes really do hurt builders and I really hope the next update focuses on builders more or we are going to start losing people.

      @@RobertLovesGames It's also an incredible nerf to logi players, especially early war.
      The new freighter handles worse than frigates, and they removed space bar turning with it. On top of that, it can't even break ice. This new resource ship is gated behind facilities, so public logi players will never see one.
      I run a mostly logi-oriented regiment that focuses on small scale container yards and scrap ports, and this update has completely obliterated what was left of our gameplay loops after the last round of facility changes.

      Foxhole's biggest problem, in my opinion, is 'contradictory design'.
      For example, the game is supposed to have a heavy focus on logistics, and that to win the war you must be able to provide logistics. Yet, border bases completely circumvent this idea, by giving attackers free resources.
      Another big thing is the purpose of base defenses. They are supposed to guard your assets and strategic locations while you aren't online, but take forever to level up, and are incredibly ineffective at their job (for example, a tank can park behind a tree and despite being able to see 90% of the vehicle, the AT garrison will not target the vehicle behind the tree, because it will only fire if it can see the CENTER of the hitbox.) I've seen too many partisan videos where bunker defenses were next to useless, simply because they'd blow a gate and drive right past all the AT garrisons, which never even bothered to lock on despite the clear explosions going off next to them. Even single infantry can get past defenses by taking a heavy machinegun with them, and suppressing the only garrison able to shoot at them, while all the others ignore what is going on. If this wasn't a major issue, then why devs make it so facilities have husks now? Related to this is the fact howitzer garrisons are practically useless, since they don't target vehicles anymore and reduce the overall health of a bunker to the point that it is only worth it on the core itself. You have to rely on RNG for the enemy artillery to hit the howitzer trap, or sacrifice bunker HP and angles of fire against other things like tanks can infantry...with the infantry being able to outrange the bunkers and receive no return fire.
      The devs want this to be a coordinated team game, and keep punishing avenues of solo play, yet the population caps CANNOT support this, and there doesn't exist public cross-timezone methods of communication like a MAILING SYSTEM so people offline can coordinate with those online, besides crummy signs whose messages can become obsolete and can become annoying spam.

    Sniper rifles are always difficult to balance. Real-world snipers are made to give huge advantages to the individual and to strip away the advantages of the sniper rifle would just make it a regular rifle. The first video game company to balance the sniper rifle really ought to get some type of Nobel Prize.

    Still no love for builders in fact it's more work with the weather stations. Overall though it's interesting with the weather changes I just fear with the sniper changes people who use night hacks are gonna have an easier time being losers.

    Personally I think this update is gonna be meh but hey at least it wont make things worse. Im a sniper main from back when it had its own ammo type Im semi exicted to get back into using snipers.

      I can see why honestly. As a logi player I found there was a lot of nice small additions that I really wanted. And I'm excited to see how we use the Bowhead.
      The only weather stuff I'm excited about is lakes and rivers freezing over so forces can attack over them instead of being stuck on a bridge battle.
      And yea snipers should be fun again! Hope they don't get nerfed again :D

    Now there is 2 times more EM and 4 times more HEM this means that you need to make 2 and 4 times more trips to deliver everything. This is definitely not quality of life update)

      Yea I didn't quite think about this when first listening to the dev stream. I got excited they could go in resource containers but didn't think about things like making items in factories and such.

      This is what happens when ppl bitch about too much abundance, if ppl knew that devs often operate in extremes, you'd rather stick with abundance than scarcity wich means more work required for logi and long ass trips.
      Current economy boost is a huge well deserved logi player anti burn out.
      Now everybody gets fuked once again by the "economy broken complaints", its gonna be the case of you never knew what you had until your lost it xD.
      People should have been more specific, arty over spam was the problem, i would have only increased the cost of arty, not every god damn thing.
      Devs always have very hard time to average stats, its just easier for them to go extreme, wich sucks ass but thats their style of development

It's just an ugly relic vehicle remodel, with nothing truly special going for it except the duel barrels, which is ruined because the second barrel takes a full crew member to man. Now, slap a machinegun on top with 360 aiming, then it'll be worth my time. Until then, I'm not even interested in manning someone else's Ares, much less building my own.

      Yes and no. Some quality of life changes with UI and moving resources around. But I think all of these weather updates is going to make builders even more upset. Hoping for some builder love with the next update.
      I would say I can see the devs wanting to really fix old features more and not just wanting to produce something flashy.

      Ima just paste this here: Presumably, most of the stockpile will be lost similar to rebuilding BB husks. If not they can add this small change easily and they probably will. Partisan gameplay is a huge draw to the game (despite it being relatively poorly implemented imo), devman are absolutely aware of this and want to preserve if not expand upon it.
      TLDR: Doom and gloom is dumb behaviour for babies, plz stop and think.

      Yeah, and you realize how much more time and effort the builders have to put in to make it? I've done partisan work before. It isn't that skilled. If it were up to me, AI defenses would become a nightmare, because they would actually work together and do their job, instead of the retardation I see every partisan video, where an AT turret will detect a tank, turn to fire at it, but then doesn't because it can't shoot the tank dead center, even though it can clearly have a shot. Hence why trees are so bad in this game, because a tank can park behind a tree in such a way that the AT garrison can't hit it, even though 90% of the vehicle is visible. It's disgusting.
      It's because of this I'm fully convinced straight concrete walls are better than bunkers, because it wastes the partisan's ammo.

    Bruh they added a weather sock but not a flag?!!?? Bruh I mean I understand its purpose but it looks terrible and everyone’s been begging for a flag and the devs know it. The design for the flags have already been made and they can just use the flags on top of bunkers too. Actually pisses me off the devs hate larp or anything that adds enjoyment into the players hearts.

    partisan man yet again nerfed in favor of facility man, tank gameplay balance still awful, warden rain coat neglected since uniforms were a thing even after this update. 120mm economy nerfed, tripods health increased incentivizing cheese pve tactics.
    at least we got UI improvements and a scroop boat Yippieee.

      With infantry being in a bad spot and arty getting nerfed I'm all for trying sniper as one hit kill for now.
      I will reserve judgement on it until I see how it's used in the war.

      Maybe a short barrel shotgun (Secondary equipment) that can equip bayo for Colonials and a hinge action shotgun that can equip the osprey for Wardens
