Nice fly and looks very effective. I think you could also use fine wire ribbing if you don’t have a fine wire dubbing brush to make the fly more durable.
I just create the body from dubbed thread without the wire loop. Or, I use a marabou feather - tie in the tail, bring the thread forward and then wrap the marabou on the hook and tie behind the eyes. Durability doesnt suffer, that I can tell. But Im gonna try your wire dubbing brush and compare. thanks - great tutorial for one of my favorite flies TIP: Trim away the top half of the hackle so only the bottom remains... and it REALLY looks like legs.
He took a super simple fly and complicated it with a wire dubbing brush and circle hooks. I have to admire the durability, but we are talking about bluegill here.
