As long as the park has interesting things to see its fine. Those old rides were really cool so I didnt even think of this video as different until you pointed out the lack of dark rides and stringent rules.
I love the tours of parks, even if you are unable to film on rides. Gives a great idea of whether or not it is a park that my family would enjoy. Thanks!

I live in England so I love seeing these smaller parks that we don't hear about over here. I love your dark ride videos and as I don't really ride rollercoasters it's just nice to see offride of those and not really need a POV of them. I love your style of vlog during lockdown it's been like having a day out and getting to experience new places.
Man you're hitting all my favorites as of recently! I love Dorney, it's by far my favorite amusement park. Hydra was my first inverted roller coaster, so it holds a special place in my heart. Dorney!! Been waiting two years for this video lol! Allentown is the greatest, and I’ve never stopped missing PA since moving in 2002---Also, yes, Wawa is THAT good 😊
I like both kinds of videos. Just walking and showing off the park does help me decide if it is a place I want to visit. But, I have to admit that I love watching your on-ride experiences. Especially the coasters! While going down the first hill of a coaster, it always sounds like you are contemplating/regretting every life choice you have made that led you to that moment on that coaster!
Great post, Jacob! MORE DARK RIDES DEFINITELY! Understand the park's policy on not filming on roller coasters, but that does make it a bit duller. And, the no tripod policy?! Crazy!
To answer your informal poll there at the end: I like videos like this. You don't have to ride the coasters, as long as you keep getting great shots of them in action :)
Any type of visit to an iconic park is welcoming...love your videos. Very informative. The park I went to growing up was Palisade Amusement Park...50 cents to get in. Home of the wooden cyclone.
Dorney park is a carnival that masquerades as an amusement park. When I lived in Pennsylvania, we went here and Knoebels all the time. It’s been about 25 years since I’ve been here
Either way I enjoy them. If you can film being on the rides then we get to hear you scream. If you video others on the rides we still get to see locations that many of us can't get to so I enjoy whatever we get. My wife has been recovering from some very serious non-covid related issues since 2019 and even with things re opening and me being vaccinated I'm not able to be out at attractions or take the grand kids to an amusement park. Plus, my kids and I have always been fans of dark rides and "haunted houses". So keep on videoing for those of us that are living vicariously through the series! lol
Dorney is a shell of its former self. It’s sad to see all of the old/unique rides gone that were there when I was a kid in the 80’s. It used to be more like Knoebels. I really miss the Iceberg and Journey To The Center Of The Earth.
Thanks for this great and thorough visit to Dorney Park. I grew up going there in the late sixties and early seventies so it was a really nostalgic look at the park for me. There are lots of new rides but I saw some of my old favorites - the Scrambler and the big wooden roller coaster that was the first coaster I ever went on. So I vote yes for this kind of video.
Jacob: Thanks for the explanation of the “camera rule” at the end of the video. Since you only rode the 2 trains, I thought you got in on a Senior Ticket. 😜 I enjoy a more complete tour with you on other rides. However, if that’s the best you can do with restrictions, then I’m still interested in seeing what the park has to offer. Thanks! Yup
I like any amusement park content you post, especially the older and smaller parks. I also find it hilarious when you take us on the roller coasters you reluctantly ride.
I wish I would have known you were in my home town! Dorney has been a part of my life since i was a baby. Back in the day it was so much better, like Knoebels. Good memories! Love ya dude!
Thank You, so much, for creating this video! I am originally from Phillipsburg, N.J. Our parents took me and my sister to Dorney Park every summer. This brought back so many fond memories of my childhood. Sad to see that some of the rides are now gone that I used to love to go on, as well as the zoo. :( We walked through the zoo during every visit. "Journey To The Center Of The Earth" was my favorite dark ride at the park. We rode the Zephyr every time we went to the park. Glad to see that it is still there. Thank You, again! :)
In response to your question at the end, I like a mix of both types, I can’t go on most of the wild rides but I still like to see them and the atmosphere of the park and of course the classic dark rides are always fun.
I grew up near this park and visited a lot when I was a kid. The water park was always my favorite. Cool to see someone checking it out for the first time!
What I enjoy most about your videos, Jacob, is the background information you give -- the history of the site and its attractions, how things work, the behind-the-scenes material. (That there is an actual name for parks at the end of trolley lines was new to me. Thanks! And your telling us about Bill Tracy allowed me to appreciate spotting, in one of your videos of a dark ride, the "R.I.P. Bill Tracy" on one of the tombstones.) If camera restrictions prevent you from adding on-the-ride footage, so be it. My enjoyment is not diminished in the least.
I worked at Dorney back in the early 90’s just before Cedar Fair purchased it for a few years. This brings back so many memories. So much of the park is completely different yet so much is exactly the same. The wooden coaster you referred to as coaster we called the yellow coaster, and the name was then changed to Thunderhawk. Thank you for taking me back to a place that defined my entire childhood. You did it justice!! You don’t need to take us on the coasters....tours like this are perfect! I am glad you rode the zephyr though!!
Either way Jacob. We'll enjoy whatever you film or can't film. I especially enjoy the fact that we get to go on the rides with you. Adam always turns the camera on himself instead of allowing us to enjoy all of the ride. Thank you for Not doing that! You and your channel are awesome! Long time viewer, keep up the great work!
Great video as always. To answer the question you asked at the end I personally enjoy a mix of both types of parks you visit some just to show rides and attractions and some where we get to see and hear you scream on a coaster….so I’d humbly ask for both types

I remember being a very little guy climbing out of my Dad's Buick onto a grass lot and then walking under the wooden roller coaster. That must have been 59 or 60. Then in the seventies I enjoyed Wacky Shack, the pirate dark ride, Journey to the Center of the Earth, the Carousel (my mother fainted on this) which was then in it's Carousel House with a music machine in the center, a small stone lined pond where we watched fish, a riverboat ride, and the zoo. Dorney of today just doesn't measure up. I much prefer Knoebels.
Journey and the yellow roller coaster were the greatest rides ever!! Do you remember the swan boats in the back of the park? All the way off to the right when you walked in?
I remember going here in the 80’s & 90’s. Much better back then. The pirate ship, Journey To The Center of The Earth, The Flying Dutchman roller coaster (when it was working) and that dark ride “inside an igloo” that was great to cool off as they had it freezing in there.
