Originally released in Japan on November of 1989, Namco's Burning force is a 3rd person shooting game that many tend to deem as Namco's counter response to Sega's iconic 1985 shooter, Space Harrier. This game runs on Namco's System 2 hardware which also runs other Arcade Archive alumnus such as Assault, Cosmo Gang The Video, Mirai Ninja, Metal Hawk, and Rolling Thunder 2.
Story wise, the game revolves around the life of a hot pink leotard wearing space cadet named Hiromi Tengenji, who's tasked with undergoing a final exam which spans six worlds (known as days, like in the amount of days that the exam takes) containing 4 acts each in which she must battle high tech enemies on her weaponized hover bike known as the Sign Duck.
For the first two acts in each day, Hiromi battles enemies while in Hover Bike mode which can move left and right and accelerate and decelerate. Along the way. Hiromi must avoid obstacles and retrieve valuable items which enhance her firepower and replenish used missiles and bombs. On the 3rd act, The Sign Duck is modified to become an airship which is tasked with defeating an enemy boss. Once the boss is defeated, the player can take on the 4th act which serves as a bonus stage in which Hiromi must collect as many bonus spheres as possible.
Port wise, Burning Force was ported in 1990 on the Sega Genesis and years later, the arcade version was released on the Wii Virtual Console Arcade in Japan.

I would love to see the old arcade classics Rastan, Crime City, Shinobi, Street Smarts, Pit Fighter, Kung Fu, The Simpsons, X-Men, B. Rap Boys, and Captain America and The Avengers added to your Arcade Archives collection.🙏

I hope Hamster gives us Sega's Space Harrier and Taito's Night Striker.

Space Harrier is already on the Switch via the Sega Ages franchise. As for Night Striker, given that it's coming out as part of the 2nd expansion set for the Taito Egret II Mini, I'm not surprised if this gets released as a stand alone Arcade Archives game, and if that happens, we'll be able to see games which used analog controls in the future.

You can play Space Harrier on Switch. Sega Ages line.

Hopefully, Solvalou will be the next game. I wonder if Arcade Archives emulates rail shooter games with 1990s 3D polygon graphics

Thankfully, they do throw in mega sales where they often sell select AA and ACA Neo-Geo games for 3.99

@@ms.ilovecotton9778 There's always an uneducated consumer like you making snarky comments on this platform. I have a much bigger and better video game collection (both physical and digital) than you so it's not a matter of lack of money but my point is that there are over 100 Arcade Archive games available and they're all overpriced considering they're nothing more than emulation that can be done just as well if not better on MAME.

Michiganders and Saudis will get Burning Force at least. A no copyrights Finest Hour would be nice. Steel Gunner, Steel Gunner 2, Lucky and Wild, Cyber Sled, Star blade, Knuckle Heads, Undercover Cops.

Does Hamster Corporation has an email address so I can ask question? I was hoping that Arcade Archive might release Galaga Arrangement (that came from Namco Classic Collection, Vol 1), Solvalou, and Xevious 3D/G. You did mentioned Starblade, which was a good example.

Arent the Steel Gunner series light gun games ? Lucky & Wild would be tough to emulate too since it requires 2 light guns AND a steering wheel.

    • @figment1988
      @figment1988 Рік тому

@karnovjunior technically, while Steel Gunner 1 and 2 are gun games, they were pretty much positional guns which were glorified joysticks with gun casings

Burning Force is the one Namco game that I would love to play someday.
I'm actually fond of Hiromi Tengenji ever since I watched gameplay of Namco X Capcom. She's also badass in Namco High as well. Plus *PINK IS POWER!* 🩷 🩷 🩷 🩷 🩷 💯
Imagine a surprising future comeback for Hiromi the Burning Force, as Bandai Namco will someday announce possibly an extreme modern remake (you know like Klonoa Phantasy Reverie) of the franchise hopefully either around the 2020s or 2030s! Hell if this happens by the time I become a voice actress then maybe I could dub for Hiromi! 🤩
And what if Playstation All-Stars were to also make a huge surprising comeback by finally having PSASBR2? And then imagine in the 3rd installment, Hiromi Tengenji of Burning Force will have a spot as one of the new challengers! (Even if she's DLC)

Here's to HOPE for Hiromi Tengenji the BURNING FORCE!!!!
