In this lesson, you will learn what an angle is and how angles are measured in math. We will discuss the types of angles, angle measure in degrees, then move on to discussing radian angle measure in a future lesson. There are 360 degrees in every circle. To define an angle less than 360 degrees, we label an initial side of the angle and the terminal side of the angle. We also define the initial side to lie on the x-axis. Angles can be acute, obtuse, and other larger angle measures. We can also have angles with a value larger than 360 degrees, and right angles are exactly equal to 90 degrees. Trigonometry, PreCalculus, Calculus, and Geometry heavily use angle measure when solving problems.

    Hi Sir,
I have gone through many lessons of yours and honestly have found it amazingly well presented and taught. I will be enrolling for the 5 months membership soon by end of this week. I have taken leave from work for 11 days just to learn statistics linear algebra matrices for myself and for my children to teach them the core concept.
Thanks alot for putting so much of effort and bringing up such a lesson that really help us to understand the concept.

I have a couple of comments to make here. You are a brilliant teacher and I learned so much watching your 05 lecture on sines and cosines. But instead of using the white board why don't you employ a graphics designer to make digitally drawn figures, such as piecharts, lines, angles, arcs, solids such as circles, triangles etc, while you can provide your audio inputs in the background? This will make learning so much more effective for your viewers. They could go back over portions they did not understand.
