  • This video is an addition to my previous video about adjusting Shimano 3cc hub. I have tried to explain what is happening if your hub is adjusted right or not.

Thank you so much for all of your videos. I just bought a very nice 3CC on ebay and just received it today. I can't wait to rebuild it and put it on my bike. I was always fascinated with the internally geared hubs and am excited to finally have one to play with.

Thank you for watching, in the near future I will film more videos of different types of hubs, I just love to disassemble and assemble these vintage, complicated hubs :)

Hello, i would appreciate your help a lot. I just disassembled my old Shimano 3CC hub, cleaned and greased it, and reassembled it again. Now the 2nd gear is not working correctly anymore. If i switch to 2nd gear the hub slips all the time while beeing on the edge to snap into 3rd gear. If i push the switchpin a bit deeper by hand the 2nd gear is working perfectly fine. The problem is that i got the 3CC PPS shifter with a stiff wire. Adjustment can only be done in the 3rd gear (without tension) which i did but still the 2nd gear on the shiftbox doesnt push the switchpin far enough for the 2nd gear to fully snap. The problem wasnt there before the hub maintenance. Do you have any idea how to fix that?

Maybe the overhaul made the hub too smooth-running and therefore the springs puts too much counterpressure to the switchpin? If i dont tighten the spring completely and therefore reduce the counter pressure from it might it help? Like you do it here but just not completely tighten it before counter it with the locknut: ua-cam.com/video/H02Yzxsi7wM/v-deo.html
