    What do you think? Do you agree with my conclusion? Or is there another mind mapping tool that you'd recommend?
    Be sure to let me know in the comments.

    Thanks and agreed, Mindomo is the better mind mapping tool of these two. I also agree with your comment about text notes in Mindomo. Strange they have not improved this feature, in an otherwise excellent product. Should be able to open, add a note, and close the text note window/panel, and continue your mind mapping with a short-cut key. Please note that for some reason you cannot insert images in notes in Mindomo (you said "you can insert a picture" in your video, this is not correct), you can in Mindmeister. But in Mindomo you can insert videos and math equations in notes (both not possible in Mindmeister).

      Thanks for sharing, Torgrim. And thanks for the clarification regarding notes and inserting images.

      @@arpitbanjara8410 Were I to be considering Mindmeister but saw this much spamming in the comments, I'd definitely pass on Mindmeister. Great review. Spam poisons it.

    When you say "my money" maybe you should take into consideration the price. So, which one has better options for free, and which one when upgrades? Are there any free option at all,etc... For some people free software is the priority...

    • @Simpletivity
      @Simpletivity  4 роки тому +4

      That's a good point. Both of these tools have a free option that limits you to a total of 3 mind maps.

    Lovely summary. I've been using both for a while and I agree with you on the final verdict.

    thanks for this good comparison but the third criteria "notes" is not enough, it should be called "added elements" which include adding notes, links, audio and videos
    also there should be a "Presentation" criteria when you compare presentations capabilities
    my opinion is Mindmeister is simpler and easier than Mindomo and that's why it's more popular
    but when it comes to features Mindomo has the upper hand

    What about the integration between MindMeister and MeisterTask? I use Trello and would love to integrate my GTD with my ability to use Mindmaps to capture information in meetings and to organize it for communications which is different from task management. Is there any advantage between the combination of MindMeister and MeisterTask or i.e. are they just separate products or have they been integrated and if so is MeisterTask a reasonable replacement for Trello?
    By the way, I have used TheBrain which has a lot of features as well.

    Thanks for the explaination. Used both of them. I prefer Mindomo mainly because of the option to set mindmappping as assignments to my students. Seems Mindomo has more educational integrations for working in a classroom. Besides this, Mindomo integrates with Moodle the powerfull LMS so all my students will find all assignments and theorie on one spot.

    I think the way MindMeister handles video (plays in the map) is superior to most other maps. I do wish it had drill down as found on XMind.
    The internet search function (inside the map). Is also very useful. The integration with MeisterTask also deserves mention.

    • @torgrims
      @torgrims 4 роки тому +2

      Mindomo also plays videos directly in the map - and text notes. Nice feature! Mindomo has (internet) search and drill-down/filter features, XMind Zen does not.
      Mindomo even has integration with Evernote (search and add your Evernote notes into your map). And also UA-cam, Vimeo and Web (Images).

      Torgrim Sandvoll thanks for this! I haven’t tried Mindoro. My experience has been with MindMeister, MeisterTask, XMind, xmindzen, Curio, C-map, Compendium, and tinderbox. My overall pick from this group is MindMeister/MeisterTask, but all have specific strengths. My least favourite is tinderbox- its learning curve is way to steep for me. When it comes to solving wicked problems Compendium is a clear winner.
      Thanks again for pointing out the Mindomo features that were skipped over in the main presentation.

      @@thomasneal7339 For tasks and project management I like MindMeister+MeisterTask the best. Reason being I like the simple Kanban view and method, and (this is a big one) MeisterTask has a specialised app focused on tasks with task and project view. Working with many tasks in mind map view - on a small phone screen, does not work for me. Same can be said with editing mind maps on phones. It's just too small and cumbersome for me. Maybe I am getting old, but I cannot understand why none of these mind map companies can't make an app where you can choose to view and edit your mind maps in outline view (much more fitting for small phone screens). As noted in the video Mindomo has a great outline view in their online and desktop solutions, but not in their phone app(?)

    • @thomasneal7339

      @@torgrims I agree with all you say: I think MeisterTask is an outstanding Kanban app, and your recommendation to provide outline view for small screens would greatly improve the utility of mindmaps.

    I feel like mindomo might be better for us Neurodivergents because it has open clean whitespace and more space for notes. You can also get the sturdy feeling of finishing something when you close the note manually,which is kind of a thing for some of us... I'm adding it now
