I have chairi malformation but mine is 11mm but I can’t get nobody to help me, probably cause I already have a lot of nerve damage an pretty much stuck in a wheelchair. The Drs I’ve seen said this malformation didn’t cause my nerve damage it was my back problems

I hope you get this msg. My 7 year old was just diagnosed with a chiari 11mm too. They skipped her neurologist referral and sending her straight to see a neurosurgeon. Only a neurosurgeon can give you in depth response. Also mri will be needed of the brain and entire spine to rule out tethered cord. Also yes, chiari can cause paralysis if left untreated. Not all doctors are right. My daughter has been suffering from headaches and neck pain for over a year now. Her pediatrician refused to order an mri stating that it's too harsh for pediatrics. Just recently I explained that she is getting headaches more frequently, nearly everyday. I demanded they order her an mri of the brain just to give me peace of mind. They did and found chiari 11mm. The only person who will advocate for you as an adult is yourself hun. You have a voice and it deserves to be heard. Speak up about your concerns and BE LOUD ABOUT IT!
