Captain Kate was my captain on the Celebrity Equinox last year. Her announcements were absolutely hilarious and she kept the entire crew and passengers laughing. It was the best❤️

Lots of countries have been led by women presidents or prime ministers. They still went to war (or missile strikes). Having women in charge is not some magic panacea that makes violence disappear .

We sailed w.ith Captain Kate to Bermuda in 2016. We have never been able to board and disembark a ship so early. Never felt endangered as she sailed us around a near hurricane tropical storm.
Comments like these.. a male captain shipped the fucking Oasis of the seas through an actual hurricane and it was the best thing I have ever experience. No one but karen's like you blamed the captain for an interesting experience.
We are a frequent cruisers and EDGE was the best ship, service, and team we sailed on (regardless of ship class and even trying newer ships). Capitan Kate is exceptional on so many levels and so sweet as a person! Would love to come back to this ship again and again!
My first thought was why have celebrity made an all female bridge team, what for? But then I realised this is historic, why not, it breaks barriers and inspires the next generation of girls who want to be a part of an industry that has always been very male dominated. Welll done celebrity!
This is progress, thank goodness !! I hope in the years ahead such crewing becomes the normal and it doesn't need to make headlines although I fully understand and support this particular milestone. Equality for all.

I was on The Allure of the Seas on Int, Womens day and I gave a talk on my village in the Isle of Man , We were the Women’s Internment Camp in WW11 , 4000 women and children arrived in my small village , German nationals all caught up in war, the majority were German Jewish refugees , we have written a book Friend or Foe about the resilience of women separated from families and the integration of the Foe who became friends, I will be on the Edge transatlantic in Oct , cannot wait , hope to meet Capt Kate .
