I was sad to miss this day of shelling while I was at work, but this video was so fun to watch so I could see you finding your loot!! I'm so glad the NJ beach was good to you!
I know exactly where you were! I shell there often. Thank you for not disclosing. It is a delicate and protected habitat that really doesn't need a ton of people trampling and crowding. I'm so glad NJ was good to you. My husband and I are heading up your way in the beginning of June! I'm so excited to see what Massachusetts and Maine have to offer shelling and metal detecting. Too bad I didn't know you were here I would have showed you another beach that is even more bountiful (and smaller so easier to see it all) than the one you were on. Maybe next time!
This is ABSOLUTELY awesome - cool to see you venture into new shell territory! I have never been shelling in NJ, but this adventure makes the appeal so enticing! Also...secret spots, are the best spots 😃🐚 Thanks for sharing your journey, shell friend 💙

Hi girls! So fun watching your excitement. These are the typical shells I find on my SC beach Edisto. We have tons of whelks, knobbed whelks and channel whelks. Glad to see you find some big ones!! Woo Hoo!!
Hi Freda! You can find these whelks all the time!? You are so super lucky! Amazing. We had an awesome time and are already planning a trip to go back sometime!
Fantastic shelling day!! Congratulations on the large welks! They remind me of the large ones I find in the Tampa Bay Area!! And those big scallops are great!!
The knobbed welkes are beautiful, the shark eyes. The dark colors are beautiful. The colors in the oyster shell is pretty. It is nice to go with you to new places. All the shells are beautiful. The sounds of the ocean is so relaxing and very beautiful. Thank you for another great video. Have a great day.
What an adventure, I had so much fun, i'm going shelling in Florida May 17th thru the 21st, so excited, I love your enthusiasm when your shelling, can't wait for the second part, have a great rest of the week!!
If I had known that seashells could be found in NJ I might have started UA-cam a looooong time ago! How nice to have a secret shelling spot! Those shells were awesome! And yes, the hair is a real struggle in the humidity - LOL!
Yes! I had no idea until Kim 3 reached out to me! Amazing right!? Shells bring such joy! I can't wait to make it down to Florida again and hang out with you - big giant humidity hair and all. lol
What a fun shelling day! As usual, you managed to get all wet, but I think it was worth it for you! Wonderful treasures today - beautiful whelks, scallops and shark eyes. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. xoxo
@Shelling With Plum Island Sea Cabin This reminds me, when you said mossy rocks. The picture I purchased, I know you took it, but did you process it to that wonderful medium yourself? Somewhere in that NJ video is a beautiful section of the grassy rocks and another, maybe in video #2, of beautiful video of the rocks, sea, and fog. Whenever you have time to look, would you see if a still of either footage would make a good photo like I purchased. I would love to purchase those if they could be done in the same medium.
I can only imagine how hard it was to contain yourself while filming. We were giddy with you on that first blue whelk score! You must have been in blue and dark shell heaven! Can’t wait for part 2!!!
What a great video. That big knocked whelp was just gorgeous. I do have some sad news for you though Jamie. My middle daughter passed away very quickly 10 days ago. Her name was Amanda and she was 35. Normally I would walk the beach when I feel sad but tonight I chose to spend it with a great person who Always makes me feel better. I pray you and Kim stay safe in all your travels. Love your videos . Can't wait for our next beach trip.

Hahaha 😆 it was an effort to climb into those rocks! Lol. A lot of times you can't see it on the video, but the rocks are high and you literally have to climb in. Totally with it though for the shell buffet! Haha. Thanks for watching!
I would’ve went nuts finding a big Welk like that!! Even the broken ones were really cool, like the one you found @17:08 (The top of a Welk.) I for sure would’ve screamed with that one!! Thanks for the great sea shell hunt, I loved it!!😍😍 P. S. I saw some rubber shoes at Walmart the other day and I thought of you right away. At least they’d be better than runners at keeping your feet dry. 😁
Hi Pam! Yes! Even the pieces are gorgeous! NJ was awesome and we all want to go back already! Also... never thought to get water shoes. When it's warm enough I love to go barefoot. I wish I could be barefoot all the time. Shoes really aren't my thing in case you can't tell. Haha
@@PlumIslandSeaCabin I’m the same way with shoes. As soon as it gets warm enough I wear sandals 🩴 right through to Fall and barefoot in the sand is the greatest!! Have a great weekend!!😍🐬
Im so glad you found whelks. It's always hit or miss I feel like at the Jersey shore. I still think i know what beach you were at, and i feel like it always gives one whelk to someone that day🐚 lucky you. Channel whelks are hard to come by whole cause they are thinner than knobbed whelks. Got my PB this fall down the Jersey shore. I can't wait to see part two. I would love for you to come back and i can take you to some of my spots. Crazy how different beaches provide different shells. Oh if you put the whelks, scallops and sharkeye in acid they may amaze you more.
When I lived in Center City Philly and in Jersey I went shelling in Jersey a lot! Many whelks, moon snails, scallops, it was AMAZING! (2005-2006) I still have most of my shells!! GREAT times shelling there!
I wish I found more of the dark moons! They were so cool! But we scored so much...can't get greedy! Lol we'll just have to plan a trip back next spring!
Love those knobbed whelks! I found a slightly smaller blue one at Gilgo in NY a few years back and it is one of my most cherished finds! Also love the oyster shells that look like feet!

Perhaps you should team up with the married couple from S or N Carolina, salty reflections is their YT name. Tons of those Busycon carica and canaliculata. I love the thrill of the hunt and now we can save our shell funds to go back! Also, it's fun to be able to ship shells to people and places that are landlocked. It was such an awesome trip! Win win!
If I collected 100 of them it still wouldn't be enough! Haha. I only found like 5, but we plan to go back next spring because we had such fun! Maybe we'll find more! :)
I think it is very selfish of Kim to not disclose the location in NJ. Does she own the beach? Probably not! It is very frustrating to watch someone from out of state enjoying shelling in my state and I’m not allowed to know where you are. I’ve been going to NJ beaches my entire life and have never ever found anything but broken shells. I don’t think it’s selfish. I am a sheller in Jersey and I figured out the good spots by going shelling in random spots and FIGURING IT OUT MYSELF. This location was disclosed, and it was foggy and I could tell where they were bc I know south Jersey beaches like the back of my hand. I have a beach that used to be my secret spot and then everyone started telling everyone and now it’s crowded there every time I go and it isn’t as relaxing and I don’t find like I used to. If it really means that much to you,I’ll tell you, they were in Cape May County. But knowing what county something is in doesn’t mean you are going to find a bunch of shells, it’s all about timing, winds, time of day, tides, moons, storms, so no matter if they disclose to you or not you could go there tomorrow and find zero shells. If you would like me to take you shelling one day so you can find some good whelks and sharkeyes, hit me up. Let me know. I got you. 😊
@@JerseyShoreShellingMama you are totally right with timing. I had my Jersey beach to myself tide going out and nothing but broken shells. 3 days later beach loaded? It's all timing!
Hello Debbie I'm gonna try to help you out with shelling the Jersey shore. Jettys are great. You want to go a couple hours before low tide and shell low tide. Northeastern are shellers best friends. Shelling fall winter spring best times my opinion! Always bring a big enough shell bag never know what mother nature might present you with that day and always bring a bag for trash too. Good luck!🐚

I'm only on UA-cam, no other social media? Don't know how we can get in touch with each other without the world knowing?
I’ve lived in New Jersey close the shore for a long time and it’s extremely rude and selfish of you not to say the location you shouldn’t have said secret location because that’s not fair to everyone who’s lived here and for people who just want to collect the shells but you sell them that isn’t fair and again extremely extremely rude and selfish!!
