After a strong Winter storm, you might find some larger black streaks the next day. I've also heard of beach gold around Ogunquit but never tried myself.
We need to meet up on red sand beach 🏖 sometime this winter 🎉set up the cube for some fun. .... there's 2 beaches in the cape aswell that hold small bits.

I would guess that as much as the sand churns when the water flows that the majority of the heavies have settled much deeper. But I'm just spit-balling.
The larger stuff that doesn't get washed around by the waves will settle lower but the lighter gold will get moved by the waves and that will be settled on the surface.
The heavies are up by the high water line intermixed with those rocks at the base of “bar head” the sand there is purple it’s so loaded with garnets. And there is a good amt of black sand mixed with it.
The FLOUR GOLD WIZARD finds gold on the beach. There's no reason you shouldn't be able to find it as well. Good luck. FLOUR GOLD WIZARD....... there is gold in Wisconsin.

Lol i had the bright idea of dragging a cart like that to the creek i work here in N.C lol that was a bad mistake,by the time i got to the creek i had realised i had messed up,needless to say it was a long day lol.
I tried that here in Maine on beach. Found a lot of garnet. It is so fine it's difficult to pan. Never found gold. Gonna try wells, ogunquit if I see any good streaks

Next time try around the rocks to your left facing ocean,looked like a good concentrater.

Out here in Washington state we dig down some 2' to 3' until we get bigger bands of black sand. The gold sinks down from the wave action

This beach was on the North Shore near Newberryport, MA These were not the same kind of flies as what we got in the spring in the woods.
If you ever get to Newberryport check out sandy point state reservation.
