Wow, I don't think the nine year old me that played this game back when it first came out would have ever imagined they'd do something like this for it. The 36 year old me can hardly believe it, either.

All I can remember are the composers from the 90's that said video game music isn't music. I think we've more than proven them wrong at this point. XD

@@vlad48329reborn They played Linda Hamilton’s skeleton from the nightmare sequel in Terminator 2. James Cameron got that ill hookup including actual snuff footage from 2012 in a movie from the early nineties. Guess real time travelers helped out with the production of that series.

Nobuo writes the best track OF ALL TIME on the Gameboy, and the poor Orchestra is like "....oh god, you want us to do *what*?" But props to them, they did enough to bring the frisson crashing down upon my head that I keep coming back to this yearly.

I miss the Final Fantasy Legend... it seems so forgotten about these days.

The series still exists and they've even made new games in it (FF Legend was just SaGa re-branded for its western release. There are quite a few SaGa games now.)

This is always how I've heard the song in my heart, and I'm delighted it has been brought to reality ❤ Thank you

It's really just this rearrangement which carries a lot of John Williams instrumentation and voicing. Funny how an orchestration technique can make a completely different piece sound similar isnt it.

If you want a Final Fantasy composer who really chips off the old JW block, you’re gonna lose your mind over Hitoshi Sakimoto (if you haven’t already).

FFL needs to be a movie for this number... also, two people only like the main Final Fantasy titles😂

I mean, he rendered an almost Tim Follin level chip tune composition with the GameBoy. Mortal instruments were a distant inspiration even back then. These guys were already operating in a different sphere of musical reality.

HA! I thought this was a joke when I saw the title. They really did it thought.

i actually like the simple concept of the tower of god and paradise. pretty fun for a very basic RPG from the seiken densetsu franchise hahaha.

Nah mate, final fantasy legend (SaGa) and final fantasy adventure (Mana/SD) are two different things.
      Don't blame ya though.

Beautiful, but still not nearly as emotional as the original 8-bit version.

The timing kind of throws me off. I feel like right at 3:23, I expect the brass to play but it pauses a second and then plays. Does anyone else hear that? I really really really want to love this track, and I did get goosebumps listening to it, but there are a few times where I expect to hear an instrument jump in but they delay a moment before playing. Maybe that's just how they decided to arrange this piece though.

Dan Pierson I agree 100 percent, great but lacks the desperation and heart of being such a climatic battle theme.

    • @onezerozeroonethree2369
      @onezerozeroonethree2369 3 роки тому +1

It's trying to be cinematic by disguising the beat structure. Because we grew up with battle themes with consistent driving rhythms, it throws us all off. It's just not very game-y

Woah that's my comment from a half a decade ago. I still agree. They needed to treat it more like rock than classical music rhythmically.
