    That brought memories back for me. I ran a toro 6 footer for quite a few years before I retired. They get the job done!👍👍🍺🍺

      Awesome! Glad you liked it! She sure is fast and that 6' deck chops a BIG swath 🤠👍

    With that music I could mow all day. Great choice.

    That sure is some pretty green grass! All I've got is a bunch of weeds to mow down for now!

      Thanks! This is the best lawn I've ever had the privilege of mowing. Lucky for me, it was like this when we bought the house. I just have to make sure I keep it nice 🤠👍

      Awesome! From what I've seen on UA-cam, the 1025r is pretty easy to install and remove the deck. Nice machine 🤠👍

      @@samsdoinstuff The Kubota isn't too bad either, but in my case I have to get the mower off its shelf with the pallet forks, bring it over to the carport, then go take the forks off, put the bucket back on, then take the loader off, take the ballast box off or whatever implement is on the back, then go install the mower...so it is a 10-15 minute process in my case, but if the deck was right there and didn't have to deal with the loader and ballast, it really only takes maybe 5 minutes to actually install the deck and to remove it. The drive over models in the Green and Orange variants are even quicker, that is if they quick connect stuff works and is adjusted properly, otherwise it can be a big PITA.

    Thinking about getting a zero turn since my lawn tractor went to my uncle since his kept breaking down....So now I end up having to put the mower deck on my sub-compact tractor each week to mow....I think a zero turn would be nice, never had one and never used one before, I've just had lawn/garden tractors LOL.

      It's a game changer. I really feel like my tractor can just be a tractor now. And wow! Is it a time saver 🤠👍

      @@samsdoinstuff I don't think I'd care to spend as much as you did on your zero turn, I only cut about 3/4 of an acre LOL. However, I think I want something with a larger deck than the seemingly standard 42" that is so common now. I think a 54 inch would be good, the mower deck for my tractor is a 60 inch, so a 54 inch fabricated deck I think would be good...a step or two above the entry level, but not the $5k+ ones that are more geared towards larger yards and entry commercial level.
      That is kind of the point where I am, I really don't want to be swapping the deck on and off my tractor all the time, so I think next year I'll be getting a zero turn....won't be too long and I'll just be mowing about 1/4 of that 3/4 acre once the warm weather hits most of it will be dead anyhow LOL.

      @@wildbill23c I am SO looking forward to warmer, dryer weather too! I have so much I can't even get started because it's too wet. I do love that I don't have to struggle with that mower deck 🤠👍

      @@samsdoinstuff Its dried out here enough I can do some stuff, still kind of soft in some spots though, so a few things have to wait, don't care to try to dig out the tractor if I get it stuck in the mud LOL.

    I guess there is no point to race my standard 24hp lawn tractor against your 4 acre per hour Toro 4000, lol. The Toro sure cuts fast and does a fine cut. Take care Sam!

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  3 місяці тому

      Haha! You're right Paul. That thing is fast! It makes a perfect cut at 12-13 mph. I did a video and raced my BX just to show how much faster it is. Impressive 🤠👍

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 3 місяці тому

      Zero turns are quite a bit faster than a lawn/garden tractor, and they've faster than a lot of tractors too.
      The thing is going that fast while mowing isn't gonna give you a very good quality of cut unless you have a perfectly flat and smooth lawn LOL.

    Do you know how much this mower weights? Also how do sharpen the blades? Using car jacks?

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  3 місяці тому +1

      Great questions. The spec sheet says 1,300 lbs. I intend to drive the whole mower onto ramps to remove the blades. There are several brands of jacks made specifically for zero turn mowers but I don't have any experience with them. Hope this helps 🤠👍

    I think you are cutting more than you think. I live on 4 acres. 1 acre is 45,000 square feet. The foot print of my house is 2408, poop pond is 1200 and my shop is 1200. According to my math I am still cutting 3.8 acres. I have a Gravely 60" with a 27 hp water cooled Kawasaki. My record is exactly 1 hour, balls to the wall and you have 12" on me, well my mower deck! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  3 місяці тому

      Maybe... I used one of those online calculators and just typed in 200X500 and it gave me 2.3 acres. Our total property including the fields is 7.1 acres and I finish it in 1 hour 45 minutes, so I'm starting to think you may be right 🤠👍
