there have always been horrible movies. and there will continue to be horrible movies. but there are COUNTLESS amazing movies being made nowadays which most people don't even bother to look for.
It should be a contender in production design as well, though it might hard to beat Barbie. And will probably get nominated for sound editing, and the score.

Denis said he plans to make a trilogy, splitting the first book into two films and Dune:Messiah being the third film. But this second film will have to be successful for the studio to let him make another. Considering the first film was successful while being released simultaneously on streaming and during Covid I’m sure this film will perform greatly.

I disagree but these are probably the best anyone could ever realistically ask for. The books are always gonna be leagues away but that's alright. Part One was a masterpiece nonetheless.
I think this one will surpass the back end of the book. It just jumps time at random and feels like it's racing to the end. Which is weird considering how slow and deliberate the first 60% of the book is.

The level of epicness in this trailer cannot be measured. The second part will shake the very foundation of the scifi movie making. I don't think there is anyone more suitable than Denis Villeneuve to be able to translate the greatest sci-fi book ever written into images.

Meh... Pass. There's a reason Dune is so difficult to bring to the screen: it's too full of itself, it's bloated with lore and history like War hammer 40k. All you get in the movies is brief glimpses, snatches of history, that zoom past so ridiculously fast it's impossible to resolve. Go read Dune but only read every 50th page and then tell me you know what Dune is about. Don't get me wrong, this is visually spectacular but the tone is overwrought as every scene try's so hard to be significant and meaningful: it's so in your face with how important every image, action and word is that it gets in your way of enjoying the movie about a man who actively causes the deaths of sixty billions people. Hard pass.
Now that WGA strikes and Actors strikes are almost over, is there no chance of Dune Part 2 movie back to its November release date it originally had. It’s really disappointing to me personally we have to wait until March next year instead. You would think now that it’s almost over, we could still get it this year but I guess we will have to wait

With time and in retrospect, it became an appreciated sequel. I enjoyed Lynch's Dune but Denis really nailed the characters and story.

Is it ok to be both AMAZED and AFRAID of Timothee as Paul? Because this is how I felt with Paul in the books.
With each movie, Denis just raises his level again and again. Best director today by far. Breathtaking peak cinema.
