My dad had this truck(1990) in white in the late 90s to early 2000s. I loved that truck and called it the white monster because it was a bit rusty. I drove it in high school and took it deer hunting off road. Road tripped to New York from Ohio. Got a kiss from a girl i had a crush on. Lots of memories. Died ar 330k miles. It liked to blow tie rods. The radio wasn't great but worked but you didn't need much when you were listening to Dire Straits on cassette. The jump seats were nice in a pinch, we even had four of us in there which was me and two teenage brothers and our dad, drive two and half hours on a small road trip. The engine sound really takes me back. The tires also sucked but it did okay in the snow when you went out, locked the hubs manually, and switched to 4 low. My dad was also a part time fire and ems guy so when the sirens went off, my dad literally peeled out and id hear him red line until out of ear shot and me being a hugh school kid, was running it hot all the time doing fish tails. We hauled rocks, mulch, rototillers, camping gear, everything. No issue. Had a really high suspension too. The seats WERE verh comfortable. If you're looking at this truck and seeing if it sucks, it doesn't. Its awesome and after my kids are gone, will get this truck. You'll just love this truck.
I have one exactly like yours. Got it from my dad's estate. I'm told the mexicans call them "hombre". Their longevity is legendary. And I love that teal! Many other pretenders out there, but none come close. Every time I get in it, I am overcome by a strong desire to never let it go. And last but not least - made in Smyrna Tennessee - about 5 hours from where I live!
I love that truck. I had the same truck a orange version and a blue version. I bought orange went to a junkyard in the blue one to a grandma that needed a car. The grandma brought the truck to a junkyard like the orange one and bought a Honda Civic.
Great trucks. I just bought my 5th Nissan truck. A '96 King-Cab, 5-speed. I've had a '73 Bulletside with 4-speed, '88 Hardbody single-cab 5-speed, '93 Pathfinder 4 door 4WD 5-speed, and '04 Frontier crewcab longbed automatic.
Very nice. I bought my son this same truck for his HS graduation gift a few years ago. Same truck same color except his has an auto transmission. I bought it from the original owner and it had 79k miles on it then. My son still has it and its up to about 120k miles now. Good truck.
I bought it in August 2016 from second owner, the first owner was his father and he is a mechanic. The truck is in very good shape, even has the same rim as a spare. 😃
Unfortunately mine doesn't look like that anymore. I bought mine new in 97 for around 14k and for years it was always getting ding'ed which sent my bp over the top so I just stopped taking care of the body but you wouldn't know this was 230k, 25 years later by the undercarriage and the engine runs great. Biggest problem is keeping it smogged. In nevada inspections are every year, and every year it gets more and more difficult. Runs great but clearing the drive monitors and drive cycle is pia. Nevada is the worst state for dmv and smog laws. Even worse than cali.
If you bought your truck new 25 years ago, you got your money’s worth. Sorry to hear about Nevada’s smog laws and hope you can keep your truck longer. 👍🏻
I live my hard body. I’m a 17 year old boy male driver and I’ll tell you I learned stick in my hardbody and the clutch and basically the truck itself is very forgiving. I have a 1997 Nissan hardbody with 78,000 miles not a typo. It was sitting in a garage in Arizona and I picked it up for $1,600 also not a typo. I’m very fortunate to have this truck. I recommend if you ever come across one get it. The only down side is this model has a gremlin where the rpm’s sputter our after drive around roughly 40 miles straight. But I love my Nissan and I’m going to put 2004 18 inches Titans rims on it. So excited check out my Instagram at jaden_baker1267.
Congrats on the hardbody bro make sure you post some vids on your channel too, excited to see your ride. Check out our channel for more of anything hardbody on our mega playlist. Thanks peace
@Swaggy don't sleep on it! These are amazing machines you will enjoy every moment of ownership and the drive just never gets old these are the next generation classics!, grab em because they are going up in price and rarity.
@Swaggy you should post a vid to show it off and to congratulate and celebrate your grand purchase. Small question? Is it 4x4 or 2wd? Automatic or manual transmission ? Thanks 👍

Alex JBL Tester thank you for subscribing. The side rear seat was taken off to add the speaker and the kicker amp, the person that sold me the truck did it. It sounds really good. I am planning on making another video of the truck and when I do I will add the speaker 🔈 so stay tuned. I paid $1500 for the truck in 2016.
