Hello again, I am binge watch your video snd feel like I have met a new friend. I wait for the sales and favor Joann's also. I do alot of hats, scarves and blankets for the shelters here. You are a very inspiring young man. Love the yarn yakking. Have a peaceful evening.
Catching up on your back catalogue. I love your enthusiasm. It's infectious!!! I share your passion for yarn and I've got my knitting and crochet mojo back. Thank you. I intend to watch some of your tutorials and learn some new stitches❤
So inspiring to hear yours and Rebecca's story. I too am a survivor of DV and I escaped just over a year ago. I was married for 45 years and am rediscovering who I am. Juan has been part of that healing process.
I have the dark gray and the teal in Caron One Pound. They are so pretty together! Nice haul, love the RH yarn you picked up, such a pretty combo of colors!
Wow! what a deal, and I love the blue colors. Great idea reusing yarn from old afghans at thrift store. I used to do the same thing with jewelry I found at thrift store. I'm take necklace or bracelet apart to make a new necklace to sell on my site. I used to have a website, and sold my handmade jewelry and hand knits designs. I was in a wholesale jewelry store in NYC, and saw these necklaces that had these pendents that had crystals and lace design. I used the pendents with pearls, crystals, called it Victorian Crystal collection. I was at the NY Now show at the Javits center, in Global Handmade. Saw this booth, the Artist had made necklaces earrings and bracelets with crochet. Would love to be able to do that.
Hi Juan, I’ve been enjoying your videos and love that you give back to women and homeless. I learned to crochet cause a friend from church said it would be a good idea if we made scarves and hats for the homeless. I dug right in learning through Crystal at BOD and were able to give out a bunch. Hugs from Alabama
Wow, awesome savings! I have been on a no yarn purchasing hiatus for more than a year now. I’m without an income right now, so that’s a huge part of it. So I’m living vicariously through others hauls. I probably have enough yarn to make projects through 3 lifetimes, but there’s always something about getting a deal on yarn that just feels awesome. I do a lot of different crafts and refuse to buy full price on anything unless it’s an emergency. Not only do I have a ton of yarn, but all kinds of crafting supplies. Enough to open a craft store I’m sure. Originally my intention was to start having craft retreats and my chef husband would handle all the meals. Sadly he passed in 2019. Life & plans changed instantly. But not the point of my comment. I think it’s awesome you work with local charities. Giving back to our communities is so important. I’ve made lots of hats for babies and adults. Also making donations for knitted knockers. It’s for breast cancer. I’m even more invested as my BFF was just diagnosed this month and we are awaiting her MRI results to know if it’s spread. Seeing firsthand what a difference hand made items have on someone’s life is very rewarding. Looking forward to your next video. Would love to see the yarn room! Cheers from FL😺
I just love that you work with the homeless and domestic violence shelters too. The domestic violence has always held a special place in my heart because I’m a survivor. 🥰
Trying to catch up on videos. Been busy with orders and painting my back porch. I think your varigated for your project would be great with some of your favorite color.
Thank you so much for sharing your yarn haul. I wanted to thank you for help in the battered women shelters, I’m a survivor of domestic abuse I left my husband we’re living in Columbus Ohio I left them on May 31, 2001 middle of the night I had to escape and thank God I could come home to family members and I had a job I could go back into thank God for that. I already knew I liked you and your channel and your Content But really truly I love you for what you do for those women from the bottom my heart thank you❤
I too was a battered wife way back in the early 70’s not much help about then….so I’m always extra pleased when I see someone helping. Bye the way I did come out of my situation well, my lovely second husband found me and helped my restart my life that was 47years ago. God bless him.
I too crochet for some of the similar charities , as well as DD homes Assisted living homes nursing homes ! I have to catch the yarn sales that fit in my substandard income ! I love to crochet it is my at peace time 24/7 ! I am a reclusive person I like staying home not around people crochet bring so much joy in my life ! I believe there is only one yarn I purchase in my life that was $12.00 a cake I wanted it so bad for a project , it is still sitting in the plastic package it came in ... I just look & admire it !
I am a thrifty person too, never buy anything unless it’s on sale. Only time I pay full price for yarn is if I’m on vacation and visit a yarn store, then I buy a hank or two as my souvenir of the trip, will then make a hat or scarf 😍Glad Crystal suggested to come try your site!!
I buy afghans for re-yarning too! It's a lot of fun. They're really inexpensive and you can get quite a bit of yarn to make another project. I can make several hats and scarves from them to put into my donation tote. I've found some that were really cute and you could just add on to them to make them bigger. "I" hooks have always been my fav hook but have moved into using a "J" quite a bit lately. However, I am working on an entrelac scarf with a 7mm and love it! It may become my new fav.
I only buy on sale. For some reason when I go I’m drawn to one color. I don’t know why but it’s me. I share my yarn with my granddaughter (7) and great granddaughter (13). But giving yarn is one one of my love languages. I love your posts.
Jaun, I love listening to you, It is your genuine enthusiasm for creating that is so wonderful. I love to hear about the generations of your family that either crochet or knit. The other thing is crocheting has been so helpful for my brain and feelings it just made me feel so much better. It was several years later that I came across an article regarding the healing of soldiers with PTSD using crochet . Anyway I’m so glad you’ve started a channel❤
Hello I've been crocheting for over 40 years and almost every day since COVID. I love ur yarn wall and collection. I agree with you about buying yarn on sale or clearance. I NEVER buy full price. I cannot afford to do that! Lol...my favorite color is also purple! I crochet for charity also. I ask for donations of yarn from several towns near me. I make hats and scarfs for the homeless and blankets for a hospice agency. It makes me feel good to do some good in this world. Bless u for donating also. I have to admit that Hobby Lobby is my favorite store but I also shop more at Joannes. I also like ICE yarns but that shipping! Yikes. I'm from NJ shore area. Just wanted to say hello.
Thank you so much for your kind words!! And thank you for crocheting for charity!! I know for sure you’ve made someone’s day with your creations! So awesome!
Hi Juan! I hope I don't comment too much, lol! I have my Masters in Social Work and have worked in several genres in my day. There are so many needy people out there and the numbers seem to increase every day. Bless your heart for all you do for others. Our world needs more Juan's! Very much enjoyed your yarn haul. I love hearing your perspective on the various different yarns. Crystal from Bag-O-Day has taught me a lot about yarn and crocheting. But you, in your short time here, have taught me things too! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise!
I am so happy to hear you talking about ways to save money buying yarn. In your last video you mentioned buying a blanket at a thrift store, frogging it and re-creating with it. I love that! I also was blessed by asking on Freecycle if anyone had any yarn they wanted to get rid of. I had a great response and I ended up with bags and bags of yarn for FREE (that's what Freecycle is, you can post stuff you want to give away to someone for free, or you can request something you want to receive for free. If you haven't tried it, check it out).
Happy to hear about you helping the battered women & the homeless. I’m a retired RN and haves worked with both groups. My ❤ aches for them. The 1st and only yarn I learned on was the Red Heart. It’s only recently I have been venturing trying other yarns. I love watching your yarn hauls. Crystal from Bag O Day has some fantastic ones lol. Thanks for another terrific video. 🧶gayle
I'm a new viewer and enjoying your podcasts. You had me when you said "With the price of yarn going up, I'm not about to run out" and you buy yarns that I typically purchase. I will never pay full price for my yarn.
I enjoy your passion & love for yarn. It's not a hobby, it's a life style. Awesome yarn purchases. I really like the Caron 1 pounds. Thanks for sharing Juan
Just found your channel last night. Love your content! I would like to share with you what I like to do when Joann's has a 50 or 60% off coupon. I love Red Heart Ombre yarn and they offer 12 skeins with the ship to offer and if I use the coupon I am getting this yarn for $5.00 or less per skein. If you hit it just right you can get free shipping as well! I'm sure you have figured this out, but just wanted to share.
Enjoying your info.! I've been trying to find a stitch to use with bulky yarn, that doesn't eat up so much yarn. I've increased my hook size and been looking thru your scarf videos. Making matching beanies! Ty for all your guidance! 😁
I always buy yarn on sale, usually on clearance. I have several caron one pounders as well and all of mine came from black friday sales where they were $5-6. Thank you for finally telling us where your from. Your accent was so familiar to me, my family is from jersey and you sound just like my uncle. I was the first born after they moved to Florida.
I need you to talk with my hubby! He has me on a yarn ban! I better get to stitching as until I get some stuff done, no new yarn for me!! I love purple too! I would live in a purple world if I could!
I just did a haul from Joanna myself!! I’m allergic to wool so I have to avoid those but I got a bunch of the lions brand hometown that were 30% off. If you have a Walmart near you though a lot of the lions brand hometown skeins are on roll back to 3-4 dollars a pop! I picked up 20 from my local one! Great quality for acrylics.
New subscriber and acrylic yarn lover. Did you see Me Sew Krazees video about the demise of Joanns? I live NYC, it’s a Micheals monopoly without a car.
My daughter works at jo Ann's, last time I bought yarn from there I got the friends and family deal plus coupons plus my daughters employee discount. So I only shop at jo Ann's
hi Juan 💜 this popped up in my recommendations so I'm watching it again. It's All the things and so nice I had to do it twice. I love Red ♥️ heart yarn what did you do with 12 skeins of yarn? 🙏🏽🫂💜

I donate wherever needed. This is great what you do.
My Joanns is very small.
My first job was at Woolworths. Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth! The yarn is of course beautiful!
I have the dark gray and the teal in Caron One Pound. They are so pretty together! Nice haul, love the RH yarn you picked up, such a pretty combo of colors!

Wow! I wish I was organized when it comes to buying yarn. I struggle

I like Wildflower!
Ok now I’m having yarn envy what an amazing score no Joann in Canada and they don’t deliver to Montreal Quebec ❤️🇨🇦
Always interested in sales and techniques to stack and find discount codes. Save a dollar get more yarn😂

Popped over from Bag o Day's Crystal live, she recommended your channel! Great haul & info, but no use to me in the UK. LOL

I need to find out about these sales before they are over. Lol
Thanks for the tall person math. A friend who is just starting to crochet is 6'5 and her husband is 6'10. She's gonna need all the sales 😂
hi Juan 💜 this popped up in my recommendations so I'm watching it again. It's All the things and so nice I had to do it twice. I love Red ♥️ heart yarn what did you do with 12 skeins of yarn? 🙏🏽🫂💜
❤$$$$❤
Hobby Lobby has yarn 30% off every other week
Hi Juan
Hola Juan
Every so often can you give the mm of the hooks? None of my hooks have letters. Please and Thank you
IMHO when it's priced as $11.99, I call it $12.00. That little penny is not doing anyone any good.
what a good idea with the thrifted afghans, totally stealing your idea!!
