I was working at HMV in Vancouver in the late 90’s (not positive on the exact year). Michael Hutchins came in one morning. His hair was died dark, he had these big shades, and a rain jacket. I helped him find what he was looking for. He was really nice about signing an autograph. R.I.P.
Awesome Aussie band. I saw these guys perform this album at a place called the Jet Club in Coolangatta not long after Shabooh Shoobah was released. 1982 I think it was. I stood right down the front and thought it was awesome. This is the best INXS.
I saw them live in Albany NY at the historic Palace Theater on the Listen Like Thieves Tour. Second-row loge seats, I was standing at the lip of the stage, literally at Michael's feet. INXS were great. Michael was transcendent delivering a performance that was hypnotic, and impossible to look away from. His soul soared that powerful voice and you felt every note. Michael was truly one of the best frontmen I have ever seen, and I've been going to concerts since the 1970s.
This song made me stand up and take notice of INXS when it first came out. I'm convinced that had it come out in the late 1980's after they had established themselves, it would certainly have been a U.S. top ten hit, if not a number one hit. Just such a great song with stellar drumming by Jon Farris.
Wow this is unreal! It's amazing how much they evolved in just five years from '82 to '87. At this time they sounded more like the Clash or Duran Duran but Hutch always had a presence about him.
MH was a great frontman!. He had a great voice and moved well on stage. He had swagger! Sinewy moves like a Panther !🐆 Too bad it didn’t last long. RIP MH
Always so powerful🙏and INXS incorporated SAXO 💕my, god love , it is so great SAXO, bring Chills 💁💥22 November 2022, MICHAEL is here, in feels ❤️💜☄️25 years laters, awesome Man, born to be Performer Music🙏☮️Peace « Baby... I love you so💋 »
Don't watch the video at first, and tell me that Hutchence sounds like Jagger! Love the sound of the Fender in this sound!.This song needs to get more play time on the radio....flat out jams!
I always thought he channeled Jagger and Morrison....he's right up there with them in charisma and sexuality. Although Jon is always my favorite, Michael was just amazing! And that hair! love!
as a drummer for many years, this guy has always caught my attn, a little flash but not too much always fitting and the 1st i see who used 2 snares before anyone really did like it has been in the last 10 years or so. wow.
Not surprised that Tim Farris acts like he is a guitar virtuoso but he just plays a few notes here and there (like he did the entire INXS career). .. and spite of him, this is an incredible good performance... that good was INXS...
Well you know just what you do to me The way you move soft and slippery Cut the night just like a razor Rarely talk and that's the danger It's the one thing You are my thing You know your voice is a love song It's a cat call from the past There's no ice in your lovers walk You don't look twice 'cause you move so fast It's the one thing You are my thing You've got a dozen men behind you You've got dead flowers on the floor You're too pretty in the daylight It keeps them coming back for more It's the one thing You are my thing It's the one thing You are my thing It's the one thing You are my thing
Michael was the greatest front man from the 80's!
Still my favorite INXS tune.
Randy same
“Dont Change” is no slacker either.
You got that right I think it kicks ass
Mine too. Takes me back to college days.
Mine too!!!
One of the greatest frontmen EVER!
The "World's Most Dangerous Band" at their absolute best!
So good live. No control box, ear pieces or auto cue. Just talent.
That's how we did it back in the day! Right or wrong = rock n roll!
Yes! No magic buttons
First time I heard it summer of ‘82 video on MTV, that was all I watched ,kept mtv on nothing else for all the 80’s

INXS had great energy. Hutchence was a hell of a front man.
Hands down one of the best bands to come out the 80's. Concerts were off the chain!!!
Almost 40 years on, still a great banger

Hell of front man. Hell of a band. Hell of a song. Hell of a performance.
Good Lord Hutch was the greatest front man ever! I love and miss you!
A mix between Jim Morrison and Mick Jagger ..

You cannot compare musicians, fronts of bands, artists...Refrain.
Maybe betttur!
Definitely a better singer than either...
The whole album of that was good. I had it on cassette, one of the few albums I owned and listened to repeatedly.

It's the one thing
You are my thing
You know your voice is a love song
It's a cat call from the past
There's no ice in your lovers walk
You don't look twice 'cause you move so fast
It's the one thing
You are my thing
You've got a dozen men behind you
You've got dead flowers on the floor
You're too pretty in the daylight
It keeps them coming back for more
It's the one thing
You are my thing
It's the one thing
You are my thing
It's the one thing
You are my thing

Michael hutchence was the epitome of what a front man should be, equal parts mega talented and mega sexy
True artists. Music today sucks. Sound machines and beat boxes. INXS real talent.
