I have a tobin ($149 costco) and minn kota trolling motor 34 lb thrust($129.99 bass pro) and Litime 12V 100Ah Mini LiFePO4 Lithium Battery($329.99 amazon).Perfect for fishing all day! The activity range is nearly 10 miles! very fun! But don’t sail on a windy day!
Excursion is heavier with a larger footprint causing more resistance than the Tobin. Excursion is less rigid than the Tobin so it will also sag more causing more resistance. Tobin is rated for a max hp of 1.4 while the excursion is 1.5. Combining all these factors, you're going to go a lot slower with the Excursion.
Tobin is the better boat. I mean it has a drop stitched material for the floor similar to iSUP. You can easily stand on it which makes fishing more fun.
@@Bighannes410 they got them at Costco for $200 delivered right now. This boat will definitely float you. The floor is high pressure. Like a inflatable paddle board. I think you might be ok.
@@paulc9322 I was deciding between this one and the mariner 3 by intex , the mariner 3 is on sale for 260 I believe near me but I saw a couple people say they started to have a leak on the valve for the mariner so I figured I might go for the Tobin canyon. only thing is I would like to be able to bring another person as well and with the 595 pound weight limit it would be cuttin it close. You think if I exceeded the weight limit a little it would make a huge difference or would it still float ? I’ve owned flat bottom John boats but never any experience with inflatables before. Any advice is much appreciated
@@Bighannes410 I’m still waiting to get mine delivered. I’ve used higher end Avon inflatables for years. This boat seemed high quality to me when I saw it in person. The material seemed to be the same as the inflatable paddle boards. I’m sure it will float over the limit. Inflatables hold a lot and are very stable with the floatation on the outside perimeter. I guess I’d just order it and try it out. If you don’t like it’s Costco so easy refund. I already have a electric and battery so all I need to add is a $30 motor mount.
Music is distracting. Minus points

I’m a big guy at least 350 pounds and 6 foot 4 , you think I’d be able to stand in it still ?
Yes because the capacity of the tobin sport canyon pro is 500 lbs. because my weight 156 lbs plus my 3 children and motor and the battery weight.
