I have just purchased this boat. I noticed you are using the 2hp Honda engine with the intex mount. I have purchased a 2.5hp Suzuki outboard I noticed some other cheap inflatable boats like the intex excursion cannot support the thrust of an outboard of this size and the motor sags into the water. It looks like the Tobin canyon pro handles the thrust of the 2hp perfectly even at full throttle. Have you had any issues at all with the motor+thrust causing a sag? My Suzuki engine arrives tomorrow and I am eager to try it out in the hope it works just like your Honda works! They are very similar size, weight and power!
I didn’t encounter problems with my boat even if full speed it floats on the water so smooth. But you need to balance the weight you need to add weight in front of
@@ephoysworld1232 Thankyou for the response. What I mean is, where the motor mount connects to the back of the boat. I have noticed some other inflatable boats are too soft and not very rigid. When the throttle is applied the motor dips into the water as the back of the boat (the wall) is pushed in by the weight and thrust of the motor. It appears the Tobin canyon pro is very rigid and doesn’t do this. Your boat appears very strong in the section with the motor mount and the 2hp Honda causes no issues. Does that make sense?
@@GunitCPT yes is normal because of the force of motor plus the weight that Why I put more weight in the front so that it’s balanced. If you don’t have weight the motor will dip into the water

Nautilus battery good for trolling and long last for many hours

no I didnt use anything,the air doesnt come out as long as you put cap securely

Excursion is heavier with a larger footprint causing more resistance than the Tobin. Excursion is less rigid than the Tobin so it will also sag more causing more resistance. Tobin is rated for a max hp of 1.4 while the excursion is 1.5. Combining all these factors, you're going to go a lot slower with the Excursion.
Forgot to ask, were you able to see what max speed was?

I'm guessing the Tobin can't plane with a larger motor. Use to have a 10ft Zodiac with a 6hp Yamaha. Even with 2 adults, 50 lb marine battery, trolling motor and 50 lb of gear, I was still able to get it to plane.
Yes Coz allowed only 1.5 hp for the motor can’t hold more than 2hp

It take 10minutes if you using manually pump but if you have electric air much faster

You can buy a motor mount at cabelas or Amazon The brand is Intex and the trolling motor any brand as long you have 55lbs thrust is good enough for this kind of boat.if you want gas motor you can only 2hp for this boat

@ephoysworld1232 Took it out to a big lake and it did amazing . The only mods I am going to do is glue on some straps so I can install aluminum bench seats to its more comfortable and a 40lb trolling motor

If you look the price point I think is worth it and you planning for boating without a motor its ok. But of course the best to have motor

I saw this the other day at Costco on sale currently $179 with manufacture $80 off and thought about it. After seeing your videos, I’m pulling the trigger! Awesome content! Liked and subscribed! Planning to add a motor too. I don’t fish often so I don’t want to spend a ton of money, this is cheap and easy to store and will get the job done. Keep up the good work!

Have you fished in your boat? I had it out today and it was a bit windy and I kept drifting back to shore and having to drive us out of there. Needless to say, I didn't fish but my daughter did, not very successfully with the wind. If you fish, do you use an anchor to not drift?
Yes i love fishing and boating this my hobbies. I use anchor specially when I’m in the good spot for fishing.

About to take the same boat out with my kids to fish soon. How does the boat do with fishing hooks and whatnot. I’m worried my boys will pop it when we are out in the middle of the lake lol.
Just make sure that hook will not hit boat coz no matter how good the boat if hit by hook for sure it gonna puncture. And always wear floating devices
Thanks for this great video showing the Tobin Sports Canyon Pro with the Intex Motor Mount. After 13 years of using a Sea Eagle SE-9, I wanted something lighter and tried the Intex Challenger 3 with the Intex Motor Mount. But the Intex Challenger is only 0.5 PSI and not rigid enough for the motor to work well. Also it is too easy to puncture. I just bought the Tobin Sports Canyon Pro after seeing your video; it works much better with my Minn Kota Endura 34 electric motor than the Intex Challenger. The Intex motor mount is small enough that I can deflate my boat, turn it upside down, and fold it up with the mount still attached, and still fits easily into the back of my Prius. The motor mount only needs to be installed once each season.

This is a honda 4 stroke 2 horsepower I don’t have a link but you can purchase this motor at honda website
What is the recommended/Max PSI for the main tubing and the other parts if one were to use a electric pump?
If you purchase the boat you can use the manual for and include the pump with psi indicator
