I want to be up front, TIDRADIO did send me this radio for free, but I did not get paid for this video and TIDRADIO did not ask me to put anything specific in the video they just sent me the radio to take a look at and make a video. The opinions in this video and future videos on this radio are mine.
This is just a quickie overview of a few things on the TIDRADIO TD-H8 Second Generation Dual Band HT, and what I think is one of the most important things to know when you get a radio, that is how to program it manually using the keypad, so I go over how enter a simplex channel and repeater using the VFO mode and then how to commit that to memory.
I'll be putting 2 more videos up on this, how to use their App and program the radio via Bluetooth from my phone, and then doing a bit of a Transmit/Receive and seeing if their advertised power output of 10 watts holds up.

I'd like to thank you for taking the time to show us how to use the front panel buttons for manual programming. Very handy to know especially if out in the field somewhere and ones phone may have gotten damaged or battery dead etc. Thank you, very informative !!!
Thanks for watching! For someone that uses computers most of the day, I find I don't always like to mess around with computer programming my radios and I find knowing how to program them on the front panel of the radio much more useful. 73! -Kevin

I've noticed a few small things but overall so far the radio has worked as I would expect, specially for one that is fairly inexpensive.
Thank you for a demo that illustrates programming without the preprogrammed bluetooth app.
One thing to add. The BL button is the Backlight when the screen is dark. When the screen is lit, it toggles the Bluetooth on and off.
1 try to set the frequency 155.500 and saved it ti memory. whenh i try to key the mike, it says cancel. i dont get it.

Kevin. Is there a way to lockout/block freq’s without having to delete them??
Have you done the key presses to change this radio to GMRS? I have done this and got to use it in GMRS and have listened to HAM since I do not have my HAM license yet.
I have not tried to change it yet. I am thinking about picking up their GMRS version of this radio so I can have a dedicated radio for each. 73! -Kevin

Help! It seems between "reading and writing" on the app I've screwed up the programing. Can anyone suggest how to reset everything back to factory specs? Or wipe the programing clean so I can reinstall programs through Chirp?

How do I change the language from Chinese to English on an H3
I just got an H3 last week and haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but I've got a video coming up on it. To change it though on the H3 you should be able to press the MENU button and then find menu item 33. That is the menu for language, scroll through the languages until you find English then press MENU again to confirm your choice. That should get your language changed. Thanks 73!

Turn off, press down PTT and 0 and turn on and it should be in GMRS mode with GMRS channels.

Also press the menu lock it in to GMRS , HAM, or Both.
Beware these people are paid to give good reviews, I'm sending my back. Does not program repeaters on Grms if unlocked.
