My goal in my UA-cam channel is to show my audience interesting items, and make interesting videos that shed some light on what can be the best EDC items you can add to your every day carry.
I also on occasion will restore pocket knives and multi tools, and in many cases I do make videos on these restorations!

So nice to see a watchmaker not look down on Timex. Many in the world of horology never give Timex the respect it deserves. This reminds me of one of the watches featured in the book "A Man and his Watch". This was from Dimitri Dimitrov Maitre D at the Tower Bar at the Sunset Tower Hotel.
One night a couple of years ago, the restaurant was jam-packed and Bill Murray walks in with some other people he's always impromptu, so I scramble to find them a place to sit. We head toward one of the coves where it's dark and he asks, "What time is it?" So I look at my watch and tell him it's 8:40 or so. Then he says "Let me see your watch."
I had on an old Baume & Mercier, a classic. It's always semidark in the restaurant, though, so it can be difficult to see the hands. Bill says, "that's garbage, it's no good!" And I reply, "Bill, it shows me the time, right? He says, "sure, it shows the time, but it's no good in the dark." Then he removes the Timex from his wrist and says, "Take this! Because, you see. . .!" He touches the button and it glows. "Take it. you need this!

I've got the white one. Before I go any further I've owned alot I mean ALOT of watches in my past. Some were meh some were great. This one hands down the best. The simplicity and easy to read dial. The way the white dial looks good with any wardrobe. The indigilo. The stretchy band. Every thing about this watch is perfect. I work in a factory for work and this watch is reliable and dependable. Looking forward to wearing and owning this beauty for years to come. Thank you😎

I have a Rolex, Cartier, and two Tags. I bought a similar Timex for the same reason - So I don’t have to worry about scratches and damage. Functionally speaking, my Timex is my favorite. I love that it has date and day, the numbers are really easy to read, and you can’t beat the Indiglo feature.

I once lived a block away from the Hamilton Watch Factory in Lancaster Pennsylvania. I was in second grade when President Eisenhower visited the company. At that time, Hamilton made all kinds of devices for the military. A Hamilton wristwatch cost a lot of money and few regular people had one. Many men carried pocket watches because wristwatches were easily ruined if worn on the wrist. Few wristwatches were shock proof or waterproof. At the time, TIMEX had a saying (Timex watches Take a Licking and Keep on Ticking). They did commercials where they would drive cars over them and shoot them with rifles. They also had a saying after a watch would fail their testing. 😂😅🙂🕒
(It is Time to Buy a New Timex)

I use a Calvin Klein watch for exactly the same reason. It was a gift to me from distant family and it makes the perfect beater. Sapphire crystal, stainless steel construction and an ETA quartz movement. It means I wear something swiss made on my wrist without having to worry too much about it. Therefore a great little watch.

I remember the stretch bands in the 90s. I had a red stretch band watch when I was a kid.

I’ve got one of these and I love it for smart cash wear. Ive also got a g shock and a Casio Duro for work and sport. The Timex always reminds me of the old Stingray tv show - it’s got that 60s retro futuristic look. Great watch 👍

This is the perfect “dad”watch….buying one for the exact same reason…listen i know my seiko skx can handle anything but it is also discontinued as of most of my watches are discontinued….wear and tear doesn’t mean anything if the watch gets lost at the park or the beach

That was very interesting, I also collect watches. I was a lifelong Timex customer until I had several that failed with only very light use. I found the Timex “Customer Service” to be really appalling, so from now on it’s only Casio watches for me. (For beaters) I have never, ever had a problem with a Casio watch.

dived into automatic and now I am going back to casio and timex. The indiglo like vs lume and timers made me abandon that adventure!

I also picked up a easy reader and saving up for a grand seiko , used to have alot of watches some fancy citizen eco-drive and citizen divers and g shocks with what a have I could have bough one lol, but really sat down and had to think about what I wanted in a watch felt the swiss had boring designs felt seiko were nice but had a look at grand seiko and saw what I wanted. Impulse buying got me left with almost 25 watches that singularly were nice but just sat in thier boxes.waitong and spending carefully really helpful.

I just got this watch and couple of Casios yesterday which is my birthday and honestly I'm really liking it so far, and I like you can easily adjust the band's size without any tools. Only issue with it is it keeps tugging my arm hair which is a bit painful which is why I ended up shaving part of it so I can wear it without dealing with having my hair tugged painfully every day. But yeah I really like this watch.

how do you adjust the band without tools on this watch? i thought that was only for the bands with "perfect fit" feature, which is not here?

Expensive watches are just status symbols, even a $15 Casio is accurate enough for anybody. This Timex looks good, I ordered one.

I just purchased a new Timex t2n091 model with no instructions on how to set the day of week and month. How hard would it have been to include a small piece of paper with the instructions printed on it?

Quite simple. Just pull the Crown out to the first click, and then you can turn it counterclockwise or clockwise to change the day or date

so you don't really know how to set the watch

    • @markcoffman494
      @markcoffman494  Рік тому +2

Why do you say that? I believe in the video it was already set on the current time, so I did not want to have re-calibrate it after the video. I am a watchmaker by trade, and for me not to know how to set this watch would mean three (possible 4) things. 1) I’m not good at my job (which I am very good at it) 2) I would have a good reason as to why I either didn’t show the set up/time setting of this wrist watch, or demonstrate the time setting of the watch. Or 3) that you are incapable of setting a wrist watch on the time, and feel that this video did not demonstrate that action to its fullest so you could set you own watch/learn how to…..possible 4th option, you are an idiot 🙄
