Just saw him in Rahway NJ at the PAC theatre , Was 11th row center, but theres not a bad seat anywhere in the house. When he played this piece I nearly cried for all of Yes' and his music has been the soundtrack of my life ....
Love this! Hearing Jon's melodies, Steve's riffs, Chris's basslines, Rick's keyboard mastery, not sure about Alan's drums, but they are in there somewhere!
I've never understood classical music. Recently I learned that the movements, sonatas,... etc in the language of Classical, are all about stories. And pictures/pieces of stories. To listen to this piece of music again is an awaking.
I was sitting ten feet away, although sitting doesn't quite describe what happens when you listen to Rick Wakeman. I've seen many a great pianist, around the world. Only Maurizio Pollini plays like this, cut-diamond precision and soaring tonality. Athena herself, the goddess of music and the arts, created Rick Wakeman.
Wonderful to hear all those 'hooks and timeless melodies' assembled and played so beautifully.😊 PS Id have definitely thrown the piano break bit of "south side of the sky" in for good measure too. It would have fitted perfectly too, just before 'the meeting'. Ohhhh he just did....❤
Wow. Just beautiful. This is one of the definitive keyboardists/pianists of our age. Quick story. For many years I enjoyed the song Morning Has Broken by Cat Stevens. Decades. Particularly the piano accompaniment. At last it occurred to me to utilize the wonders of the web to find out who played the piano on the song. Well, of course. Imagine my reaction, especially as a long time, resolute Yes fan. Rick Wakeman. Of course. Of course it is. An icon.

Beautiful!
Fantastic!!! Rick is incredible. I wish I knew he was playing at the Tupelo. Londonderry is only 30 minutes away from me.

Master
❤❤❤❤❤
Sound of Yamaha is metallic
Imagine how much better he'd play if he pulled back the cuffs of his shirt sleeves! 🤛
They're wrist supports. Had issues for years and these help him manage the pain, I've read.
You call it, Sonata? ))))))
It’s a pop song ….
You call it a pop song?
I call it music. ❤❤
