I love the dwarf hamsters. My boy is so sweet and never had an issue with taming at all. Until I got Peaches the Syrian. She won’t have nothing to do with me at all. And I’ve tried everything you could possibly imagine. But I will be getting some snuggle sacks to help transfer her to and from her enclosure. Good video btw 😄😂
Nice to have another video from you 🥰✨this video is very helpful! I used some of these tips for snowy xx Also I got the cactus bird feeder hide from Aldi and I love it! I also got a very large sand bath for her so she has so much more space and I am so happy with it! 🎃🍂
Just a few tips that you didn't mention here: -When I got my hamster, I taught him to associate a certain sound with being touched. So, whenever I go to touch him or hold him, I click my tongue a number of times before doing so. That way, he doesn't get spooked by me coming up to him out of the blue. -It helps to show them the back of your hand when letting them sniff you (rather than your palm or knuckles) - it's much harder for them to bite the back of your hand, since there's nothing really for them to grab onto lol.
@@TianiSimoneX The last thing definitely helped build my confidence with handling him - he's always been a tame hamster, but at the start, he struggled to decide whether I was a friend or food lol. So, showing him the back of my hand meant that the worst injury I've ever gotten from him is just a small scrape.
I just got a new dwarf hamster called Nellie because she looks like a Elephant, she is grey and has big ears! She is very nervous and this video helped so much!
How big of a tank do you recommend for a dwarf hamster? I got my new and first hamster today so don’t come at me for having a small tank.. do you think that I could get abit of a bigger tank since my parents might let me, and I also let her travel around my room and we do activities?
I'm little bit late, but i just feel so hopeless. I got my long haired syrian month ago and he is little bit like a hermit i guess? He just really doesn't like me (or anyone in this household) and he was handled, etc. before i got him, and he is from breeder. He takes food from my hand, but gets spooked so easily and literally screams from fear if i take his water bottle out of his cage. He doesn't allow me to touch him and i can't even clean his cage, because he starts to scream... He lives in detolf and he has many things to do in it, but he tries to always escape and not even try to do anything else. I have contacted his breeder and she is coming to take a look at him at thursday, but i'm just starting to feel like, i have to give him back and try to start with new hamster, because i have feeling that he doesn't feel comfortable enough to live here...
