I sure hope splash mountain doesn't close before March. I really want to ride it again before it changes I also want my kids to experience splash mountain before they change it too.
So just to be clear, the Tiana update to Splash Mountain is a lazy overlay that includes IP but has literally nothing to do with the story of the movie. They're gonna Cheapek the HECC outta this project, I can just feel it.
i am usually one of those people that gets upset when Disney changes things but it was time for a retheme of that ride. But personally i would have just kept the name splash Mt as to not brake up the 3 Mts

I think “Adventure” in the ride name could be confusing to some guests. This ride is located in “Frontierland,” which is right next to “Adventureland.” In the movie they are chased into the bayou, so maybe “Tiana’s Bayou CHASE?” A big part of the story is about her working hard to CHASE her dreams. If Ziplock doesn’t want to continue sponsoring, maybe CHASE Disney Visa would. Addendum: I didn’t realize this beforehand, but in a recent WDWNT article: it was “…the late Chef Leah Chase who inspired Tiana’s story.”
Personally believe Disney is making a mistake changing Splash Mountain to Princess and the Frog. It's their most popular ride in the park and gives them a lot of revenue, and it belongs in Fantasyland, not Frontierland. The planned music is second tier to 'zip a dee doo dah' and will cost a lot in renovations and planning. Would make more since for them to update the animatronics on Splash Mountain and build another ride for Princess and the Frog in Fantasyland to dissipate the crowds and keep their classic.
I think they did a good job with the update to carousel, but why not update really easy things like the moms laptop, the TV, the computer monitor? Could easily just throw newer ones in there and it looks a lot more modern. Throw like a futuristic curved monitor or TV or something in there
Horrible name is fitting to a horrible retheme. Prices and the Frog should get there own ride and let Splash Mountain stay the classic it is. Splash has been my favorite since my first trip when I was 5 and has been my daughters favorite since I first brought her at 8. I love the photos and memories we have on that ride. She and I are both very sad my son will not get to enjoy it.

Disney knows precisely what they are doing; this one "redo" is the most efficient way to accustom Disney fans to below-Six Flags standards. Moving forward, DisneyCorp knows they can deliver low brow, simple, dumbed-down experiences HOWEVER if marketed to the right crowd it will be a glorious achievement for humanity.

WDW News, The small touch's they've done to the carousel of progress update is just great. Did you see the que ( 8 to 10 people) in line for the $5,000 cocktail? I wonder if you need more than one? Now you have to ask yourself do you buy the cocktail or the new beer from Singapore brewed on re-cycled waste water? To heck with changing the theme of Splash Mountain, Keep Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear, Brer Fox, and the rest of the Brer gang. We want ALL the brer critters to remain. There are too few E ticket attractions that are based on movies from Walt's day!!! We DON'T need another attraction in Critter Country that eradicates and evicts the rightful original inhabitants.. Tiana needs to find a place of her own, and NOT confiscate the critters property!!!!
This ride opened in the 80s, about a movie that's not publicly obtainable by any official means like almost none of your points are valid. Your whole argument is also extremely tonedeaf. But if you actually knew or understood Disney History, you'd know that Walt had the opinion that Disneyland should always be updating, always be cutting edge and ahead of the competitors. He didn't want a stagnant park. The whole section of the park that Critter Country encompasses didn't even exist back in Walt's day. What you're experiencing is called "Entitlement".
I’m from Louisiana, born and raised here. I actually live right off a bayou. I’m just a little confused, LOL. We don’t have mountains here; we don’t even have hills. The only thing that even remotely could be mistaken for, I don’t even want to say a hill, a large dirt mound would be the levees. We don’t have waterfalls or drop-down points. As I tell everyone why we don’t have basements here in Louisiana I’ll share with everybody else. What do you call a basement in Louisiana…..An indoor pool. The highest elevation in Louisiana Is Driskill Mountain which is 535 feet above sea level. I know Mountain sounds tall but there is nothing mountain about Driskill Mountain, LOL. It is more like an ant hill. There are buildings in New Orleans that are taller than this “mountain” , kind of puts it in perspective, huh? Also the other big issue is the highest elevation in the state of Louisiana is nowhere close to New Orleans or south Louisiana. It’s probably about 5 or 5 1/2 hours northwest of New Orleans. It is close to Shreveport, Louisiana which is in the northwest corner of Louisiana. Tiana did not come anywhere close to Shreveport, Louisiana and Shreveport was even made fun of in that movie by the lightning bug, Ray. In the movie when they meet Ray for the first time in the bayou and she says we are from a long way from here and Ray says, you from Shreveport, that was shade being thrown at the northern area of Louisiana. People from South Louisiana forget we people from North Louisiana actually are still part of this state, LOL. Anyway, I digress. This ride makes absolutely zero sense being attached to the movie, Disney’s Princess and the Frog. I think Disney should have come to the state to realize this state is flatter than flat and it would not make sense having something called a mountain attached to this state. I understand, a little bit why Disney decided to move away from what is currently at Splash Mountain. I understand why they thought what they are changing this into was a good way to combat the movie that the current characters in Splash Mountain came from. However, in my own personal opinion which doesn’t mean much it needs to make sense what you’re changing it into. Having the state of Louisiana and a mountain attached together is just ridiculous.
I don't think a new finale is needed since literally all of the tech shown is now reality and mainstream. Maybe get soundalike voice actors to update the references?

The bayou adventure on a mountain in a swamp set in the old west. Top notch theming for six flags. Should just rename it woke mountain, check your privileges at the door and travel through this entrapping tale of check boxes and virtue signaling. The best theory I've heard is that it's an engagement ring/proposal setup. Someone pointed out that a few other high-scale restaurants do this, and it will include a ring (though not one that's worth quite as much as you're paying for the whole experience.) One clue is that the drink's name is slightly evocative of diamonds or precious gems.
I have to admit, I was initially upset when I found at that the beloved "Splash Mountain" was going to be rethemed but now that I've seen more of the concept art as well as other videos related to the subject, I'm actually looking forward. I am still unhappy. I just love Splash Mtn. The song just makes Disney for me and ties deep emotion to me. I simply feel like the castle is being torn down. Just my opinion.
@@crystalrose8210 Believe me, Splash Mountain will always hold a special place in my heart. It was one of the first rides I rode during my first trip to Walt Disney World and I'm going to miss it dearly. I'm also upset that they remove the song Zippity Do Dah from the Festival Fantasy parade. That song, for me, captures the essence of Disney Magic. The lyrics are so infectious and really sum up everything you can expect from a trip to the Disney parks. However, I'm trying to be positive about the new attraction coming to the parks and from what I've seen in this video and others, it seems as though the Imagineers have really put a lot of thought and consideration into this project and are really trying to honor the legacy of The Princess and the Frog. I guess time will tell if this new attraction lives up to its predecessor.
Going down the Bayou, would have been a better name. Overlay, suggests just adding this to this bit, moving that, etc. Like the NBC one that Disneylands Mansion gets at Halloween. My expectations are low. I quite like the new TTA narrative, definitely Paul Rudd.
This retheming of Splash Mountain will work well in Disneyland. You could tie it with Pirates using the P and F fireflies. Change Cafe Orleans to Tiana's Place with the same great food. Not sure how to duplicate that at WDW wish they would try. I like roller-coasters too but not everyone does. While it may appear that Disney's plan is to eliminate families, we do need to leave in some rides for the young, young at heart, and motion sickness crowd.
Did they make any changes to the daughter's crazy eyes/stare in the Christmas sequence? My daughter was in a wheelchair due to hip surgery last visit and we sat on the front row--if you get the chance, check out the show from the center front. It feels like she looks at you and her eyes look demon-possessed. Very freaky....

@@WDWNT I’m surprised I never noticed, I last rode in March, granted we did it late at night during the period my mind is trying to calm down, hence why I’ve only done Space Mountain once because we always go to Tomorrowland at night and I only go once a year lol

The best theory I've heard is that it's an engagement ring/proposal setup. Someone pointed out that a few other high-scale restaurants do this, and it will include a ring (though not one that's worth quite as much as you're paying for the whole experience.) One clue is that the drink's name is slightly evocative of diamonds or precious gems.
The 3 shots are really expensive if you look at the price per bottle outside and it also includes a tour of the Skywalker Ranch.
I have to admit, I was initially upset when I found at that the beloved "Splash Mountain" was going to be rethemed but now that I've seen more of the concept art as well as other videos related to the subject, I'm actually looking forward. Except there is no official closing date. Just because they say what might happen, doesn’t it would come true. And after all, they don’t seem to have enough money cause it has been bled out too muc for their wokeness.l, even after Lightyear got flopped for that.
I am still unhappy. I just love Splash Mtn. The song just makes Disney for me and ties deep emotion to me. I simply feel like the castle is being torn down. Just my opinion.
@@crystalrose8210 Believe me, Splash Mountain will always hold a special place in my heart. It was one of the first rides I rode during my first trip to Walt Disney World and I'm going to miss it dearly. I'm also upset that they remove the song Zippity Do Dah from the Festival Fantasy parade. That song, for me, captures the essence of Disney Magic. The lyrics are so infectious and really sum up everything you can expect from a trip to the Disney parks. However, I'm trying to be positive about the new attraction coming to the parks and from what I've seen in this video and others, it seems as though the Imagineers have really put a lot of thought and consideration into this project and are really trying to honor the legacy of The Princess and the Frog. I guess time will tell if this new attraction lives up to its predecessor.
Tiana's Bayou Adventure = Cheap Overlay
Going down the Bayou, would have been a better name. Overlay, suggests just adding this to this bit, moving that, etc. Like the NBC one that Disneylands Mansion gets at Halloween. My expectations are low.
I quite like the new TTA narrative, definitely Paul Rudd.

This retheming of Splash Mountain will work well in Disneyland. You could tie it with Pirates using the P and F fireflies. Change Cafe Orleans to Tiana's Place with the same great food. Not sure how to duplicate that at WDW wish they would try.
I like roller-coasters too but not everyone does. While it may appear that Disney's plan is to eliminate families, we do need to leave in some rides for the young, young at heart, and motion sickness crowd.
Did they make any changes to the daughter's crazy eyes/stare in the Christmas sequence? My daughter was in a wheelchair due to hip surgery last visit and we sat on the front row--if you get the chance, check out the show from the center front. It feels like she looks at you and her eyes look demon-possessed. Very freaky....
