I have been using Peaks from day 1 of the Peak1-3-4, first as a snowkite, and then 3 years ago as a foiling kite. I hesitated on the peak 5 with the hopes that it would be this hybrid. I hope FS did not make the Hybrid too tame and compromise on performance. Sounds like Marabou would sut me better at this point, but I have never actually tried one. Look forward to objective flight testing and comparison to the Peaks, such as size:power, comparative turning speed, drift/stall, depower , and overpower characterists (flapping, stabiltiy, etc). Hope you can use them in real conditions soon!
Do you think this kite would be good as a first foil/single-skin kite? I've only ever flown LEI's, but I'm interested in the Marabou or Hybrid for lightwind days foiling.
Yes, I think the Marabou would make a good first foil/ single skin. I found the handling to be quite easy and straightforward. Both the 10 and 12m have a lot of power for lightwind kiting/foiling. Let me know if you need one!
