Having scaring the hoes as 1 and guts as 2 is deadass such a perfect ranking it’s the same as mine and the Olivia Rodrigo hate is so dumb. I think people just dismiss her music as bland pop without paying any attention to it. And Peggy one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time alongside Danny brown
My Top 5 for 2023 are 5.) And Then You Pray Here For Me- Westside Gunn 4.) Utopia- Travis Scott 3.) SCARING THE HOES -JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown 2.) Javelin- Sufjian Steven’s 1.) Lets Start Here- Lil Yacthy
1. This Is Why by Paramore(I loved everything about it) 2. Subtle Body Dawn by Anna Wise(This one was beautifully crafted and her entire discography is amazing if anyone wants to check it out) 3. GUTS by Olivia Rodrigo(I love it and I can’t wait for her next album) 4. Red Moon In Venus(This one is full of amazing songs and I’ll still be obsessed with it when I turn old and grey in 2082) 5. Bewitched by Laufey(It was so beautiful that I almost cried and I can’t really cry at all) 6. Lahai by Sampha(Everything about this album was amazing and I want more from him) 7. UTOPIA by Travis Scott(Amazing album and that’s all I gotta say about it) That’s about it cause I didn’t listen to enough albums from this year 😭😭😭

Honestly Great List but i CANT Believe THAT BELOVED JAZZ PARADISE by McKinley Dixon wasn't on the list, i don't know if you haven't heard it or sum but its gass
great video but you NEED to start listening to Che Ecru he somehow isnt very known but ive fallen in love with his past two albums. he is like psycadelic trap i would say, but sometimes he branches out into some other more beautiful genres i cant even describe like on peppermint which is my favorite song of his. ive been loving ur chanel despite how horrible your rankings are keep up the good work
Check out SPEED RUN by Frost Children if you liked the new Gecs! A few video game samples as well as some of the best hyperpop bangers from last year fall on it, definitely worth a listen.
I did a little top 4 vinyls of the year (just shared with my friends on instagram story) but I had the same 1 and 2 aha. Summed up my thoughts to a t :)
Not new music but if you ever wanna listen to an album that had a giant impact on hip hop and R&B I STRONGLY recommend Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes, came out in 1969, only 4 songs but still 45 minutes long, sampled hundreds of times, incredible mixes of jazz, soul, classical, and even some pretty early forms of hip hop. The album cover as well was very influential and he was the one that popularized the look of wearing chains.
Yeah 100 gecs do be like that but I honestly kinda mess with them and I have fun listening to them but I can totally understand why someone might hate it😂kind of over the top and obnoxious plus kinda stupid at times almost like I’m being trolled but in a good way for me idk🤷♂️(I suppose that’s the point though) also at least their music has mad flavour😋🔥and also in a world with lots of short attention spans for reasons many know it’s the perfect kind of music for maintaining your attention. Like 10, 000 gecs is made for 12 year olds playing Minecraft and scrolling through tic tok all day.( plus me) Alright that’s my review.
1. Wallsocket by underscores (pop, rock, electronic, indie, hyperpop, etc.) 2. Ultra Paradise by Angel Electronics (noisy pop punk) 3. ANIMALS by Kassa Overall (jazz, rnb & rap) HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL OF THESE !!
