Yes, wasn’t sneakers. However, when I purchased a expensive bottle of cologne from England, the custom agency in Ohio did request my social security. I was skeptical too but after research and speaking to the representative it turned out to be legit.
I spend almost 1000 for 2 pairs dunk what the clot,and when I got them ,there’s no carb pack.they told me they have product description says it’s without pack on their website,but there’s nothing on stock x app ,mostly people buying at app,I asked them nothing noted at app, they didn’t reply me anything for this
I ve worked at ups for 23 years. As a driver. I’ve never seen or have asked a customer for their #SSN. I’ve delivered Submarine parts worth over $50-75k shipped from over seas. Once your pkg is in the ups warehouse it’s cleared Customs. 1k is considered High Value. But the ones they really monitor are pkgs 5k & up.
That’s not what he said it’s for customs clearance. I once bought a body kit for a car from Germany and FedEx did call me to fill out info I don’t even remember if social was asked for but it happens. By the time it reaches u as a driver it’s already cleared

StockX personnel should not be the ones requesting that information PERIOD. A Customs officer and Customs officer alone needs to be collecting that. What kind of trouble can StockX get in for that?

I worked for Dhl, Someone from the company you are shipping it with in the imports dept calls you and ask for it then forwards your info to customs…. Customs is not going to call everybody. That requires a lot of man power… 😂

Ok, let me ask you this...would you have had to give your SSN if you would have purchased ANY item from overseas if it's over 1k?? If so, then it should be stated CLEARLY on StockX at the time of purchase in the form of a warning that you have to click "OK" to get past.

Crazy! I could understand customs asking, but that's it. I've bought tons of things overseas and have never been asked for my ssn. Soon we're going to be asked for our ssn at Mc ds to get a sweet tea. Have a great day
Everything that enters the United States over a certain dollar amount (US customs changes almost monthly with policy) is subject to inspection. Millions of of items enter the US regularly and Customs has an automated system that does checks everyday. Not everything gets flagged for inspection and or needing more information. Since the buying party/cosignee is you, customs needs your information to complete the entry. Customs will only contact the forwarder ,in this case UPS, and or the customs broker per policy. That is why customs contacted UPS and they in turn contacted you then StockX. Really unfortunate situation and StockX probably has this on their policy page in the fine print. I’m a customs broker for clarification

@@DannyMoore2369 hopefully this answers your questions. The customs system for the US is very convoluted and confusing and they write their website articles assuming you know what their lingo means so it is easy to get lost

UPS lost my Cactus Jack Air Max Ones last summer. They showed up at the UPS distribution center and never arrived. I'm surprised you actually spoke with someone rather than a machine. I filed two claims and NEVER got an email or any kind of resolution. Thanks goodness Nike's customer service took care of me because UPS could care less.
No idea if this can be tracked, but I spent considerable time reading up on UPS facilities stealing shipments from Nike, Yeezy, and StockX.

I bought a 1,390 dollar pair of shoes 1 pair 4 months ago from stockx came from Germany and I didn't have to give my SSN to ups I had to sign for them cause they were over 750 but never heard of this

I did a chargeback with StockX and they tried to put a hold on my account. Once they noticed which “percentile” I was, they immediately removed the hold and let me keep purchasing. But even so I haven’t purchased since the patent bred issues

Totally legal, every import over $800 requires customs clearance, to do so they need your SSN as you are referenced as the importer into the USA, this is being triggered because of the value that was reported…
this isnt a known thing whatsoever and its not listed clearly on stockx platform when spending that much $. also stockx asked me for SS in addition to UPS
This is not true I bought almost a 1,400 dollar shoe off stockx it came from Germany and all I had to do was sign the ups thing and show my id because it was over 750

I bought the turtle doves on here for $1500 or 1800 never asked about my social only somebody had to get the shoes in front of the door

I had purchased items from the UK and it totaled close to $1000. UPS contacted me and said I needed to fill out a form and possibly pay import and customs taxes. The form did ask for my SSN. Later on I asked UPS why I needed to pay taxes on the shipment and they said because the shipper had said the value of the item was over $1500 even though i paid less then that

I purchased a pair from stockx and it was missing the vintage card, the box was broken in two spots and the papers inside were ripped up. I paid $320 for the shoes and was not impressed with what I received. Stockx said it passed their authentication process and would not do anything. I was at least expecting a discount or for them to send me the missing card. I will never buy from Stinkx again.

They order overseas bc most pairs. in EU or Aisa are cheaper then US.for example in US Lost and found are 400 to 500$ in EU from 300 to 450$, SB aj 4s EU 300 to 400 us 450 to 600$

I've done with stockx they sent me a fake pair and a damaged box. After those I was done buying from stockx I cannot trust them. eBay and Goat are much better with better customer service.

Technically any amount you spend for an item that comes oversee is subject to inspection if flagged by customs. Although very unlikely, it can happen. The only way around it is if you buy from a company that manufactures it’s product oversees. The company provides their info not you. But if you directly buy a product from oversees, no matter the low the price is, you can still end up needing to provide your information/social. And since on stockx, you aren’t buying from them, you are buying the shoe directly from the seller using stockx as a middle man. Which makes you subject to provide information if needed.

I lived in Germany for about 6 years (prior service) and I can assure you that what you experienced was normal. But as I stated before, UPS asked you for your social not StockX. StockX played the middle man because you acted like a pessimistic child. I understand your fears in todays society. Not too many if any honest people are left in the world at all. You had a lack of knowledge and decided to blame the middle man instead of being upset with UPS. StockX doesn't control US Customs.
