    Interesting reviews! The Chelsea v. Arsenal game was so close, and all I really gathered from it was that I wish the WSL had VAR already. Originally I didn’t trust Heaslip after that City game last year where she was totally card-happy. But I’m not one to complain about Katie McCabe missing the City game 🤷‍♀️. And it doesn’t help that McCabe consistently acts like this, punishment or not. Your videos are always the highlights of my days even if I disagree (rarely) with you guys, I love hearing different opinions on each game and team! I’m glad you both got to witness a win at Stamford Bridge too 🙌

    Chelsea didn't deserve to lose, a draw would have been a fair result, but then again the numbers don't lie. Arsenal weren't clinical, had no depth on the bench and eventually ran out of ideas.

    Tackling players in the box - not a pen in the eyes of the AFC fans. Abusing refs - not a red card in the eyes of the AFC fans. Starting to think they might be a little biased there lol

      Nailed on decisions. Zero justification to blame the ref🤷‍♂️

    What happened to Kirby fir Brighton do they have lot of injuries

      A few injuries, mainly though teams are figuring them out. Quite common with overachieving teams!

    7:57 These numbers is why I prefer to believe what I watched. That was a close game. Implying that Chelsea were way better is false. Chelsea won that game because of their quality from the bench. We don’t have an 11 better than Chelsea AND the depth is non-existent.

      The numbers just make the game easier to interpret. Stats don't lie, unless applied incorrectly. Arsenal's best chance was Maanum's shot that went close but that was still a difficult chance. Chelsea had a few they should've scored. They created 2.9xG to Arsenal's 1.2xG🤷‍♂️

    Palace now has Clarissa Larisey. I predict she will have a strong influence on the results. Now, PLAY HER!!!!!

    Thanks for the positivity re Leicester 🥲 last week was so frustrating, Amandine said in her post match we did everything right (after the nightmare start) but just couldn't get anything. The Liverpool game felt like the vindication for that. I'm not sure what's going on with Jani but she's been so solid outside of these two incidents I hope it's just a momentary blip. You can feel the confidence building in the team now, particularly in front of goal. Having Sam Tierney back in the side is massive, you don't realise her impact until she's not there (although we did manage the Chelsea result without her). Slowly getting more attacking options back is also massively helpful. I agree if we can keep consistently performing like that whilst getting a few more players back, there's no reason we shouldn't be looking up the table. I think what Amandine's done for us not just tactically but in terms of mentality as well is incredible.

      Agreed fully! Great comment!🙌
      Big fan of Miquel. Just feel Leicester need more investment, especially in the attack, and definitely a renewal of Rantala's contract.

      @TheWomensFootballChat I 100% agree about Jutta, if we can get her back fairly soon then game changer (literally!) Just been looking and the thing is we do have a fair bit of depth in attack when everyone's fit.. I think we have around 7-8 solid options vs say Everton's 4 or 5. If and when we can get more players back in the coming weeks that depth will hopefully show itself. I'm really impressed with Miquel bringing younger players like Las into the setup as well, recognising her potential and giving her a chance. We're in a precarious situation for sure, but we've been unlucky and I think there are so many positives to take from this season already, despite the lack of goals and some frustrating results!

    Once again having more possession doesn't mean you were better, Chelsea had 6 big chances arsenal had non.

    • @TheWomensFootballChat
      @TheWomensFootballChat  8 днів тому +3

      Exactly! Many people assume possession = dominance. However, Arsenal had more of the ball yet rarely looked like scoring

    Alright, I can't keep it quiet. Lauren James's arrival did not panic Arsenal. The combination of three forwards arriving, after Foord had left and Maanum came on to turn the ball over... how many times? That turned it. Little did not come 'through' James, but the touch she got was probably too subtle for the referee to notice. I do not blame the referee.
    Regarding McCabe, how can you say she feels she's above the law? She is a baller an done of the most-carded players in the WSL. She was always going to get sent off but the pen turned the game so she lost her head. You want immunity? How about that hit on Little in the opening minutes (was it Cuthbert or Bright?).
    Chelsea have two first quality sides and are still spending liberally. Once Arsenal brought on Eidevall's Scandanavians, it was over. Chelsea will keep winning everything for that reason.

    Come on guys do your homework - McCabe got a straight red, after the 1st yellow, not two yellows. And she doesn't get off lightly. Don't agree Chelsea were the better side - why not acknowledge Arsenal chances and how they were able to pass through them at times? Disappointing analysis. Arsenal lost as they couldn't replace Ford with like. More depth needed for Arsenal. Can match Chelsea 1st 11 but not depth.

    • @TheWomensFootballChat
      @TheWomensFootballChat  8 днів тому +5

      Sorry for the slight confusion over the red card. Wasn't clear watching it live and wasn't the focus of my analysis considering the time constraints.
      Not sure what you want us to analyse? Arsenal failed to break down Chelsea with much consistency, didn't create a "big chance" and only had a handful of shots. Hampton was barely tested. Analysis can be a matter of opinion though so happy to hear if you disagree.

    • @fionaquigley9457
      @fionaquigley9457 8 днів тому +1

      @TheWomensFootballChat if you are defining 'big chance' by if it required a save, then that's not helpful. Both Mead and Russo had at least 4 chances between them that while off target, fine margins made the difference - that's the problem with the stats you read out. Anyways, we will see how it translates into form in the CL. I think Bright will be found out there.

    • @TheWomensFootballChat
      @TheWomensFootballChat  8 днів тому +2

      I'm not defining a big chance, it's a statistic.
      Opta defines it as a situation where a player should reasonably be expected to score, usually in a one on one scenario or from very close range when the ball has a clear path to goal and there is low to moderate pressure on the shooter. Penalties are always considered big chances.
      Arsenal created ZERO statistical big chances.

      @@fionaquigley9457 The only thing Arsenal had better than Chelsea was possession which was 55-45 so not that much, Chelsea has better everything else, like double of Arsenal shots and and shots on target, also like double corners and so on.
