    Strongly considering one of these as a more travel friendly PA. Daisy chain it up to a second 1000w speaker for more lively pub gigs. So versatile from the looks of it

    I got mine 2 days ago, I have so many ideas about what they should have done already and what the perfect bag design would be. I instantly loved it and then just started coming up with things that should have been incorporated...not that I wasn't happy with it, but what could make it even better! Lol

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  2 місяці тому +1

      Yeah I heard you.
      Wish the live streaming could be from the USBC on the mixer, not the speaker and the bag should be a roller bag. It’s far too heavy with a mic stand attached as well and all your cables on your back.
      Lots of other tweaked but I would suggest feed it back to Mackie and let’s see what they implement if they make a version 2?!

    • @stonksandspeculation1166

      @@JohnPaulMusicUK idk if I'd buy a version 2. People say the price isn't that bad, but I think all music equipment prices need to get taken down a bit. They should have made an all-in-one bundle with the bag, footswitch, their wireless mic, and speaker for $800.
      I'd buy a new detachable mixer that replaces the old one assuming the made it to fit into the speaker, had a headphone jack and a livestream built into it.
      You killed it on that thing man. I'm new to looping so I'm still try to figure mine out. But you were laying down some cool stuff.

    Have you tried to hookup your iPad and loopy pro to the mackie ShowBox? I am wondering how it shows up in the audio interface do you see multiple channel inputs? Can you loop and record inside Loopy Pro with it? I am seriously considering that unit. I tried a headrush FRFR 112 speaker and it had a problem so I sent it back and now considering either this one or maybe the Spark live or perhaps one of the other mackie battery powered speakers. I am currently using my Xsonic Xtone Pro as my audio interface into Loopy Pro on my IPad pro and want something that works with it all and has loud good sound even for my bass ukulele. Would love to hear your thoughts about this as you have been using both Loopy Pro and the Mackie. Thank you for any help you can provide.

    Have you tried running your showbox into a DAW via USB-C yet?
    I'm new to recording music, but not new to youtube and was already familiar with OBS...so, what I've been doing is running OBS with video and audio, and adding my showbox into OBS as a microphone to capture live performances, but I feel like I çould layer sounds more easily into a DAW (Granted, idk anything about them or if there's any good free ones). But using this looper that doesn't let you undo a loop, straight into OBS via a recorded live performance just isnt cutting it.
    Technically, i can take the video i already recorded, add that video as a media source in OBS, and record something over the previous video and as a new video....but that seems a bit unnecessary too.

    Subscribed! That thing sounds better in your demo than the other demos I've seen of it. Maybe it's your playing, the pickup or the miking? This device is everything I want in one box functionally at a pretty reasonable price. Your video wants to make me demo it my self when I get a chance. What pickup are you using? Any other devices in the signal chain? Would you recommend something like this or an Everse 8 over a good quality amp? I play 90% at home with a looper and 10% out.

      Hey 👋
      Yeah it’s awesome! There is nothing other than my guitar (Yamaha APX 500) and the mic (Fifine K8) plugged in.
      The other thing is that the SD card recording is awesome and a great feature is definitely getting a foot switch (any will work)
      Haven’t played with the EVerse 8 yet.
      But the extra features like USBC out for live streaming - like I did here, the breakaway mixer and 12hr battery. It’s just all works so well!

    Hey JP, would love to see that comparison video with the loudbox versus the Everse 8 that you briefly mentioned in passing on your Livestream the other day. The consensus I'm hearing people mention is that even though the wattage output is the same @ 400 (between the Mackie and Everse) the quality of sound is noticeably different in favor of the Everse 8. I think a lot of people feel like the Everse 8 knocked the Bose S1 off of its perch in sound quality and output wattage when it came out and has yet to have a competitor return the favor.

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  6 місяців тому +1

      That’s very interesting and the EVERSE 8 (and 12) have firmly landed on my radar the past few weeks. I’m gonna reach out to EV and see what we can do. 😊

    • @georgchekinoff239
      @georgchekinoff239 5 місяців тому

      Is Mackie really louder than Everse 8? The sound pressure level in Mackie is 122 dB versus 121 dB in Everse 8, is there a noticeable difference? What sounds better at maximum volume?

    • @gerimayawhyte154
      @gerimayawhyte154 5 місяців тому +1

      @@gerimayawhyte154 I think so too, I just wanted to make sure. I'm more interested in the sound quality at the limit of the amplifiers of these speakers. Which one sounds more natural and pleasant.

      @@georgchekinoff239 I'm not pro Mackie or Everse8 but there have been a lot people in the comments (in more than one review video that I've watched) saying that that they were unhappy with their Showbox. Some of them have swapped them out for an Everse8 as well and reported that they were a lot more pleased with the audio.

    Hey John Paul, I am trying to decide if I should order the showbox for my solo duo gigs to use with my Sheeran Looper X? or just go with a Gigcaster 5 on my pedalboard next to my looper X for a live gigs and streaming on location? Any advice or input that might help me make that decision? I keep going back-and-forth on the idea.

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  6 місяців тому +1

      Hey 👋
      Oooh.. now that’s an interesting thought.
      In one hand you have a 6 input speaker that is also a mixer with its own effects, SD card for recording and USB for live streaming.
      And on the other hand you have a mixer that will do all the same.. except the SD card (and card recording is only on the Gigcaster 8)
      Step back. You have the Looper X. What exactly do you want the Showbox or the GigCaster to do? If it’s a mixer then you could get a £50 basic beginner mixer and send multiple outs from the X to the mixer to manage or from the mixer to the X to manage, or both (with enough channels).
      If you want a PA with a mixer it’s the Showbox IMO. If you want a mixer with effects.. don’t you have all the effects on the X and you could just get a midi controller with faders on?
      Being devils Advocate for a reason 😉
      Stand back and ask.. what do you want to do?

      @@JohnPaulMusicUK Thanks for your quick reply, WOW! You're awesome! So, here's what I'm trying to do... I have an XL Gator G-Tour Board with Looper X, and because you can't apply FX to input as of yet, I have a mixer on the board, not only for my Lead Vocal, but for my Duo partners Vocal in order to have Reverb while singing. So, 2 Lead Vocals, with my Guitar and a stereo feed from Looper X for my loops. I use 3 or 4 channels total. Then I go from my mixer to the PA. I also have a Singular Midi Maestro for Midi for one shot Fade, All Start/Stop, etc... My issue is the mixer I use right now doesn't have USB or a way for streaming. It's just an analog Yamaha MG06. I'm trying to replace that with a way to easily plug in my phone or MacBook Pro for live streaming on location. I know it's a lot!

      My only issue is the showbox doesn’t seem to get that loud. So I was trying to use it as my monitor and do the mix out to main PA speaker for the audience, however, I am working now to try to adjust levels so that I can actually hear the showbox as a monitor.

      did the iphone come up with a message? are you on iphone 15 or older?
      If its a 15 it should just work. if its an ihone 14 or older you will need the USB Camera adapter.
      Are you plugged in at the mixer or at the back? it should be the back. the port for the mixer only supports charging.

      @thelights9079 traditionally the iPhone needed a USB Camera adapter to send the audio to the iPhone. But since USB-C that would end up being a faff as you would have to go from USBC to USB and then over to Lightning.
      Maybe connect with Mackie support and see if they know what the solution is.
