Jouten aren't really blue they are just bigger aesier it's because of marvel people think they are blue
Lets be honest:
Taking action against some children because of a prophezie is a sure fire way to ensure that this prophecy will take place.
Trying to prevent any prophecy is a sure fire way to guarantee that prophecy.
So many myths in so many cultures have this thread
"One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it."

Odin: oh no this snake will be to dangerous
Also Odin: Lest's yeet it where it can grow all it wants
Well he did that so it could be someone else's problem
Fun fact: it spent its life just chilling except when some idiotic god provoked the serpent

Jormingander- interesting
Also Jormungand, "hey dad um, mom? Can i have a simple playing with Fenrir? Just a little fight"
Earth as in land not the planet Earth. Jormingander circled the seas.
Jörmungandr*
Jormungand is not an animal. He's a god technically
he said on EARTH
The manner the Aesir treated Loki’s offsprings created the very monsters they feared.
Tragic Irony seems to have been very popular with all mythologies.
@@gimmer6014 That’s very true I’ve seen it in Greek, Asian, Native American mythologies as well.
Yeah, very common theme in lots of mythologies, trying to prevent something only to result in manifesting it.
That's why Odin fear Fenrir
It was the prophecy. The fate of the gods, cant change fate
Odin: Takes children from their mother and treats them like dangerous monsters.
Also Odin: Is surprised when they become dangerous monsters.
He was kind to hella
"Fenrir inherited some of the worst traits from Loki, his father." None of which you care to mention or elaborate on, I see.
op is trying to keep the video pg 13. I'm not interested in this channel after noticing that.
His rage, bloodlust, deceitfulness and above all his extreme violent hatred towards mankind. Fenrir is pretty close to the Norse version of Evil as you can get..
You really haven't ever heard of Fenrir before? That's on you not the content creator here, go watch more videos on him if you're interested
We got some edgy vikings in the chat
And Loki inherited some of the worst traits from his father Kratos called RAGE
I love the way Hel is beautifully drawn, but I think that the story is incomplete, Loki killing Balder drawn Odin's fury upon him and as punishment Narfi was turned into a wolf and ended up killing Vali, afterwards Loki was imprisoned on the stone with chaines made out of Vali's intrails and when Ragnarok began Loki faught against the gods side by side with Fenrir, Jormungandr and an army of dead warriors provided by Hel
That was a story for another time.
The person that Drew the comic and Drew hel made her look very beautiful and badass sitting on a throne of skulls
Once again, Loki was not an evil god. This was the work of Christian influence which changed religions to reflect the bible and they decided Loki would reflect Satan. Scholars agree this was not Loki's original character trait. His children were not evil either. And the story of Odin kidnapping the children was a tale about how his actions ended up starting Ragnerok. Had he left the children alone or had he raised them with respect and not chained up the wolf, they would have not had ill will towards Asgard. Fenrir actually loved and respected the gods, bonding with them. Odin betrayed his trust which started Fenrir's hatred. Just because Odin was wise, didnt mean he was smart. This is reflected countless times in many original stories.
What sources? U have no idea if this had anything to do with Christianity
@@lastminutewonder9602 the christians practically destroyed norse religion or modified it to reflect christianity hence Baldur being depicted as Jesus like when older sources reference him being similar to Thor. Point being they tried to change norse culture to reflect their own making it seem like their were devil and jesus like figures in the religion when that wasnt necessarily the case. Even the Prose Edda one of the main sources of evidence for all norse myth wasnt written by an icelandic man trying to protect the religion from being destroyed by Christianity so he modified some stories to reflect christianity with the hope it wouldnt be destroyed. Such a shame so much was destroyed as we will never know original stories or stories that were destroyed completely.
@@lastminutewonder9602 Do your own research before you speak. Ragnarok wasnt even written by the norse but a christian to make it seem like norse gods were weaker and could die unlike the Christian god.
@@lastminutewonder9602 almost all sources about the Norse myth I think were made after the area was fully christianized and in history Christianity has had a habit of retconning religions or putting their own spin on stuff especially ones that are polytheistic
I think Fenrir kept a good relationship with Tyr afterwards though, it looked like neither of them wanted any of this to happen.
I wonder if the serpent 🐍 will b on Loki s2. We’ve seen the wolf 🐺, the horse 🐴 had a cameo in Thor, and Hel was changed into his and Thor’s sister.
Which horse?
If I remember correctly I think that was the horse Odin arrived on to save Thor and the others.
@@mikewmccann Yep, when Odin saved them from the Frost Giants before Thor’s banishment. Watch that scene again and look closely at it to c it’s 8 legs 🦵🏼.

I love Hel. She's my favorite character and God(dess) in Norse mythology! I really love her design her, even though it's not entirely accurate I still love it. Please do more videos that involve her! 💚💀🖤
I never see Loki as an evil god I just see him as a Chaotic Neutral Trickster who loves pranks. I also don’t view his children as being evil they were just kidnapped by the all-father and that led them on the path of vengeance.
And at last we get Loki’s motivation for killing Baldr, he wanted revenge for what the gods did to his own kids.

Loki was definitely the most cultured man of the Aesir
What do you mean
The second timestamp means that Loki was being f'd by a male horse and got that thing
Yo! Am I the only one that noticed that they look the same with the exception of the blue skin? Lol
If Odin left Loki's family alone, there wouldn't be no end of the God's. Odins actions alone brought the end of them
Odin saying "it's a threat to all Asgard" is basically him saying "It's a threat to me." If you read between the lines you'd realize Odin only cares about himself.
that's nonsense
Loki's kids were treated as guilty even though they'd done nothing wrong. Just goes to show how evil the Aesir are.
The fact that he mentioned the names of the parents of the other children but did not mention sleipnir's had me laughing
SUHM:"Fenrir inherited most of the worse traits as his father Loki have"
Me: Could you elaborate?
SUHM: "no."
Imagine if Atreus gets banged by a horse in the game lol. I suppose no game will ever try to portray real Loki. Haha
Well that would happen if he starts thinking like a father instead of a general, but Atreus is not always a calm and reasonable person like his father.
in the Game Sleipnir Existed already and Odin is Riding that Horse in his Murals
Loki and Atreus are one
His grandfather Zeus got pregnant in his head(Athena) and his thigh(Dionysus).
Guess he takes after him.
YESSSSSSSSs the children of Loki I love this We get to learn about the six children of low-key the snake a Wolf the goddess of death the horse and the two normal ones this is gonna be good
It's sad they had tyr lock up his own friend leading too the loss of his arm all I can think is if they had used a bit more compassion Ragnarok could've been prevented
what a badass. all of the children. especially the pretty corpse lady
Wasn't expecting the cliff hanger at the end... Need Part 2
The poor mother, just seeing her children ripped away from her and one thrown into the sea.
My boi Loki was happy af with that tall Blue lady
One thing I always wondered was why the All-Father didn't just slay the children of Angraboda and Loki when they were small. I know how that sounds but with the power of prophecy and their crazy growth rate, I would have felt my fears were validated.
My thoughts exactly. It makes no sense to let them get has big and as power as are especially with how fast they were growing.
Since he was loki’s blood brother it was basically sacrilege to spill family blood, so killing them wasn’t a morally acceptable option I guess.
The prophecy didn't get foretold until they were all born and in existence with established relationships.
The All-Father literally sealed his fate by capturing the children, and I honestly feel bad for fenrir, he was taken away from his mother , had his freedom and trust broken, and was chained for the rest of his life til ragnarok, not to mention both of his siblings were treated a lot more better with his brother keeping his freedom and living in Midgard with little problems, while his sister became QUEEN OF THE UNDEAD! Like you can not tell me he did not just get the worst traits from his father, but also the worst treatment amongst his siblings.
Makes me imagine a rewrite of Norse mythology where the imprisonment of his children is what galvanized Loki to turn on Asgard
Noarse loki is so much cooler and more interesting then marvel loki great vid
Marvel Loki is a simp
@@sayanthrejinair6744 haha yep
@@sayanthrejinair6744 how is he a simp? He literally never had an romantic interest?
@@raeldrews1187 Did you watch the series? Marvel dumbed Loki in the loki series down just to showcase the new character. The Loki before the series aired was much stronger and better. But now the Marvel canon Loki is just a simp
You mean MCU Loki? Cuz Marvel Comics Loki is heavily derived from the Eddas. Likewise, the story of him leading an army of the dead from Hel's realm to strike his ultimate revenge on the gods is in the comics. Even the story of him convincing Thor to put on a drag to get his hammer back is Marvel's canon.
Like in Greek myths, this scenario screams self-fulfilling prophecies. I feel reason why snake and wolf grew uncontrollably is either because of giant-inheritance, or as a fight-or-flight magical response for being taken away from their mother.
I forgot the Norse queen of the underworld was Loki's kid.
I feel like the moral of story for his children was always they weren't monsters until they were perceived as such
Loki’s kids always seemed op af to me
You all do know that Loki's children were never evil. It was Odin who made them turn on him and Asgard.
Some would say Odin was the one triggering the ragnarok
*Kratos chilling elsewhere
👏 That was great story about Children of Loki.
2:03 Seriously, Odin had a vision saw Loki's children there was a war going on.
3:03 Odin and his Norse God make Fenrir, Jormugandr and Hel were separate ways. I wonder they will see each other after many years they will grow up to learn understand before Ragnarok begin
I wonder they will come on Earth to meet all other accident mythology in history. Make their good life living things got reincarnated after their death.
I wonder they did not just have Fenrir make a pact with Tyr? Since they were such good friends he could gave made a contract woth him where he would vow never to turn against Asgard or harm Odin or the rest of the gods. Then in return he could become Tyr's mount and treated with honor. That would be one threat removed fron Ragnarok without any fuss.
Love how its saying "Loki's relationship with a Jotun would lead the Norse world into the abyss" like he wasnt originally a Jotun himself
Now the real question is was this a self fulfilling prophecy or an actual one? One wonders if the children had been left with their more caring parent if they would have grown up into the monsters they became.
I'd say that if they were raised correctly then Ragnarok wouldn't happen
Self fulfilling the serpent grew to the size because he was placed in the ocean, Hel didn’t have power over the undead until she became the ruler of the underworld and the wolf wasn’t Violent rather Energetic and didn’t know his strength most feared him and Isolate him only Tyr being close to him.
You know, I don’t think i’ve heard many prophey’s that *aren’t* self fulfilling. Theres always someone involved trying to stop it that ends up causing it to happen.
@@GreaterGrievobeast55 that’s what a self fulfilling prophecy is 😐
If my memory serves me correct, then Sigyn was actually Loki's third wife. He first married a Jonut (don't remember her name), but one day he fell in love with her sister Angrboda. He left his first wife, married Angrboda and they had their two sons and one daughter. Either during his time with his first wife or with Angrboda, he became pregnant with Sleipnir. Don't remember if Angrboda was later killed or not, but Loki eventually married Sigyn as a way to protect the peace. With her he had his last two sons. His children never did anything bad until the other gods came around. Fenrir didn't inherit any bad traits from Loki, but instead lashed out when he was badly treated and then betrayed by the Aesir
I could be wrong here and I'll go research but I believe Angrboda was a Jotunn and his first wife. Then came Sigyn.
I was wrong! He married Glut, the Goddess of ember and Flames, Angrboda is a Jotun, and then came Sigyn.
I bet grandparents day is so akward for Odin lol
Kratos thought him well
I think it might would be great to have the 3 kids of LOKI, make their appearance in other types of anime shows; Now I can imagine a number of different versions of what each of the three kids of LOKI, might be like in different types of anime shows, and I can imagine a few storyline scenarios for the aspect of introductions of each offspring, and to add the introduction of (LOKI).
Loki had great taste with his partners
B O Y is going to have some explaining to do to Kratos when the grandkids arrive...
Those who try to prevent destiny are often the ones walking straight towards it
I'm currently reading The Witchs Heart by Genevieve Gornichec about this story from Angrbodas perspective, highly recommend
"One often meets their destiny on the path they take to avoid it"
Why does Loki look like he’s casting a Domain Expansion in the opening Slide? 00:02
I can’t wait for God of War Ragnarok. Amazing video
Love this page and the stories. Keep up the awesome work.🤓👏🏾
You can just leave us on a cliff hanger like that
This is the thing i love about prophecies - the action that you take to avoid them is usually the reason for them to happen😂
The destiny was a real thing for the Norse, not something that you could affect make by yourselves.
Argardians:suspicious of hel
Me:adult hel hot
Don't tie children to rocks with unbreakable ropes, or yeet them into the sea just because they're both animals and real big.
Okay, here to shed some light. There's some stuff here that's true and some that is wrong.
Firstly, there's no "forces of evil" in Norse mythology. Jötunn, Aesir, Vanir etc have never uttered the word "evil" in the Poetics or Prose Edda (the two books we always use for Norse mythology research)
Hel was not "guided" to Helheim, just like Jörmungandr, she was tossed into Helheim. And the gods hoped that both Jörmungandr and Hel would die from the fall, and they did not know about the rapid growth of Jörmungandr either.
Lastly, and this is the biggest thing, there have never been a time where Loki was called the god of anything. We know he's a god, but of what is unclear. The best bets we have are trickery, webbing and hearth.
Just thought this information is important to have.
Instead of being scared i was so happy when i met them
The Grandchildren of The Ghost of Sparta
I like the Song played on the background
Yes I’m always happy about the comics I love these so much
Only Kratos could bear such a child
Jörmengandr is the Earth’s magnetic field. An alien named Loki built the tech for the core of this planet.
It’s technically Odin’s fault Fenrir became evil
It wasn’t the kids faults that their father wasn’t the best. Ragnorock could have been prevented if they were treated with compassion, but instead they were only seen as the worst versions of themselves.
I love Norse mythology story 👍👍
dude i looked at the most replayed part of the vid and i did not get surprised at all
lets be honest if they did not tie up Fenrir maybe he would not have a grudge against them maybe if they talk to it or made it promise a vow of some sort Fenrir would not be so angry to the Aesirs
I love when you do a comic book format ‼️🙏🏼 keep it up bro
man i just love the story of Fenrir
Thought this said Children of Lir, which you guys should also cover!
I think Hel is beautiful
She is i can't wait to see her in ragnarok.
basically they decid to separate the children from their living parent, inadvertently created the vision he saw
Next time on Norse Mythology Stories in Comics: The Binding Of Fenrir!
They brought this upon themselves if they left the kids with the mother and help take care of them and teach them better things in life none of this would have happened in the first place
Yeah but how do you know that is how it would turn out?
@@truthspreader1996 I'm not saying that's how it would have turned out but they could have ended better for everyone
@@sparkfireprime978 Yeah but how...?
The events were foretold eons ago about both Loki & his children, that they would be a threat not only to the gods, but also in the coming of Ragnarok.
@@truthspreader1996 the future isn't set and Stone you can change things if you know how and they are gods I bet they could have found a different way Odin after all the god of wisdom .
I can't even imagine loki the god of mischief being the father of a big wolf & a big serpent
I have somewhat of an unusual headcanon, which basically makes Satan and the Loch Ness Monster cousins through their parents, Hel and Jormungand respectively.
*One thing is for sure, this would make for an interesting family reunion*
Yeeeah about Sleipnir, turns out Loki's the mother.
Boyyyy is the Norse Mythology a mess
I know a guy that could have made Fenrir a loyal loving companion to the Norse gods. You could say he is something of a Dog Whisper
All Odin had to had to do is let them live then Thor and Odin would’ve been survivors of ragnarok
A other good vidoe dude keep it up you rock
What if the hadn’t taken the children from their mother’s arms, would Ragnarok have happened?
Out of the children of Loki and Angrboda I pick Fenrir and Hel as my favorites
Loki is both a dad and a mom he is a mom to Odins horse
Bro your channel is top teir
Loki like um T H I C C K
I'm here for Comparisons to Bob's Burgers
In one side i'm feel bad for Angrboda with the fact Odin snatched her children but in the other side.....what's the problem with Loki ? His childs is a giant snake, a Wolf, à 8-legs horse and a girl with a part of her face missing. ...well am I forgot one ?
Loki was also jotun. Jotun were non-humans, shapeshifters and due to this fact they had no gender or race restraints.
Seriously a cliffhanger
I literally came here to say that these kids all got brutalized, strung up, murdered for the sake of fear. Before they did a single thing wrong. Fenrir was a good boy, he was good to the gods and he was Tyr's friend. Narvi and Vali? Were little boys and one got turned into a beast to eviscerate his brother, so his organs can tie Loki down.
They're not scary. What was done to them warrants eras of built up rage. Stop demonizing them.
Stop victimizing them.
I LOVE your channel and the things you cover. 💣💣💣🔥🔥🔥🔥
What is the song in the background?! It’s epic.
Love this one
great vid also could you please make a video specifically about Fenrir?
Anyone else hyped for God of War Ragnarok?
Dude ragnarok would have happened if they've just left them alone
I- I love the video its very accurate and the art is amazing!! But loki didn't give birth to the Kids he had with angrboda, only sleipnir.
