Love my 15 EXL V6 Coupe with 148400... It's in loving memory of my son who passed in June at the age of 25... I love your car son... I miss you so so much.. Love Dad & Granpaw
Update on my 2015 Honda Accord EX-L V6 Coupe. 100,800 miles at 9 and a half years with ZERO PROBLEMS! METICULOUS MAINTENANCE THE ENTIRE OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE IS KEY. LOVE THIS CAR AND WILL KEEP IT FOR THE FOR SEE ABLE FUTURE!
I love when people point out that the Camaro and Mustang v6 models are cheaper and faster. I'll agree with them. They are cheaply made and faster to depreciate. LOL. Do the math guys. Any money you save buying a V6 Mustang or Camaro is lost to repair bills and resale value compared to the V6 Accord. Not to mention, you have to tuck your tail when a V8 Mustang or Camaro shows up.
+SicK_SKITSO_93 Honda parts are usually cheap man except for damn spark plugs in the Accord lol. Just learned it will cost me about 100$ for new ngk and there's only one size that fits my specific motor
+jldude84 20 years huh? A bit delusional wouldn't you say? I'd list all unreliable pieces of crap that the big 3 has put out over the past 20 years, but youtube only gives me 1000 characters.
My 2015 Honda Accord EX-L V6 Coupe with an automatic is 8 years old and has 89k miles with zero problems. I was offered 15k$ by carmax byt i want to keep it. It still drives like it did 8 years ago when i bought it. Its extremely easy to maintain and gets 34-35 mpg on my long trips to Texas from Nashville. Its been paud for 6 years and its very roomy comfortable quiet refined and fun! Thevdesign has aged very well. Im keeping mine no question! In a year they'll offer me 12k. Still tremendous for 9 years at that point!
@Christiano Delgado I also have a '98 Civic DX 4 cylndr 5 speed manual base model as a daily driver. The difference is like night and day. The Civic is GREAT for around town, but for the highway, the Accord is a cruiser. As far as the type r or touring, never drove one. .
5.5 to 60 in a fwd car that can seat 5 and has a usable trunk is pretty good. It also has 25+ miles combined and only requires reg. fuel. probably the best car in it's class. I hate when people compare this car to luxury cars. You can get it for $25k without the navi.
can you imagine if they did dual overhead cams and fuel injection, I can't believe that it already dosent have that. probably would be at least another 30+ hp and with the same or better fuel eco. now imagine it comes in RWD or AWD. thing would be a animal.
Steve! Great job encapsulating just how much the V6 coupe delivers without overpromising, and it comes with Honda reliability! I also love the way you're not afraid to drive it in the video. I'm thinking of a 2016/17 Touring Coupe for the naturally aspirated V6 before it goes away in 2018. Would love to know if the adaptive cruise also includes low speed follow, or is that exclusive to the 2016 Civic/2017 CRV? And I know its nit-picking but I wish it had a regular blind spot detection system on both sides instead of camera on one. Ventilated seats would be nice too. But I would be willing to forgo those amenities for the natually apsirated V6 and driving dynamics. So, what do your tea-leaves say, Steve? Will there be an Accord Coupe with the redesign in 2018??
Those power/torque figures are impressive for that size and type engine knowing it's a single cam and no direct injection, plus it does that on regular. The 350z makes a bit more power, but only on premium and has the same 0-60 time, but with worse mileage. I'd take this over the 350z any day since it's a regular unleaded car.
Awesome review as always, Steve!!! I really would like to see Honda offer the Accord Coupe in RWD or AWD configuration instead of the FWD in the future. Even their luxury brand, Acura are configured in FWD in their base models. That being said, the Accord is a great commuter car-quiet, gets great fuel economy. safe, and reliable. Steve, when are you doing a review of the 2016 Acura ILX?
Mark Brooks This is a point that most automotive publications tend to ignore. Their lust for RWD so they can drive at 99% of a cars limits each time they get behind the wheel, (yeah right!). I've seen too many BMW's and MB's get stuck on a slippery surface on this stretch of roadway that crosses over a section of the Metro North RR. In the mean time, such lowly and dowdy cars such as a 15 year old Corolla rides up the incline with no issues.
+jldude84 You do what you prefer, and I will likewise. My own personal experiences are what i value most of all. The majority of those "professionals" have always had a hard on for the rwd drive cars they test without any real day to day experience.
I agree with you , Steve. The large coupe is an endangered species. If not, on life support. Car fans who like 2-door vehicles can thank Honda for the Civic and Accord coming in 2 door variants. In addition, I remember my uncle having a mid-70s Ford T-bird. That thing was so huge that it would occupy two lanes on a freeway. (Car fans -- Remember the Old Ford Thunderbird and Mercury Cougar?)
TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes And if you want a large 2-door coupe, or (coo-pay) as the Euros say it, you'd go with the luxury liners like Mercedes S-Class coupe that starts at $115k and the BMW 6-Series.
+Plus Minus Infinity I consider the Dodge Challenger as a muscle car going head on with the Mustang and Camaro. Oh yeah, I remember the old Lincoln coupes. The Lincoln Mark Series coupes came from T-Bird origins.
Why give up on the coupe body style? not everybody needs a damn kid hauler. I'm still hoping Honda puts out an Accord type R coupe. They can just go ahead and take my money at that point. I currently own a 2013 6/6 coupe and I LOVE it!
i dont know about 0-60mph in 5.5secs. i've best @ 6.1secs otherwise mid 6's and even 6.7sec(all digital) this early spring. temperature that day was 57degrees and no, i do not recall humidity at the time. all i'm saying is, i highly doubt a 5.5sec from manufacture(stock)
What do you mean whatever happened to the 2 door coupe??, Honda , Mercedes Audi and even Ford have them still, this is not 1990, coupes will never stop existing , good on them too cause they only keep getting better from here 👍👍
Q-Tip time! The line was "Ever wonder what happened to the big coupe?" Depending on trim, the Accord Coupe still classifies as a midsize. Mercedes, Audi and Ford don't make any 2-door models larger than "compact" and most are "subcompact." And yes, that includes the S-Class Coupe.
Mr Huey Freeman Not necessarily.....The Mdx shits all over the Pilot. Acuras have had torque vectoring for a long time. doubt hondas have them plus the more premium design. But I agree, Acura is just not as high end as say Lexus and Honda Acrua differentiation isn't as stark as say Toyota Lexus.
Mark Brooks yeah I have a 2005 Accord coupe v6 its so fast I can take 350z's and v8 mustangs with it. Also its alright on gas but it takes 87 octane so saves money there... good all around car also to mention it has 320,000kms same engine rebuilt transmission though.
Yupp i had a 05 accord 4 cylinder that smoked 13 and 15 honda accords to my surprise i now have a 09 accord it ain't faster than the 05 I had. I can only imagine the V6
I'm 16, 5'7 and I sit perfectly in the back seats Hope that's of some help. Unlike most other coupes, the accord actually has enough space for people to sit in the back
I just could never see buying a coupe. What's the point? If I wanted small I'd buy a hatchback; if I wanted family-friendly I'd buy a larger sedan. I don't think my generation will maintain the coupe's life support.
Yes, an 87 XR7. Burgundy with burgundy velour and a fuel chugging V6. This car was so luxurious and comfy that I felt rather posh driving it to college. So I sold it and got a mustang
Less than 75 hp/ ton. I had an 87 LS with the 3.8 (it was the early 90s) and it was a slow and sleek blvd cruiser. (more house boat than speed boat) Look at this 95 with 43k miles - love the interior - solid 90s luxury with a sofa like ride, I'll bet www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/mercury/cougar_xr7/1672690.html
thecarelectronicguy that is so wrong....where do you get your info from? The auto is around 0.1 - 0.2 seconds faster to 60 according to all major car reviewing sites
TheRising Sun Which reviewing sites? Cnet says the manual is faster, The Fastlane Car says the manual is faster, Consumer Reports says the manual is faster.

so hondas have expensive parts never owned one man

I actually prefer muscle to imports but v6 muscle are a joke honestly

Theres a coupe online with 56,685 miles at $17,892. Good deal?
I have this with a 6 speed manual, comfortable, really solid, nimble, great handling, quick AND fast... love it!
@Christiano Delgado I also have a '98 Civic DX 4 cylndr 5 speed manual base model as a daily driver. The difference is like night and day. The Civic is GREAT for around town, but for the highway, the Accord is a cruiser. As far as the type r or touring, never drove one. .
Lovin my honda accord coupe
Ha, I have that exact same black V-6 coupe with the two-tone seats...I love it!

I have a 2014 Honda Accord two door coupe and I love that car Honda made a beautiful job making this car Honda you're a true winner
Those power/torque figures are impressive for that size and type engine knowing it's a single cam and no direct injection, plus it does that on regular. Steve, when are you doing a review of the 2016 Acura ILX?
Lawrence Figuerres Working on it. Soon. Thanks.
Lawrence Figuerres A RWD set-up with the same dimensions as this car would seriously reduce the car's interior room and the trunk.
Mark Brooks This is a point that most automotive publications tend to ignore. Their lust for RWD so they can drive at 99% of a cars limits each time they get behind the wheel, (yeah right!). We need this is an awd 😭😫
Jay Bisky rwd id buy it
I absolutely love this car its perfect for me
An amazing review like always.
Ahmed Ahmed Thanks, Ahmed!
I test drove one really wish they would have a RWD because this coupe is sweet with 6 speed V6
rig48 If this was RWD then it would be perfect
Nice review Steve. In your opinion can you put a two and four year old in the rear seat without too much trouble?
I have the exact same car. Inside and out but its 2014 and there's 0 different between them
I agree with you , Steve. The large coupe is an endangered species. If not, on life support. Car fans who like 2-door vehicles can thank Honda for the Civic and Accord coming in 2 door variants.

Def can, most manuals do 5.5 and auto usualy 5.6 - 5.8

And now there is no Accord coupe smh now for 2018
This comment hasn't aged well
Take my money!
love my honda except i have all black exterior and interior
Remove the Honda badge and you have a TL/TLX coupe.
DJEddieXZ you cant beat this for them money.. these cars will drive for over 300k
good review
Some fool totaled my Avenger and now I'm gonna upgrade to this.
Even with a child seat, I'd rather have this than the ILX.
Change the design of the rear bumper reflectors and it'll be perfect.
does the sedan counterpart deliver the same 5.5 0-60?
Can anyone say if the sedan version is as fast as the coupe? It says its .1 sec slower?
Honda really needs to dampen the road noise across their vehicle lineup.
I agree !
Mr Huey Freeman

0-60 in 5.5 seconds wow !

hi im just wondering sir..i have 2 kids..is it oky the back sit to them..thank u much..

bg1379 it looks sweet though
When it comes to cars its all about what you like, so that's the point of coupes. A lot of other people, including me, love how the coupe looks
I used to drive a Cougar (87 maroon on maroon), now I'm dating one
#progress
Khu NoPie I used to drive an '87 Cougar XR-7. Loved that car.
Khu NoPie LOL!
Yes, an 87 XR7. Burgundy with burgundy velour and a fuel chugging V6. This car was so luxurious and comfy that I felt rather posh driving it to college. So I sold it and got a mustang
Khu NoPie The XR-7 had the 5.0 making a whopping 150hp! ;-) Amazing, isn't it?

I wonder which one is faster automatic or manual?
The manual is a little over a second faster 0-60 than the automatic in both four and six-cylinder configurations.

manual
Depends on who's driving
Civic type r? Integra type s? Pfffff
21incity doesnt sound possible
in stop andgo the four cylinder will yield10 to 14 mpg
thats very good becausei average in city driving on 4 cylinder 10mpg
Honda is still way behind to European cars. My S60 is miles ahead of this car
AUTO 5 In what way? It certainly is miles ahead in price. All I see are 2 liter 4 cylinder sewing machines, vs. a 3.5 liter V-6 in the Accord.
AUTO 5 Sure, your S60 is ahead in the amount of time spent in the shop, no doubt.
+AUTO 5 Honda isn't behind anyone, especially Volvo.
Screw European cars and their stupid overrated electronics
such a boring car
I love my 2015 accord v6 coupe
