Good video! I just ordered a new LR4. My favorite part of the litter robot 3 I have now is not having to scoop constantly and knowing it's clean each time they get in. Nothing grosser than if you have a cat or 2 and you don't scoop after every use knowing they get back in and are stepping all over in their poo or pee then digging around burying again.. gross feet around the house. With litter robot you know it's very very likely clean every time they get in.

After 4 months use, the rubber in mine has deep scratches in it from my 2 cats who have their claws, but it is pretty darn thick. The main issue is when it starts going less than 24 hours before saying the barely filled bin is "full", or starts with "sensor fault" errors and becomes unusable, and then customer service just quits repling... They replaced it once when I talked about returning it, now past return date, second unit screwing up worse that first (to the point it won't cycle at all)

I've had a Litter Robot 3, for 4 years. It just died and I'm not fixing or replacing it and here's why. 1. It would occasionally get stuck in a position where there was no litter exposed, and the cat would be forced to make other arrangements. For that reason alone, I had a regular litter box as a back up, which he'd also use, so it kind of defeats the purpose. 2. Dust. Enclosed box's with a flap/door really keep the dust down in a room. There's no door on a Litter Robot, so every time it cycles, several times a day, it's generating dust, lot's of dust that was accumulating on everything in the room. 3. The max time to wait before it cycles is 15 minutes. That's not enough time for the litter to absorb all the stink, and the tray underneath emits a smell I've never had with a traditional litter box. It's a nasty odor. Even with the charcoal insert. I really wanted to like it, but I'm back to a fully enclosed box with a door. No dust, no stink, no malfunctions.
I just set-up my Litter Robot 4 and am already loving it. If it can mask, cover, contain(pick your word) the cat pee smell, I think I'll be in Heaven, that is my biggest issue with owning a cat, is the cat pee smell. Everything else I love, I have 2 cats and I know at least one of them has already started using it.
I really want to get the litter robot, but I'm worried my cat won't use it. Because I bought another automatic litter box, and she was afraid of it. Not noise, but being enclosed.
I want to know what the build quality is. The litter robot 3 had a manufacturer flaw with sensors near poop and piss. It could touch these sensors no problem. So i hope this time they used their brain and made sensors on a well thought out place and unable to get corrosion from the cat litter. Other then that flaw it was convenient when it worked. Mine died to soon due to the issue above so im doubting to purchase this. 600 euro for a cat litter box is alot of money when its made with expensive flaws
So, after owning one of these devices for over 6 months, there are many issues not only with the device but also with the company. The app itself is a disaster as it barely works. Try to export a report in CSV or PDF format and it rarely if ever works. Not to mention all the blinking lights are nowhere described in the app whatsoever. How could they miss that? Why wouldn't you just put a troubleshooting area in the app so that users could decipher the lights? Just crazy. Also, you would think they would have some sort of support link or phone number or something in the app but alas, nothing there. You'll have to search on the internet to try and find how to get in contact with them and of course they work a few hours and are difficult to get a hold of. The product works okay for most the time but many times different lights start flashing and it quits working and you have no idea what's going on. I'm still looking for a good reference on what all the lights do. A huge issue is the compartment for the charcoal filter and or the fragrance crystals. It turns out, there really isn't a compartment for the fragrance crystals even though they want to sell them to you. I suspect you just take out the charcoal filter and put them in there but then of course you're missing the charcoal filter. I don't understand why there isn't room for both. Speaking of that compartment, frequently the little mesh cover for it comes loose and jams the whole system up and you need to take everything apart to get it to work. I probably have had this happen half a dozen times in the months I've had the product.
So how much did they pay you for this sponsored video? Be nice to hear ANY negatives about a product. You got it for free and link to it in the description and don't have a negative thing to say about it.
You’d have to give it a trial run. I do like the litter that came with in the bundle. Right now I’m using Dr. Elsey’s so far so good. Though I’m noticing I may have to clean the liner more cause it’s leaving behind “residue.”
I agree with almost everything you say. Except for the part where you suggest we connected to the wi-fi. Unless you enjoy being monitored and tracked everywhere you go with that phone and possibly your car. Then having that information sold to anyone and everyone. Including your insurance company. It's a real thing. Check it out for yourself. Phones already in your hand.
Well my roommate has one of these and she's got for cats for the amount of money she paid for it. It is not working for the second day they are supposed to be calling her back and so far she has not heard anything for the amount of money of what you pay for this thing
Do you use it in a different model litter robot? I use pretty litter in all 3 of my litter robot 3's. I'm considering trying litter robot's litter because it's not any more expensive than pretty litter and the pretty litter tends to get "stuck" in the bottom of the rubber lining because it doesn't dry or clump, it just sticks to the rubber as it spins and I usually stop the rotating glove when it's upside down and have to scrape the wet litter to get it to fall into the drawer. I think the pretty litter gets saturated with the urine and doesn't have time to dry before it spins which is why it gets stuck to the rubber.
I have one question> I also tend to have 4 cats, and was wondering, how often should the tray be emptied? Asking because I wish to setup automated food/water dispensers, and also looking into the litter question, as that would give some comfort when we leave the house for a longer period (vacation for e.g.). Appreciate the review.
So sorry for not getting back to you sooner! I empty the tray completely approximately once every 10 days, but that’s because this box is the girls’ favorite, so I want to keep it as clean as possible!
Both of my 15lb male cats had no problem with it, just wish it worked. WHen it worked it was nice... When support thinks you are going to return it for a refund, they are responsive.... after that... well.... been days since I told them it won't even cycle anymore...
I’ve had mine for a month now and I absolutely love it. Uses way less litter, change the pan liner maybe twice a week and the cleaning of it super easy. In my opinion with 3 cats, totally worth it considering I have at least 10 more years with them and no longer have to deal with scooping.
Quality video, but I feel it woudlve been so much faster to consume the same info if you had a 1 on 1 conversation with her instead of a call like this
"Large capacity waste drawer".. large drawer, if only it would use all of that capacity before saying it was full. There are times it says it is full and won't cycle and the bottom of the drawer is not even covered. This on 2 different units using their bags. I'm jelous of the people who review and say they have multiple cats and cat go days before chaning. 2 cats, before it completely quit working, was lucky to get 24 hours of it. Put a new bag in, first time cat used it, wow, 25%-50% full.... (and no, not due to "left overs" from when it quit cycling from being full. I always manually told it to cycle before changing out bags)
Did you check the sensor on either units? Urine and fecal matter can cover a sensor causing it to read full when its not. If you still have them it would be worth checking at least, since you already spent the money@@Greg8872
FLINGS THINGS OUT My LR4 flings things out as it cycles. This has happened multiple times - - where I've found an incident or literally watched it happen. Its not my cat pushing things out, but the lr sending something flying as it is cycling. There needs to be an update asap that makes the clean cycle run slower. Anyone else have this issue? I've tried with the guard. Without the guard. Even tilting the robot back a bit. Commenting this everywhere so i can get a fix faster.
Editors note: all of this info is for people who piss and shit money. A litter robot is $700, that litter she's talking about is $40 for a 40 lb bag you can get 43 lb of fresh step for like $25.
If I order this and my cats still manage to mess things up .. I'll throw them out the window . Jk but I definitely will have a sit down and have them fill out adoption paper
for me, it has resulted in MUCH less work. You put the litter in it and it does all the work until it's time to change the drawer liner which takes a couple of minutes. you save on litter because only the clumps and feces drop into the drawer while the clean litter goes back in the rubber lining when it rotates back to home position. You do have to make sure the litter is up to the line but that takes seconds. I had gotten to where I wanted rid of our cats because of the constant scooping of litter.
I'd stay far away from this company I have purchased three little robot threes over the past 2 years and their support is the most horrible thing they wait so long to reply to you that your warranty runs out. I have spent more time working on these machines trying to keep them running then I would have spent scooping litter from a plain box
Do not waste your money on the Litter Robot 4. The quality is subpar, and the customer service is even worse. The first unit took a long time to arrive and was defective, and the replacement didn't fare any better. Dealing with their support team is a nightmare; they're a call center in India, unhelpful, and seem to be reading from a script. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for a reliable automatic cat box.
You can tell that she's being paid to say certain things - why would their brand litter be better for the unit's tracking over the same kind of litter from other competitors? Complete BS and it turned me off from this video entirely, especially from her laughing about everything instead of getting on with the video.
Don't believe this paid for shill. Go to trust pilot and read reviews. Amazing how you don't find one video explaining how rubbish this litter robot is? 🤔
I have 2 cats and I will never get this , if you are that lazy you shouldn't get cats , and by the way scooping poop is the easiest part of owning a cat

Do you use it in a different model litter robot? I use pretty litter in all 3 of my litter robot 3's.
Sounds like something might be blocking the sensor
@@pearltheboomkin1247 on two different units?
Did you check the sensor on either units? Urine and fecal matter can cover a sensor causing it to read full when its not. If you still have them it would be worth checking at least, since you already spent the money@@Greg8872
FLINGS THINGS OUT
My LR4 flings things out as it cycles.
I have 10 cats
XDDD
Editors note: all of this info is for people who piss and shit money. A litter robot is $700, that litter she's talking about is $40 for a 40 lb bag you can get 43 lb of fresh step for like $25.
If I order this and my cats still manage to mess things up .. I'll throw them out the window . Jk but I definitely will have a sit down and have them fill out adoption paper
looks like more work than a normal box.
for me, it has resulted in MUCH less work. I had gotten to where I wanted rid of our cats because of the constant scooping of litter.
do you guys think this would work for 6 cats? 😭
Sarcasm I assume
The fence is on backwards 😂
“Sanitary litter box”… HA yeah right, oxymoron
Just hose it down instead of wiping down
in the name of convenience......
Works great for the cats. Not so well for humans.
fiancee… didn’t see that coming.
Pshpshpsh 😻
Don’t buy it, all sensors would fail after 1 year. In my case of litter robot 3
I bet you are a paid reviewer.
I'd stay far away from this company I have purchased three little robot threes over the past 2 years and their support is the most horrible thing they wait so long to reply to you that your warranty runs out. I have spent more time working on these machines trying to keep them running then I would have spent scooping litter from a plain box
stop yelling........... had to leave this video because of the shouting. sheesh.
I have a boarding kennel and have heard only praise with very few minor issues. I think I'll take my chances.
Sponsored much? lol
20 min clean is too long
You can tell that she's being paid to say certain things - why would their brand litter be better for the unit's tracking over the same kind of litter from other competitors? Complete BS and it turned me off from this video entirely, especially from her laughing about everything instead of getting on with the video.
Clearly a shill video...disappointed.
