    This channel focuses on combat flight simulators like DCS World and IL-2 Great Battles. If you play either of these games or flight simulators like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and enjoy aviation and dogfighting then this channel is for you. Even if you are coming from War Thunder and BF2042, you can learn to fly these combat flight simulators.
    I play using TrackIR5 and do not use VR, this means that I am able to capture footage for tutorials, how-to-guides and other multiplayer tips and tricks video in 1440p.
    Eagle Dynamics has made it easier than ever to learn DCS because the game is technically free. The game has the F-15, F-16, Su-27, Mig-29, Mig-21, Mig-19, Mig-15, F-86 Sabre, Jf-17, Mirage 2000, F-18 Hornet and F-14 Tomcat. There are soon other modules coming such as the Mig-23 and F-4. Lastly, there are helicopters like the Mi-24 Hind and AH-64 Apache.
    The same is also true for IL-2 Great Battles. With Battle of Stalingrad, Battle of Kuban, Battle of Bodenplatte, Battle of Moscow and Battle of Normandy being released, there is an immense amount of variety covered. The Bf-109, Fw-190, P-51, Tempest, P-47, Mc.202, Stuka, Ju-88, He-111, and so on are all in the game. I focus on making videos to make that part accessible so you can dive into IL-2 Multiplayer.

    The release of this module is genuinely a really big deal and arguably one of the biggest things to be released to the public this year. The future for BMS looks bright and this is the first step. If you haven't played BMS yet you are simply missing out, it is the best place to experience to Gen 4. Download it here: www.falcon-bms.com/downloads/ Here are some other videos that are helpful to get into more details:

    One point of clarification I want to make. have noticed that how information is articulated in BMS is very different than in DCS. I don't think one is better than another, I just think its just different. In DCS, everything is very scripted, so people want to do know how to do X and expect information to be presented in a checklist. In BMS, the scenario is much more dynamic and pushes you so the information is presented more about how the systems work, rather how to just execute X. This difference is what I suspect is tripping up a lot of DCS players from expanding their horizon and jumping over into BMS. I do not identify myself as just a DCS player or just a BMS player or just an IL-2 player, I see myself as a flight simmer and I think jumping into each of them is good and I would encourage others to do the same. This niche is too small to be tribal about things and after all the BMS team consistently pushes out new content that no on else is doing.

      I think what you mean is that DCS makes set procedures where as BMS relies on the community to work stuff out . This does not mean what you think it does, there is always more than one way to do something in both sims just because DCS gives you a procedure doesn't make it the only way, heck even the Su25T has procedures you can perform for better results that are not explained in the manual.
      The only thing not scripted in BMS is the campaign. Like BMS, DCS is a huge beast, don't let your lack of knowledge on DCS run your script.

      One note … it’s very standard to enter “guns mode” , which is a slewable auto acq mode out to 20 miles vs super search at 10. Also, there is a long range boresight mode out to 40
      Not sure if BMS has modeled this yet

      @@MultiVeeta There is a manual in BMS but how it reads is just very different from DCS. In DCS it is more organized how to do X vs how to do Y. The BMS manuals read a bit different, they focus more on the systems on themselves and not so much on the specific action.

    One important comment. BMS uses both BRAA and Bullseye calls. It depends on the distance . If contact is close (less than 30 NM IIRC ) awacs will call braas, else it will call bullseye. Of course the awacs will say at beginning of each call which system is use . Like falcon 11 target is braa 180 23 nm. Or falcon 11 target is bullseye 123 145

    If BMS can add some Redfor aircraft I’ll 100% make the jump. It’s amazing how many little QOL features BMS has that DCS is sorely lacking, such as a functional ATC. DCS desperately needs to work on core feautures or it’s days are numbered.

    If i was ED I would start getting really scared, not just because Microprose reacquired the Falcon IP but also because of what heatblur is doing with the Phantom which isn't just another module, what would happen if Heatblur joined Microprose to make a new sim based on Falcon 4 but with a more modern engine and an update dynamic campaign, and lets not forget the fact that Heatblur's F-14 is already in MSFS 2020, what would happen if Microsoft decided to make a new Combat Flight Simulator to compete with DCS.

    • @RedTail1-1
      @RedTail1-1 3 місяці тому +3

      Then ED would have to actually start working and DCS would be all the better for it. With absolutely no competition at all they have no incentive to get anything done in a timely manner. We've been whining about the AI for 10 years now and they still just add bandaids instead of fix it from the ground up. Modules take 5-7 years to release in Early Access. Modules remain in Early Access indefinitely.
      Since Microprose actually announced Falcon 5 I would LOVE it if third party developers who worked with ED left and joined them instead. Falcon 5 could become something else entirely rather than another F-16 Simulator, forcing competition with DCS World.

    A little tip for new BMS players that I learned on my very first flight. If you STT lock a target they will turn and run immediately making it so you aren't going to be able to launch on them reliably. If you are going to STT lock make sure you are close enough that your Aim-120 or Aim-7 will have a good chance of hitting if they turn and run. Otherwise, stick to TWS and take the chance of losing the track.

    • @Enigma89
      @Enigma89  7 місяців тому +7

      I don't fly the F-15E in DCS so I cannot answer that, I haven't flown modern in DCS since I found BMS. I would imagine they made improvements over time. Also note NDTWS and TWS are noted as different things in the F-15C manual.

    • @misarthim6538
      @misarthim6538 7 місяців тому +1

      You can do it in F15E too, you just need to be in actual NDTWS mode already. You press tdc to get miniraster on empty space and then acq fwd to get into either 3HDT or 4TWSH mode and then if you bug a contact it will be already in TWS mode. Then you can un-bug the contact by going boat switch aft which gets you back to NDTWS. Acq down brings you back to RWS.
      It's very likely that the way how DCS models it is the actual behavior of the jet, because the TWS / RWS isn't type of 'lock', it's a radar mode. Also NDTWS stands for 'non-designated track-while-scan' so it makes no sense to designate a contact to enter it

    • @StrikeWeasel15
      @StrikeWeasel15 7 місяців тому +2

      The way the F-15E radar is modelled in DCS is as close to bang on as you can get without being sketchy. From what I read and heard from different books and Eagle drivers on podcasts, there are small differences between the APG 63 and APG 70 in the operation. Some of this is due to the 4 inch display on the C model vs the 6 inch display on the E model. Also different blocks/suites did things slightly differently over time.

    • @RedTail1-1
      @RedTail1-1 3 місяці тому +1

      It's because the radar modes for the F-15C in BMS are still being worked on. Currently there is only LRS Long Range Search. So they have made it simple and easy to use for now while they get it sorted out. Just give it time and the F-15C radar will work as it does in the real thing.

    BMS has the groundwork to be the best, I'm not sure how hard it would be to improve the graphics. The AI models have more variety and they look better than DCS already in most cases. The DCS AI models should have been updated or deleted by now. It's not fun flying a nice looking F-16 next to an ugly C-17.

I realize this is not what you want to hear but that is just how the DCS community operates. This channel focuses on *actionable* information, things that are actually relevant when playing.
      On a final note, to be fair to the DCS community, I can see why they mostly use BRA for everything, it's because they have eras that go across a much longer timespan than BMS. BRA is more flexible for WWII an dearly cold war stuff.
