    You probably notice the monitors are “upside down.” They work perfectly this way! I positioned them that way to get the tweeters at ear level in my setup/desk. It specifically says in the Kali user manual that you can position them in either orientation. Just make sure you don’t position the LP-6’s on their sides. Go to 8:47 in the video to hear my explanation.

    Bro I’ve had my Event TRS8 since like 2008 and I’m finally looking to replace them. I’ve been in between the KALI IN8s and the Adam Audio A7Xs. It’s looking more and more like I’m gonna go with the KALIs. Great video, thanks!

      :}.yep iam rocking the event tr-5 , must be 20 years old and been used daily.after watching crazy amount of videos reviewing new monitors ive got feeling its going to be hard to find something noticable better for a good price. the events arnt amazing but i dont think they suck so iam arranging a demo/listening with a store to see for myself if theres a noticble step up to the adam a5x, focal 65,kali lp6,in5 etc.iam coming to the conclusion youtube is just a sponsered advert, as i recently bought a daw controller based on youtube recomends and had to return it as it was a very bad product.

    Great explanatory video for those Kali! I'm in for the IN9 3 way V2 next week, returning the Focal EVO 65 which I liked them for the tight bass and great stereo image and sweet spot not so impressed with the tweeter that are spitting out some kind of harshness after playing for awhile, not sure why as these monitors are advertised as great smooth top end as well as the incredible bass response and tightness, which I can honestly say-it is an amazing monitor(s) that will offer lotta bass without a "wobbling" woofer. THX! :)

      Hi, I would like to buy me a pair of studio speakers mainly for (nearfield) mixing/DJing (mostly Techno, Minimal, Tech-House music and I'm not sure if I should go for the Kali IN-8 Second Wave or the Focal Alpha 65 EVO. Any advice/suggestions please? Thanx..

    • @djalexia
      @djalexia 2 роки тому

      @@wes7489 hey! I never got the hands on the Kali IN8 as there isn’t any stock in the UK so right now I’m trying the Presonus E. XT7 and so far I really like those monitors the bass is there and tight similar to the Focal EVO 65 and top end smooth and surprisingly very reviling and great stereo image. So my take is if you’ll need monitors for both producing and djing I’ll go for the Presonus XT 7 or the big boy 8”
      Otherwise the Focal EVO 65 a bit more pricey than the Presonus XT but good monitors. Hopefully I was able to give you a positive suggestion. ;)

      @@wes7489 for what I can tell, the E XT8 or 7 are similar to the Focal EVO the newer model where the mid low are more prominent then the contained and detailed Presonus, i makos curious to hear the Kali IN, both the 5 or 8 . Take in consideration that a mid size room welcome a 7inch monitor for some speakers with a decent bass driver a good tight bass delivery, an 8” woofer could color and overwhelming with bass frequency the small to mid size space. It all comes down to taste. I have a 3 set of monitors, for reference and dj I’ll use a more tight and bass-generous speakers, for mixing and mastering a flat and more surgical set of monitors. If you’re after only to get a first pair speakers I’ll go with the Presonus give it a try as I also was hesitant about it but after trying Focal EVO 65 I must say that the XT7 are doing justice for half of the price. Try them both or all three and then see/hear what’s suits you better for what your needs are. I am draw to the Focal EVO thou but there’s a sibilant and sort of annoying resonance with its tweeter that forced me to return them, despite I miss the tight bass and fast transient that are deliver which IMHO its the strength of the Focal EVO ( the entry level). Oh, remember you’ll have all kinds of adjustments with the Presonus especially the mid frequency something that is hard to find on entry level monitors.

    I'm looking to build two systems. One, a stereo system with a large amp and pre-amp, separate passive speakers, turntable, etc. The system I'm building here will have a Schitt pre-amp and DAK, and active speakers. That is where I am confused about monitors vs. non-monitors. It looks like some speakers are called monitors but sold as a pair with only one amp in the speakers (Swan) then there are monitors like the Kali's where you buy one speaker at a time and each on has an amp. The purpose of both systems I am building is to play music and I have little interest in headphones. Are Kali's for music?

      @Clinton Stewart Adam Audio A77X’s are another League above the Kali’s. Much higher in Build Quality ans Sound.
      Ribbon Tweeter gives you a beautiful High End and an extended sweet spot. Bass is quite substantial as it has the two front facing ports but it is still in the realm of giving you a beautiful translation with that typical Adam Sound. I’d go for the A77X’s night and day in this case.

    thoughts on adding a subwoofer to a pair of studio monitors?

    • @TanoBrock
      @TanoBrock  3 роки тому

      I would say it depends on the room and treatment! A subwoofer obviously adds a LOT of bass information to a setup, and that can be problematic in a small and/or untreated room. I have a pretty small mixing room right now, and I find that my 8” IN-8 monitors provide plenty of bass for my needs! I think adding a sub in my room would cause more problems than it would be worth. But if you have a larger room and a good amount of treatment, a subwoofer can be a great addition!

      i say its awesome, had 5 inch monitors for years and struggled with low end because 80hz down dropped off like a rocket so had to use headphones to get a sense of the kick/bass/sub etc. recently just got krk s4 10 inch sub and its made a big differnce to enjoyment.was like getting new monitors. ive found it makes all music much bigger,warmer,room filling,. to set the level you can use db levels but ive found reducing that to compensate for my room has helped my mixes alot aswell as made music more enjoyable. :} i now actually enjoy some pop music because its produced and engineered so well it sounds awesome.who would of thought ava max songs has kick ass subs :}
