Kudos to your wife for going with a bright color. Being a confined space, darker colors would have made things feel cramped. Great build

The word simplicity comes to mind and it is a very positive thing in this case. Great job, looks clean. You mentioned you guys did a test run of your systems, I would love to see more information on your systems themselves, how a trip would "function" so to speak, anyway, great stuff and thank you for sharing it.

Oh how we know that sin, all too well! We did the same thing with our first fmtv build out, now for the second one, we'll try to capture more of the build on video. Thanks for sharing, great rig!

i didnt click the thumbs up until the pillows... well done. anyone can build a tiny overlander home, but it takes someone special to think of pillows in such a happy color! well done! :)

Great break down but we need the specs on the yellow cushions 😆.
Nice point on locking the cabinets. The bathroom is awesome great take on the drain and caulking around the toilet. I have a jumper seat in our E450 build. Thinking of using the center seat of a work f150 and taking off the head rest.

    Hey Jeff,
    Great video as usual…..
One thing I caught…. You can parallel MPPT controllers so as you add panels, you can add controllers as well. May save you some money later. (Don’t have to replace your current controllers).
In an ideal world, each cell would get a mini MPPT controller so if one cell was shaded, you would still get the max output.
    Google parallel MPPT.
When I make it further in my build, I am sure I will have a tone of questions.

Good info, The electrical aspect of this was definitely one of the most challenging for me. I've learned a lot but I know Im just barely skimming the surface of what can be done!!! I am currently having a hard time getting the mppt to bluetooth to my phone, something so simple and I can't seem to get it. Thanks for the good thoughts!

I doubt you will see this, but just in case…. I had thought about the MPPT issue as wells but I found out that two smaller MPPTs can be run together to equal one large one. Furthermore the smaller Victrons cost less than half the price of the larger ones. Ergo buy two and save money. This allows your system to grow without being super expensive.

hoping your 3d printed pass through for the solar doesn't crack on you over time. not sure what material it is printed of, but some may not take UV very well for very long. Awesome build!

A P-trap is a bad idea for an overlander. Check out the HepvO or something similar in a "waterless trap" design. You'll avoid a lot of problems with gas intrusion. Believe me on this one.

Do you need a CDL or any specific license to drive this rig, or is a regular driver’s license enough?

It looks incredible. Nice use of space. The tile in the bathroom looks a lot better than I thought based off how you where explaining it in the other video. Toilet looks like a good choice too.
How did the trip turn out? Were the jeep seats comfortable?

Glad you like it! check out my next video for the trip turnout. The jeep seats aren't bad... The're no air ride captains chairs but they work for what we're doing now.

Being so high up I’m not really too worried about them… and the side rails on my box are taller than panels so I think tree deflection will be no problem as well! Thanks for the comment.

Never seen a glorified Mall Crawler with that many roof lights…

    • @jeffcobuilds2660

Mall crawler? must be a city term. We don’t have malls where I live. But yes, lots of lights I put these lights on all my vehicles for night driving so I don’t hit deer, elk or moose.

$1400 for cushions XD they saw you coming mate. They're not even that good looking, now don't get me wrong they look fine but that's the point they look standard you could have had someone of Etsy make you the same sort of thing for about $300-400 at the most.

    • @jeffcobuilds2660
      @jeffcobuilds2660  3 роки тому +2

Your market might be different than mine, I tried for weeks just to find somebody willing to do the job. This was a local business and I had no problem paying the price for these cushions there good foam and done by a good craftsman. Thank you for the feedback but I’d go to the same place again in a heartbeat.
