agreed! not sure if this was a mistake, but every time tom accepted them using ''clues'' when they didnt need too, like ''ill use a clue to get 2 successes - okay... you fail (needed 3)'' or ''ill use a clue to get 3 successes - okay... you succeed (only needed 2). So annoying!
I'm almost entirely certain that is intentional for the game. That tends to be how these things work. The players aren't meant to know how many successes they need and they have to choose whether or not they gamble with their clues.
beliver1980 I'd love that, but I'd like to see the third mission b4 the next star trek sequel and with Simon here I don't think that's going to happen.
beliver1980 I don't watch much of Hannah, so I don't know how she plays tabletop games. But I do know that Trot is good at RPing and doesn't take too much time with his actions. I would not recommend Sips or Kim because, Sips is super chill and takes the tension away (also he takes his time talking ) and kim would distract Duncan (also she Marry Sues the shit out of her character).
jon bad I know right, I was pretty triggered by that. I think it's reasonable to assume from that conversation they had at the end that he didn't want to because he didn't think it was playing the game right, but this is the yogscast, Duncan! playing the game wrong is a big part of it.
God I love it when I JUST finish binge watching Games Night till 5 am and they release yet ANOTHER video. Gotta love Yogscast. The best guys. The real guys.
I'm loving the Games Night productions! This was a great series and if there's room for variation and a new experience for those playing it, I'd love to see another game. You were all awesome!
Tip for Tom: You need to do evasion checks when you do any action that isn't an attack action while in a space, or passing through a space, that has a monster in it. Also, they are correct- you are not allowed to reveal your insanity. This is because, if you reveal it, you can "game" it. There are also insanity where only you win (Eg, start your turn in a space with only 1 other investigator while holding a bladed weapon. Instant win for you, everyone else loses. One I honestly think I'll just take out, as you could be playing a 3 hour game- just to have it end at the end of a blade.)
Now that you guys have finished this, I'd love to see you try Eldritch Horror or Arkham Horror. Set in the same universe, by the same company, but a little bit different (never played either one, myself, but going by what I've heard and what I know of the company, Fantasy Flight Games).
I don't care what ppl think about Tom being the game master, I think he's a strong beautiful kreative and fair man who don't need no perfection to be awesome. I love this series along with the D&D series etc. and I think the gamemaster/ruleguy is the most important member of the group and Tom Is the perfect candidate to (replace) Lewis as the gamemaster so Lewis can be a member of the party and wreck some shit up (star wars D&D). I can't wait to see some more good role-playing content from this healthy and good company called Yogscast. keep up the good work lads ;)
In order to interact with a token, you have to evade the monsters that are on top of it. Tom made a lot of mistakes, which some of them helped them while some of them screw them up. I hope they will play another mission. I really liked this playthrough! Maybe next time they will pay more attention to rules so the game will be more balanced and challenging.
We want more! We want more! Bring in Simon and Turps for the next game. Then one with Hat Films. Then Duncan and Kim... and keep grabbing random office staff until everyone has had a turn.
Amazing run! We want more! :D And do not worry about the small mistakes with the rules and whatnot, the game has way too many things to keep track of reliably ;)
That was really fun, though after now seeing Tom as the 'guide' in this and DM in Star Wars RP, I feel sorry for him that he couldn't flex his evil DM powers here and was very limited to what the app said happened
If the Star Spawn had moved through walls like it was meant to, they would have failed like most players. This game is supposed to be super hard. It was a fun watch, though
I love it so I hope they do more, but as always only if they enjoy it. Also I want to know more about how Agata got pregnant, she seemed quite surprised.
Bit of a late binge, but I loved it. I still have absolutely no clue why Duncan wouldn't tell them his insanity. At the start, I assumed they were a secret thing, but after both sjin and lewis let go of that premise it seemed a bit pointless not to. Having to keep secrets from allies when they don't always negatively influence them would be a silly mechanic anyway. You're fighting against yourself trying not to show it in order to... make things harder for yourself? That's just not fun.
Lethal Pigeon they are meant to be kept secret, it's in the rules. That's because some of them turn the investigator against the rest of team, or require them to kill another investigator. So unless the players are familiar enough with the cards to convincingly bluff that they had something else, keeping quiet is the easiest way to play it.
I enjoyed this a lot even though Tom messed up quite a bit. Maybe make sure he reads everything or switch out who is the reader everytime, that could be fun.
Even with all the mistakes, for me this is one of the best complete series the Yogs crew has done in a long time.
agreed! not sure if this was a mistake, but every time tom accepted them using ''clues'' when they didnt need too, like ''ill use a clue to get 2 successes - okay... you fail (needed 3)'' or ''ill use a clue to get 3 successes - okay... you succeed (only needed 2). So annoying!
I think that's part of it, they gotta risk using a clue not knowing if they will succeed or fail.
yea that could be the case, and if its not then im annoyed, but it sounds a bit strange
More more !
I'm almost entirely certain that is intentional for the game. That tends to be how these things work. The players aren't meant to know how many successes they need and they have to choose whether or not they gamble with their clues.
Another game! I demand it!
I agree , do more missions with more peeps, maybe Simon
beliver1980 I'd love that, but I'd like to see the third mission b4 the next star trek sequel and with Simon here I don't think that's going to happen.
true, who would you see join them? me maybe Hannah
beliver1980 I don't watch much of Hannah, so I don't know how she plays tabletop games. But I do know that Trot is good at RPing and doesn't take too much time with his actions. I would not recommend Sips or Kim because, Sips is super chill and takes the tension away (also he takes his time talking ) and kim would distract Duncan (also she Marry Sues the shit out of her character).
Miroslav Radev eh disagree with kim but your right with the rest espesicly Sip, even if he's an awesome bastard :)
the ride is over
....
but I want it to keep going
Oh please i loved this. Make a second one. I dont care if its 50 episodes long. PLEASE!
I was so confident Duncan's insanity was to kill every enemy before they close the portal, that's why he was running for the starspawn
Hellfire Heroes Why didn't he just tell THEM?
jon bad I know right, I was pretty triggered by that. I think it's reasonable to assume from that conversation they had at the end that he didn't want to because he didn't think it was playing the game right, but this is the yogscast, Duncan! playing the game wrong is a big part of it.
did you watch the entire vid
LOVE IT!
ANOTHER!
150 minutes sounds great!
I would love to see more of this
Do the longest game!!!! Its great fun to watch.
I would love to see more like this, but with Tom also playing with them and not just being the DM.

Now that you guys have finished this, I'd love to see you try Eldritch Horror or Arkham Horror. Set in the same universe, by the same company, but a little bit different (never played either one, myself, but going by what I've heard and what I know of the company, Fantasy Flight Games).
It's also the company that made "Aye, Dark Overlord!" *and* Star Wars: Edge of the Empire!

In order to interact with a token, you have to evade the monsters that are on top of it. Tom made a lot of mistakes, which some of them helped them while some of them screw them up.

If the Star Spawn had moved through walls like it was meant to, they would have failed like most players. This game is supposed to be super hard.
