Yes and yes again. I'm learning more and more now, just seeing his moves reflected in others' work gives me a kick. He did that! His vocal characters, a bit of Bowie maybe. I'm loving that Stress album ATM)

I was too young to comprehend how significant Organized Konfusion was to the Golden age of Hip Hop. 2016 was the year I listened to their 1994 album and I must say that's the definition of the Golden Age of Hip Hop
All of his albums are sick but the newest one, ptsd, and internal affairs are just on another level. Somehow at the age of about 15 I found myself and a friend on shrooms at 3am in my room listening to the entire internal affairs album. Id owned it for a couple yrs but never appreciated how amazing it was untip that night. And never fully appreciated the genius of Pharoah until years later. That is a memory I will never forget. Each song made us feel like we were in a completely different world.
Monch is my Scorpio Brother, and someone I've known for some years now. He is indeed one of the most humble beings I've encountered in the industry. He is ironically so humble, that he gets a bit shy when you mention him as one of the greats. Last time I actually saw him was 2019, when I did an opening Deejay set for his anniversary of Internal Affairs...the only time he wants to hear "Simon Says" is when he performs it. He will be turned off if you play it if he is at a venue hearing someone spin... About Russell Simmons. He is also the man who didn't wish to sign Public Enemy either. His biggest concern was creating "hit records" as opposed to strictly having a talent. "In Vitro" is one of my favourite songs. They indeed are incredible and feed off of each other...

Thank you for this. I've always said that Pharoahe Monch is the most talented rapper of all time. His technical ability as an emcee paired with his poetic mind is absolutely unmatched. _Nice!_ Always glad to see Monch get his flowers - especially from a great channel like Def Goldbloom... he's been one of the best MCs on the planet since the '90s. A total BEAST! Organized Konfusion is incredible, Monch's solo debut is an absolute HipHop classic, and the recent project from his band th1rt3en, _A Magnificent Day For An Exorcism,_ is a great piece of work which many unfortunately overlooked. Equinox was by far OK's most achieved project. All the lyricism and MC'ing skill they gathered along the years were synthetized and layed out with the most flawless ease on this last album of 97'.
From how I currently understand it the voice character creation is largely attributed to Slick Rick. Pharoahe Monch took it to the next level and was distinct, but when it is put into words it is hard to not at least nod to Slick Rick. This is a great video. I would like to see who doesn't agree to gain perspective. Pharoahe Monch is definitely in my top 3 MCs.
