you can do it in kontakt much much faster than this, in youtube search look for this ------> Cubase 4 & Kontakt Psytrance kickdrum roll tutorial this kontakt method has far more control
Thank you, very informative Video! I have a Question regarding the Funktion shown at 1:45 in the video. Since I do not own Cubase, are there other DAWs or plugins with similar features? I tried the Delay technique, however my sound gets muddier from repetition to repetition and I don't get mono compatibility with this technique I have Ableton, Studio One, Pro Tools and FL Studio.
Awesome! You are definetely making the most informative psytrance youtube videos on production out there. I've got Ableton, do you mind adapting your vidz so Ableton users also can make the tricks you show.
Thanks man :) I try be as DAW-fluid as possible in my videos, but unfortunately there are some things which some DAW's just can't do, it's one reason I've stuck with Cubase for so long - I have always been a fan of the deep audio editing and offline processing capabilities.
@@Zanbato2000 never used Logic so can't tell you, but all of the basics of sound synthesis, arrangement, automation etc are pretty similar across all the big DAWs - they just look different.
Hi man I really like your tutorials, you teach me a lot. And also really like this track you are working on, is there an estimate when it will be released?
One way is to make a really long kick loop. Save a copy of the project, then solo kick, and automate the bpm going faster and faster. then export the clip, bring back into regular project, disable warp on it, and then do pitch shift on it.
Hey Dash! Is there any other way to do what you did using Cubase but using an external plugin instead? I use Logic Pro-X and I am not sure the same tool exists Great work by the way!
Dude, what version of Cubase was this done in? I'm using Artist 9.5. Do I have limitations on pitch shift capabilities? I don't see any options to adjust semitones in the pitch shift settings.
I'm still on Pro 8.5, I think you gotta check the tabs at the top of the pitch shift menu, there should be an "envelope" option - i think it's named that
I used to be on Artist, and I seem to remember being able to do this, unless they removed it in Cubase 9, which I think is unlikely :) let me know if this helps
I was using a sampler track for my kick. I change it to an audio track, bounced to audio was able to do it. Things are slightly different in 9.5, actually a bit better as in you just keep adding the pitch shift process in the direct offline processing window. its very cool. thanks for the video.
hey dash do you look at tunes at all and do some feedback? would love to hear some thoughts ive got some tunes im gunna be performing somewhat soon fo ra first gig and would love to hear any tips or tricks that might help
FL comes with a few delays, atleast Fruity Delay 2 and 3 and Fruity delay bank. Not sure which ones are included in which version tho. Demo has them all :D Atleast Fruity delay 3 can do those kinds of delays, probably the others can too.
Could maybe try loading a kick into a sampler. Loop it and close the loop length over time while also pitching the sample up. Dont know what that'd sound like, haven't tried it
This works. Automate loop length and pitch on the kick in a separate instance in Simpler. It's a lot more finnicky and tedious than in Cubase but it can definitely be done :)
I guess everyone that's not using cubase is stuck on the same problem.. if anyone manages to make it please share so we can all be psychedelic superstars together eh?
For the fucking life of me I got it in live. Simpler - 1 voice, snap = off, loop = on and you put ONE long sustained note then you automate the 'end' parameter. You can do transpose and hp/lp cutoff as well. Also you need to first crop the kick to 1/4 before you feed it to simpler. Slap the sample on an audio track, warp = on and lenght 1 beat.
You've definitely earn yourself a new patron. Your tutorials are just insane. So good.
mate you the best UA-camr with real info love you :)
hi great video, how can you do the pitch shift kick on abelton ?
Dash, do you know of a third party pitch shifter that does the job of the cubase one. Such a cool technique that I cannot yet replicate
you can do it in kontakt much much faster than this, in youtube search look for this ------> Cubase 4 & Kontakt Psytrance kickdrum roll tutorial

Thanks bro, you are an excellent teacher.
Thank you man ! I love your job !

That voice is from the Vice Documentary with Wim Hof the Iceman. Dude what a coincidence, I started his breathing exercises 4 days ago! :'D

Most of what he does here can be done in Ableton - you just need to look carefully at what he is doing. And have a good grasp of your DAW!
@@jonstein4606 What about in Logic?

@@jonstein4606 Ive been digging around this particular issue and i came with solution, DUB DELAY kinda does the same effect
love every tutorial
good as always

I would love to! tell all the promoters about me ;)

also you dont have to save a copy if you are careful with setting the tempo back to original after doing the automation.
Can you make a video how to build up the bassline?
2:24..... cracked myself... such calm.... "Ah no sh**".. Hahaha!
excelent do you have a part ? , your videos are very informative, greetings from mexico
awesome Tutorial 🤙🏼
Thanks :D

Yeah dealing with the same problem here
Thank you so much for this. I had H-dalay for a long time, and I didn't even know you can do this. Would this technique also work on the kick?
Yup indeed, although be careful as the kick is a very full-frequency sound, so make sure to put a limiter :)
what synth preset are you using for that "meow-ing" sound? :)
how do i create that kick thing in fl studio?
I ´d really like to know this as well!

Hey there how can we achieve this Pitch Shift effect on the kick in Ableton? :)
Did u ever figure out how to do this in ableton? Im trying to figure it out myself :)
