I genuinely think Murray Gold is up there with some of the greatest film composers of all time: Hans Zimmer, John Williams, etc. These legendary composers are known for their eclectic scores on different films and franchises but I think that makes Murray Gold even more extraordinary because he managed to achieve the same diversity on one TV show. The music of Doctor Who has literally shaped my whole life, so many iconic themes that never get old and I will continue to listen to for the rest of my life, so without a doubt the show wouldn't be the same without it. Personal favourites of mine are probably: A Dazzling End, The Lone Dalek, I Might Change My Mind, The Long Song and The Doctor Forever (in all its variations) but there are too many to count.
With the Cybermen theme, I prefer Malcolm Clarke's Cybermen theme from the 80's, heard in Earthshock and again in Attack of the Cybermen. I do like Murray Gold's scores quite a lot, especially the pieces you have mentioned, but I'm a fan of the Radiophonic Workshop 'incidental music' from the 80s and the music from Dudley Simpson before that. The Radiophonic Workshop scores to season 18 and 19 in particular are really great with Paddy Kingsland, Peter Howell and Roger Limb being amoung my favourites.
Murray Gold was always been great but since his return, he has achieved 'Legendary' status! The Doctor Who Music community on UA-cam was beginning to stagnate towards the end of Chibnall's era but when Murray came back it's like it reignited the spark in so many UA-cam channels that became famous for Doctor Who Unreleased Music.
Ok that was catchy, I rebuke your take. I understand the musical backlash, not everybody loves musicals, but it was still incredible. The blend between diegetic/non-diegetic score in that episode was… chef’s kiss
Plan to be a cinematic film composer murray gold big influence the music in WHO is so important character development, story-telling some of Gold's best hits are his themes.
The classic show didn’t have as many iconic tracks compared to Murry Gold, most music was made by different people and/or is public domain, but some composers, e.g. Dudley Simpson would compose many scores for many stories
Bit of a different video so idk how it will peform but i hope you enjoyed!

All the evil choirs themes they have with the daleks are also SO iconic imo, especially during RTD 1 era
Murray Gold, the legend you are
Imagine doctor who without music 😂
I literally just need to turn on the very first episode. No need to imagine anything.
You forgot the masterpiece known as Wilf's Wiggle

I also wish we had the soundtrack of series 10 as their is a version of The Master's theme that was part of that series I can't hear
Murray Gold genuinely inspired me to become a composer
I think some more important songs to mention are Rose’s theme, Hanging on a Tablaphone, and Doomsday.
Everyone of my generation remembers Rose’s departure 😢

Did he make that “There’s always a twist at the end” song? If so that’s close to ruining his whole legacy that 😂

What about the classic doctor who theme
