I mixed up the capacity ratings in this video. The STATIC load is 850 lbs and the DYNAMIC is 300 lbs. Also, the squeaking that I mentioned is completely gone at this point and stopped approximately a week after install! I could not be happier with this rack!
@@Cerrulfio static weight is while the vehicle is not in motion while dynamic is when it is. Dynamic weight means there is a lot of weight transfer that will happen with whatever is on the rack so it responds differently than when parked
@@Cerrulfio no you can absolutely use it! The static weight is 850lbs so you guys will be good. You’ll have another 480lbs before you hit the weight limit
Where exactly was your squeaking? I have GFC RTT with trmr rack with pakrax and it’s driving me insane. Everything is tight and installed correctly but continues. I’ve had both products for about a year now, the RTT isn’t on everyday
Thanks for the great content! Here, and on the other 'favorite things about your Bronco'. Couldn't agree more about 99% of what you share. I've been with my OBX for 15 months now, and could, not, be happier! No issues what so ever! And I lOVE the sound system! All of it! Every time I get in! I'm close to purchasing the TRMR, and will likely pick up my roof top tent at next years overlanding expo.
Wow, that is just about as good as it gets as far as products go. Made in the USA, complete bolt on and super thought out and we’ll-designed. I LOVE that it will allow you to go topless. That is going be soooo nice to have!! Excited to watch this Bronco in action! Excellent choice!!!
Thanks for posting. I just had mine installed Wednesday. I don't have the RTT (ikamper 3.0 mini) on it yet but happy I have the Badlands suspension. I have the 2dr & believe I'll have 22" storage left on the rack - for a hard case. It appears it will be difficult to frequently remove the RTT. At this point that's the only reason I'm scratching my goatee... looking forward to Overlanding. Looking good! 👍👍
Dude congrats! That’s going to be such a sweet setup! Yeah because it’s so high once it’s on its kinda on haha. Definitely lots of videos of it in use coming your way!
What to start with my wife and I really enjoy your over landing videos. Absolutely amazing. We have a 24 4 door Badlands with the 2.7. We are looking to do some over landing as well. But Ford will not sell the roof rack system for the Badlands with the 2.7. They say it is a safety issue. We are looking at copying your setup with the RTT, but I’m concerned about safety with the wife and kids driving on the highway. Have you had your on long trips on highway and had any issues where you felt it was top heavy or anything?
Does it come with any side carrier and ladder (similar to range rover defender)? I’ve been interested in the Vanguard rack but noticed the quality isn’t there. Any compatible side carrier and ladder accessories I can buy? Also, I’ve seen in a Ford promotional video of the PakRack jerry cans mounted on the roof (like 60°) with some kind of bracket, but I can’t find this bracket so if you could help me out i’d appreciate it.
It doesn’t come with the rack, but there is an option extra which is the pak rax which allows you to mount a ton of stuff on the outside, including Jerry cans. No ladder though
Cheers for the video, will take on some of your install advice. Just paid US to CA import tax for the TRMR and awaiting delivery. Got the rack with the Heretic light bar, water and gas Rotopax, shovel and axe mount plus grab handle. It’s in Winnipeg and can’t wait to install it when the temps get better. 😊👍
Nice review. Just placed my rack order for 2-door Wildtrack. Next shopping for tent. Scratching my head because there is not much length to plunk that tent LOL
Hahaha yeah the two doors and stubby little things lol! The ikamper skycamp mini would be good. But I’ve seen people put clam shells on the two doors as well. Hopefully you used my code! Much appreciated!
Great video! I'll be getting this rack at some point in the near future as well. Also just a heads up I think you mixed up the dynamic and static load ratings.
Oh shoot! Thanks for letting me know. Probably sounded right to me cause I knew what I was trying to say! But yeah this rack is for sure the way to go!
David, I enjoy your channel and content. I’ve been watching for a while now. Looking forward to all the new adventures with the Bronco. I’m curious if you still have the Mammoth Overland trailer and if you plan on towing it with the Bronco on some upcoming trips.
The weight capacities aren’t as high as the TrailRax and the trailrax also has a 90* bend on the side rails which gives you more mounting locations. I’d still go TRMR personally
Hey you mention in one of your other videos that you rented a bronco. Where did you do that? My family wants to rent one for a extended weekend to see if it will be a vehicle we will want.
I’m not sure how the hilites mount. There is at track on the forward bar that you can mount stuff too though. Just don’t use the wind deflector and it may work. I know they also have a wind deflector cut out for 40” light bars
I’m honestly not sure. The cutout is 40” so I would imagine anything 40” or less should fit just fine. If you’re running all pods though I’m not sure. The TrailRax crew is super helpful and should be able to answer more conclusively
Thanks for the great video. Do you happen to know the max height of your tent? I was thinking of getting the TRMR with the same tent mounted on a stock height Wildtrak (which includes the Sasquach package). Thank You
I love my soft top, but the lack of roof racks for it has me wishing I'd gotten a hard top. But with Ford dealer pricing currently set around $25K, that's not happening...
@@BrooklynNY1979 With import, shipping, and conversion, the Advanced Fiber one comes out to roughly $10,000 CAD. Which better than 25k but still way more than I am willing to spend.
Hands down the only rack to get? I enjoy your content but statements like this make you come off as a shill. I got the RCI rack for my Bronco, and it’s been fine with more load on top than you usually carry in your uploads. As an example, my 4x4 Colorado rtt is nearly twice as heavy as the skycamp mini, and I frequently throw a kayak on top of it. I have a heavy pvc shower system on top. No issues with the RCI or the hardtop itself. The RCI is also half the price of the Tremor rack. I’m not dissing the TrailRax, I’m certain it is excellent on every level except price. Sorry for the rant, I just didn’t like that comment.
I don’t think I’ve ever said that about a product before. I just really believe in this product. The fact the it’s the only rack that ford themselves endorse is a big deal in its own. Also, the Rak pax is patented by TrailRax which is why their capacity is higher then others. I’m a big fan of RCI products, but I truly believe the the TRMR is the best in the market. I will say this though. Everyone has different needs for there rig. So while I love this rack for my needs, it might not be the best solution for everyone. For instance, the JCR rack (I think that’s what it’s called) you can run as a full rack or just half rack which is pretty dope.

@@Cerrulfio static weight is while the vehicle is not in motion while dynamic is when it is. Dynamic weight means there is a lot of weight transfer that will happen with whatever is on the rack so it responds differently than when parked

I am going to get a light bar up there as well. The lighting on the Bronco needs SO much help from factory

Hi amazing video. So how is the wind noise in highway? I’m planning to get trailrax
Which tent is that. Skycamp or the mini. How does the bronco handle the weight
Thank you for this video. I exactly know now what i have to get for my 2022 Badlands SAS ✌✌

Thank you! No, unfortunately I got rid of the mommath. I loved it, nothing against it it just needed to go
Did you use the Trailrax HD tent mounts (sold separately)? Stock tent mounts to secure to the roof rack?
Bad ass tents makes a great bronco modular rack gonna possibly be my choice

Looking forward to a great overlanding
Curious if you detected a noticeable change to wind noise, or whistling with the rack?
No I didn’t. With the tent on I did, but not the rack itself
Great videos and adventures! Is there HW available that would allow for mounting a 270 degree awning?
Thank you! They actually just released a 270 mounting bracket
Hey you mention in one of your other videos that you rented a bronco. Where did you do that? My family wants to rent one for a extended weekend to see if it will be a vehicle we will want.
There’s a company called Turo we rented it through. It is a platform where the vehicle owner can list their car for rent

Nice rig ...the rack seems real nice... How hard would it be to put a light bar with this rack?
Super easy! They have a cutout option to be able to mount one. Then ford obviously set it up nicely with the upfitter switches

Can you get the front and middle roof panels off with this rack? - thanks
Yes you can!
What tent did you go with?
So I was running the iKamper skycamp mini for a long time but recently just switched to the iKamper BDV Duo
This is just for the hard top right?
Yes it is
Just got my forklift to put the tent on… 😂😂😂
lol I’m lucky to have access to one for this for sure
