THIS VIDEO SAVED MY LIFE. too bad the creator died horribly and tragigly and badly when he was caught casting an illegal spell in the 1300s and was promptly feasted by the local gnome police security community. my condolences to his family! soooooooooooooooo sad!
This is my favorite opening. Bought a chess book when I started learning. Opened it up and randomly saw the Larsens 1.B3 opening and having been playing it ever since. I have played over 80 games with it. But, I haven’t ever really found a video that explains a lot about it or the other variations. This video is a life saver. I will be referring back to this video a LOT as I continue to work on my beloved baby orangutan opening 🦧 Thank you so much !
This is 'the best' chess channel I've ever come across... very clear explanation, every move covered...I've seen a lot of channels but this one's a gem 💎
Very clear video, the pace of the explanation is just great: we can pause and replay over the board - so many tutorials engage in lengthy side comments with a sleepy voice. Great. Keep going.
the best explanation in the entire history of chess i have seen till now, i started playing this opening and i have came across many opening videos for this and kings indan this channel is literally the best one. (please do kings Indian -pirc defense) (with its all variations like this video)
Here’s the thing though. I’ve played this opening a ton in blitz and rapid games over the years. The one thing this video fails to address, which I run into about every other game, is people just push their E pawn so you have a hard time developing your pieces.
Depending on when he plays e4 it is either c4 preventing d5 or d3 challenging the overextended e pawn. That's just at a cursory glance though, the Lichess database is fantastic and you can find all sorts of lines and variations there.
I been off chess for many years (10+). There is an upcoming (2 weeks) strong blitz and rapid event that I want to play (it will have GM, IM, FMs). I'm just 1800, so to cover my lack of opening preparation, I'll choose this opening to focus my training on tactics. I'll update here after the tournament to let you know if it worked for me. By the way, is there a video for 1...b6?
At 12:39 you're suggesting black play Rb8 but that's not even in the top 3 best moves black has in that position. Black can trade Nxd4 Qxd4 and then follow it up with b5. That doesn't look like a fun position to play for white. The Dutch variation also underestimates black's kingside attack. This video is fine but I hate when the openings are presented as flawless and awesome in all variations. This opening is not flawless and not always awesome. It's disingenuous to present it like that.
And the last variation. The entire point of that is black can force white to play Bc1 with advancing the pawn to a3 (not capturing) after Nc3. Why did you dismiss that? Black is BETTER there after Nc3. 1. b3 a5 2. Bb2 a4 3. Nc3 a3 4. Bc1 Come on.
Why this videos never show the way my opponent plays? 😅 What to do if my opponent protects his pawn on e5 directly with pawn f6 instead of Bd6 ?? (min. 1:42)
I'm going to punish you for your bad behavior, if we go out together we have a couple of likes. Take a photo that can be seen in the ship when we do ugly things
Every time I analyze a video like this and try my best to have a clean game and get practice with it my opponent ends up playing something like f1 or h2 I swear 😭
Bro literally every time i play it my opponent plays the modern variation, i encountered the classical few times and the dutch variation is surprisingly so strong against this opening😭

Huh?
Wtf???
Hate when that happens . I’ve been there before 😔
What is your username i would love to analyse and learn from your nimzo games

Been learning chess through ur videos, ur queen gambit course helped me a lot, climbed to 1400! Thank you
This is OP for blitz
Not just for blitz. I recently started using it and I've had great succes with it!
Very clear video, the pace of the explanation is just great: we can pause and replay over the board - so many tutorials engage in lengthy side comments with a sleepy voice. Great. Keep going.
HOLY CRAP THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! bro this video is beyond helpful you earned a sub, i’ve never seen a chess opening put so simply like this before
the best explanation in the entire history of chess i have seen till now, i started playing this opening and i have came across many opening videos for this and kings indan this channel is literally the best one. (please do kings Indian -pirc defense) (with its all variations like this video)
Yes! I’m craving a kings indian pirc too!
Excellent video, covering center play & flank set ups, including KID & Dutch
awesome video, i hope for more b3 lessons
tired of playing c4 as a white and found this great video, actually openings like reti or nimzo-larsen is very unique
Here’s the thing though. I’ve played this opening a ton in blitz and rapid games over the years. The one thing this video fails to address, which I run into about every other game, is people just push their E pawn so you have a hard time developing your pieces.
As a 1700 this is where i go everytime i want to try new openings
YES I JUST LEARNED THIS AS A SUPRISE OPENING
THIS VIDEO IS CRAZY! IN THE SONG DYNASTY HE WAS STUFFED INTO A CANNON and FIRED into a crowd of spectators R.I.P.
that was great .. you got a sub.
I liked how you explained the thinking behind some moves and what squares you were trying to control
I'm a fan of the b3 opening. Would you have this written material for us to access, with the main variations?
Great video. Thanks
This is awesome! Thank you for this 🤝
Can u do this for B6
AMAZING VIDEO WHY DONT U HAVE MORE SUBS
what if black plays e5 then e4 and supports the pawn with d5? i have trouble with that
Depending on when he plays e4 it is either c4 preventing d5 or d3 challenging the overextended e pawn. That's just at a cursory glance though, the Lichess database is fantastic and you can find all sorts of lines and variations there.

Very useful, I play this opening a lot
Ive been play8ng this since 1 month and I gained 400 elo
Why not Nf3 first to try and stop e4
14:43 I wouldn't play 3.Nc3 because after 3.a3 white has to undevelope his bishop and black can further protect that a-pawn with 4.e6.
Very good video 👍
I would like the pgn file if possible 🙏
Thanks you
Would you make a lichess study or publish the pgn file of this course ?
I don't see the answer
Why is it when you play a computer these classic/textbook moves never occur! I often get my bishop and rook into a vulnerable position....
I mean, playing the reti and then trying to play the nimzo-Larsen after that is a better way of playing at the higher levels
Thankfully my normal system to deal with these queenside fianchettos is not mentioned here e.g.
b3 e5 Bb2 Nc6 e3 d5 Bb5 f6.
how about a nimzo indian video? :>
Do one about czech defence :3
(14:45) After Nc3?, black is simply better with a3 and e5. Very poorly suggested.
We want an opening for that confuses beginners and play dumb
could u do an ultimate guide to the Dutch?
Bishop to d6 at 4:58 instead of Queen to h4, and thr engines says im losing. Mind to fix it, and not furthir lead your viewers to damnation?

1. b3 a5 2. Bb2 a4 3. Nc3 a3 4. Bc1
Come on.
A disappointing video. Only useful if you play low grade patzers. Strong defences by black have simply been ignored.
What to do after
1. b3 e5 2. Bb2 Nc6 3. e3 d5 4. Bb5 f6
For example
5. Qh5+ g6 6. Qh4 Bd7
However many likes this somment gets i have to do pushups as many as the likes on my youtube channel
Ultimate guide to French defense 😳
Your opening videos are very, very good.
Just like Gotham in his pre super fame years, you will hopefully blow up in popularity soon!❤
Very informative video on the Nimzo-Larsen. I've watched several other and this one is clear and down to earth. Keep up the good work.
Hello Volclus! Can you make a video about how to play the English opening. I love this tutorial on the Nimzo-Larsen Attack! Thank you!
You are not saying the annoying lines
PNG please 😢😢
better than levy
Please consider making a video about the Tromposky opening!!
FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY I've been requesting this FOREVER!!!
Why this videos never show the way my opponent plays? 😅

The Nimzo-Larsen is like a hyper-accelerated Colle-Zukertort. Very similar.
Its a great and really well explained video. I needed a new opening to play and I you really helped me with this
0:50 So much development, and still the evaluation is just +1.5
This is my favourite opening after watching 87percent win rate in this opening ❤❤😂😊

Hello
Would you make a lichess study or publish the pgn file of this course ?
Thank you

Dude you deserve more and more subs
Is this opening good for tournaments?
At 6:20, what if Black plays e4???
Guys i think i have a fantastic game ahead of me
this is my secret opening
woah-
Three not free
حلو
6:17 what if instead of Castle he goes pawn e4 attacking the night?
oh, maybe Just Ng5 and Just double Attack It..
are you saying three or free? If you say free...instead of three, I don't think I can watch you.
Great Video!! Just wondering what if black plays e5 and after bb2 they just push the pawn to e4?
I subbed btw :)
and liked the video too
haev you tried the hippo
Nice vid🤝

14:45 Nc3 is actually a mistake as it allows a3 and it forces your bishop back to c1. The best move is to continue with e4.
The knight is defending that a3 square. That's not a mistake
Catalan 🤞
Great video !
Jaenisch Gambit ultimate guide 🤞 the one against the spanish
