The actual fact that anyone hates any band for the music they create, meaning you hate the music is just down right laughable. I mean what is it exactly that you hate? The fact that the songs themselves exists at all? How miserable and low can you get to hate some music that others happen to like? Now if you hate the band itself for their stance on certain topics, maybe they are racists or other political stuff the endulge, I can understand that but that is totally different than to hate the music - hating a band for many of the reasons provided here is just hilarious and ridiculous really. If you do not like their music - then do not listen to it, chances are that millions of people do not like the music you like. Now if you are forced to listen to Nickelback because of other people, hate those people for forcing you into it (although I hardly think anyone is forcing you in reality). I personally do not like most of Justin Bieber's music, and I also do not like the person he appears to be, but I do not hate him and I obviously do not mind the fact that his music exists, as other people seem to enjoy it :D
Any chance of a future video on Why People Hate U2? I do like a number of their songs and such, but it seems a lot of people don’t like them. And here seem to be a few reasons: Decline in musical quality from their peak years in the late ‘80’s to ‘90’s. They had some hits in the early 2000’s, but not much since. Their overinflated ego in terms of how big a band they are, as well as occasionally forcing their music on people (namely that whole iTunes controversy with their Songs of Innocence album). This kinda ties into that, but some of their talk about politics and their charity work, particularly with Bono. Overdone live shows (kind of a similar point with Muse, but these guys seem to go bigger than them). Those are just some I can think of.
I always considered this is how you remind me a song that spoke to my dad from me. When he died, Far Away was randomly downloaded to my phone. I felt it was a message from my dad saying, message received and I’m sorry. No one knew about my feelings about that song. Not even him. No one ever had access to my phone. The person I was supporting that day left while I was cleaning. Then I said, fine I’m going to play music. It was in a file alone. Decided to listen, and bawled right away. Since I was at work I sucked it up, finished my job, went home, told my husband asked if he did it(he said no and he doesn’t even know my password or significance of that band), and bawled some more. I love Nickleback. I don’t listen often, but when I do, I’d like to be drunk. I never am. Lol.
Adding onto numbers 1 and 3, they also promoted the hell out of bands that sounded exactly like Nickelback and got them in on the formula. Examples would be pushing the brand new (at the time) Theory of a Deadman onto the Spider-Man soundtrack in 2002, or promoting the Nickelback-mixed-with-Kid-Rock band, My Darkest Days. It’s one big butt rock bubble they’ve made
I hear people say all the time they hate bands like Nickelback because they’re top 10, the lyrics are formulaic, any instruments are simple and straightforward… with that logic, shouldn’t you hate the early and later work at the Beatles too? 😂
I think Creed gets less hate than Nickelback probably because Creed didn't last as long and I haven't heard anyone say a bad word about Mark Tremonti or the other guys, especially since they have produced some great stuff as Alter Bridge and earned a great reputation. Given a choice between Creed and Nickelback, I'd take Creed because outside of Scott Stapp's issues and some of his lyrics, the music in the background is pretty good, especially Mark's guitar playing.
May I counter the haters argument, If Nickelback, was the most hated band in the world, why would big name artists, such as Timberland Ke$ha, Chris Martin from Coldplay, Zach and Ryan from OneRepublic, hell, even Beyoncé, would say that Nickelback is such a huge influence on them? Boom, Battle won, no shots fired...
Yo in all honesty I liked Nickelback when I was like 13, I feel like they're just something so mediocre that you just naturally grow out of enjoying their music
MitchNin10dofan I don’t see what that last part has to do with anything other than the fact people say Nickelback aren’t rock just because they hate them
I knew someone who made multiple social media posts about the time Nickelback came to her work and she pretended not to know who they were, and I realized how many people love to hate on Nickelback simply because it's 'cool' to do so, as you pointed out. I figure the only reason to hate any music is because you've been forced to hear it more than you want to, and now that these guys aren't as prevalent as they were, it's a lot cooler to not have such a strong opinion about something that doesn't really matter. On a side note, I wonder if Nickelback has one of the biggest discrepancies between album sales and merch sales. I feel like so many people own a Nickelback album, but very few would ever wear a Nickelback t-shirt.
We live in a world where The Tragically Hip are virtually unknown outside of Canada, and Nickelback are world famous. The hate is real. The hate is warranted.
My greatest mystery is why nickelback is so hated. I love the bank and have never understood why people dislike them to this level. Most rock is borrowed from someone and they sound great and I love their lyrics. Don’t get the hate.
If the lead singer ever died tragically, all of sudden “I always loved nickelback and was their biggest fan in spite of all the haters” I can hear it now
Frankly the reason I like them IS because their songs sound the same and have the same formula that allows me to have the "oh gods I want another song just like this one" without the boredom that come with listening to the exact same song over and over again
They only hate them because it's the "cool" thing to say. Before you know it the cool thing will be to like Nickelback again, and they'll jump on that bandwagon too.
They're an alright band to listen to every once in a long while. I only liked a few of their oldest singles. But I wouldn't say I hate them or love them.
the number 1 reason why everyone at least says that they hate Nickelback, is because everyone else says that they hate Nickelback. In other words, people say they hate the band because it's become popular to say you hate them.
I personally don’t entirely hate Nickelback, but there’s a lot of Nickelback to Hate on. Imo, after All the Right Reasons, they really started to go down hill in album quality imo. But during the All The Right Reasons era, those 6 singles that came off that album became massive hits, just off of one Album. During 2005, all Rock Stations and some Pop stations were over playing those songs. Once a band hits Pop radio, that’s when people think they sold out, and that’s pretty much what they did post album. Their following albums did not live up to Hard Rock fan expectations and lyrics by Chad became mediocre.
I don’t LOVE Nickelback, they aren’t my favorite band in the world but I like a few of their songs. But honestly I don’t get all the hate towards them. I don’t think they deserve it and point 5 summed it up perfectly for me from what I’ve observed.
As someone who grew up after this drama and heard Nickelback for the first time with no knowledge of this, id say its better that all this rap bullshit... i personally think Nickelback is actually pretty decent than what all these yutes are listing to cuz most of it is just shallow lyrics with so chaotic beat..
It was instant. Everyone woke up one day and decided they hated Nickelback after hating Creed for so long. But then Creed formed Alter Bridge and became awesome so people had to find something else to hate.
My issue with Nickelback is their whole "butt rock" thing damaged rock and guitar driven music for a lot of people my age. Thank God for the internet. But I mean, Nickelback's music is fucking awful but they're marketing geniuses, can't hate them for that but I can hate their music.
I never hated them but I never loved them too. I only like a couple of there songs but can never listen to a full album. They are a product for there time that will be nostalgia the next couple of years. The next generation will see them as a memorable rock band for the 2000’s.
I kinda don't think af them, really. 🙄 I've lumped them into a category that also include Daughtry, Three Doord Down, Lifehouse types. I think of it as harmless rock--filler.
The music isn't written, it's calculated into existence. Safe (but not "too safe") predictable, familiar, guaranteed to maximize media exposure potential, while minimizing any possibility of challenging or alienating potential customers. It's the epitome of market research, focus group tested, design by committee slurry to be fed to the largest possible demographic. And they do it because there are more people in this world who are okay with that than there are who aren't. No matter how many people hate Nickelback, there's still enough people who are at least willing to give them their money that it doesn't matter. It's all about playing the number game. AND WE HATE IT BECAUSE IT WORKS, TIME AND TIME AGAIN! We see a band put out the musical equivalent to Candy Crush, and are loved and admired the world over for it. They deserve their money, I'll grant them that, but they do not deserve their fame.
Keep in mind that these are not my opinions in the 5 points presented, but I will weigh in with my thoughts on each. Thanks for watching/liking!

I personally do not like most of Justin Bieber's music, and I also do not like the person he appears to be, but I do not hate him and I obviously do not mind the fact that his music exists, as other people seem to enjoy it :D
If you play Nickleback songs backwards, you will hear messages from the devil. Worse, if you play it forward, you will hear Nickelback.
Any chance of a future video on Why People Hate U2? I do like a number of their songs and such, but it seems a lot of people don’t like them. And here seem to be a few reasons:
Decline in musical quality from their peak years in the late ‘80’s to ‘90’s.
And Coldplay too as well. Like people be talking trash about them and comparing them to U2. Whom people say are also bad.
@@jellyfishrock-hers7888 I think he already did a video on Coldplay though.
It’s one big butt rock bubble they’ve made
Nickelback is basically the Frozen of rock bands. Everyone only hates them because it's cool to do so and not actually because they make bad music.
In Britain it’s Coldplay who get the sharp end just because everyone else hates them
I hear people say all the time they hate bands like Nickelback because they’re top 10, the lyrics are formulaic, any instruments are simple and straightforward… with that logic, shouldn’t you hate the early and later work at the Beatles too? 😂
"They don't deserve their fame." I could say that about so many people... It's so subjective.
Kaura Price *Cardi B*
Kaura Price *Every trap rapper that gets on the chart today*
A Ranked Episode on Nickelback pls xD
JEVAN REED oh yeah 😂😂😂
Patrick Lauer ohhhh so *this* is where I saw you! Thanks dude
Has anyone ever heard their debut Curb? It is very underrated and it is raw and i love it. My favorite album is the album from 1999 The State
I love Nickleback 😂😭🤙🏽❤️
Personally I used to like Nickelback but overtime I just got sick and tired of their music besides most of their discography sounds the same to me
Not at all.
Chad Kroeger & Adam Levine have crippling depression.
They are just ok. You should a video about people hating Creed.
I don’t think Maroon 5 is even a band anymore.
I'm not afraid to admit that I used to like Nickelback back in my youth.
Also they're more of a rock band than Imagine Dragons.
MitchNin10dofan I don’t see what that last part has to do with anything other than the fact people say Nickelback aren’t rock just because they hate them
Imagine Dragons is the new Nickelback when it comes to "cool to hate" bands
Im not a part of everyone i guess.
In 2021 now, I still don’t know why people hate nickel-back so much...
If the lead singer ever died tragically, all of sudden “I always loved nickelback and was their biggest fan in spite of all the haters” I can hear it now
I really don't give a rat's patootie what "everyone" says about it, but I like Nickleback's music.
Frankly the reason I like them IS because their songs sound the same and have the same formula that allows me to have the "oh gods I want another song just like this one" without the boredom that come with listening to the exact same song over and over again
*Hold on to me, Never let me goooooooooo*
They only hate them because it's the "cool" thing to say. Before you know it the cool thing will be to like Nickelback again, and they'll jump on that bandwagon too.
They're an alright band to listen to every once in a long while. I only liked a few of their oldest singles. But I wouldn't say I hate them or love them.
Nickelback just went through a temporary hate phase imo. A lot of bands go through that phase and Nickelback's one was the harshest.
Why do I not remember writing this
1:30
They Exactly Sound The Same
Me :
That is Like AJR Too
But this Guys Deserve They Love More
All the Right Reasons has sold more than the entire Alice In Chains discography... ;(
the number 1 reason why everyone at least says that they hate Nickelback, is because everyone else says that they hate Nickelback.
In other words, people say they hate the band because it's become popular to say you hate them.
I don’t hate Nickelback and I listen to the few songs and they don’t sound the same
dude "how u remind me" was stuck in my head the last two weeks i just caaaan't
I don't hate Nickel Back I like some of them music. Maybe they should go back to their original formula. The first albums are cool to me.
I have always liked Nickelback. I don't care about the drama around the band, I just listen for the music and it's pretty decent.
Nickelback is still better then Cardi B without a doubt
Nickelback were my gateway into rock and metal. I grew up on these guys
The lyrics to Photograph may sound generic, but man, that tune is a time machine.
Actually people just hate your channel because you advertise hate
I love nickelback.!! He had great music so wtf
I think most people just say they hate Nickelback because it's the cool thing to do and get on the bandwagon. Their music isn't that bad.
I’m a huge Nickelback fan and I’ve never understood the hate. And I know a lot of other Nickelback fans as well!
Stuart Sharp I’m the same way
It was instant. Everyone woke up one day and decided they hated Nickelback after hating Creed for so long. But then Creed formed Alter Bridge and became awesome so people had to find something else to hate.
In their early days, I thought people were just bandwagoning on the Nickleback hate because it was the ''cool'' opinion.
Then Photograph came along...
My issue with Nickelback is their whole "butt rock" thing damaged rock and guitar driven music for a lot of people my age. Thank God for the internet. But I mean, Nickelback's music is fucking awful but they're marketing geniuses, can't hate them for that but I can hate their music.
intro guitar song?
Love Nickleback and saw them twice in concert...they are one of the best bands
I never hated them but I never loved them too. I only like a couple of there songs but can never listen to a full album. They are a product for there time that will be nostalgia the next couple of years. The next generation will see them as a memorable rock band for the 2000’s.
If you play a Nickelback album backwards you’ll hear satanic messages. Even worse if you play it forwards you’ll hear Nickelback.
I kinda don't think af them, really. 🙄 I've lumped them into a category that also include Daughtry, Three Doord Down, Lifehouse types. I think of it as harmless rock--filler.
I actually really love this band
