They definitely don't deserve the hate, underrated band!
@@factcheck5017 people talk shit because it’s trendy.
lol
@@factcheck5017 yea and 'their just jealous".. things that people use to cope.
Definitely don’t deserve the hate but they are appropriately rated as a band.
@@cvblaylockBut the fans...Tesla Fanbase = Nickleback Fanbase. If you don't enjoy, you must be a hater. Also for them to be an underrated band, they would have to be not payola played every f-n hour in the 2000's. Definitely not a underdog here😂
I never hated Nickelback. They have bangers! I celebrate their entire catalog
Accidentally on purpose is something I say a lot. Damn you.
For every banger they have a a few more stinkers
the true Nickelback hipster!
For my money I don't think it gets any better than When he sings when a man loves a women
They are a bit cheesy but they know how to write melody which is fucking hard
Bro Chad needs to be a reoccurring guest. He’s awesome lol
No he isn't
Good to see Daniel still with the band. Such an incredible drummer I played a handful of shows with 3 Doors Down in the early 2000's when he was their drummer. Such a nice guy. His nightly drum solos were a treat. I used to take his drum heads out of the trash can when his tech would change them out. I was broke and the heads were just about perfect. We were playing for the troops back then. Good times.
i've never been a huge nickleback fan, but always took notice of his drumming, especially on 'far away' which is a song i loved. Very powerful and just seemed like a perfect pocket drummer. Served the song 100%.
Daniel is amazing, I remember seeing him for 3DD too, then found David Martone because of him. When he went to Nickelback it was an exciting change as I already listened to them. But nothing compares too seeing Daniel with Dave Martone live in small venues (even after Nickelback), both guys are just top of their class. Was lucky enough to purchase the snare from the kit f Long and McQuade supplied for a show and is my favorite, daily snare for like 15ish years.
This was one of the gnarliest comments I've read, Thank you for the awesome story!
thank you for your gigs with the troops.
Nickelback are one of the best bands to ever exist! I am still praying that I get to see them live one day.
I'm sorry...
go to their youtube channel they are still doing a tour
@@fumanpoo4725 that’s cold lol
I’m going to see them tomorrow
@@coleterry2495 where are they performing at?
Chad Kroeger would be a great comedian, just naturally talented
No he isn't
You hate him enough to take time out of the day to comment “no he isn’t” lmao get back to work and quit wasting your time gossiping
Nickelback is 🔥🤟 unlike most bands ,they have songs that last forever. Everyone sings along when they come on and in some ways the songs hit us in different ways
Yea and they all sound the same
@@jeffginther7931 irrelevant. They’ve got lasting power and album sales speak for themselves.
@@georgefloydsinhellwbreonna5330yeah among people who can’t tell that Kroeger is a horrible fucking song writer, his lyrics just make me laugh 😂
@@georgefloydsinhellwbreonna5330 Armageddon was a successful movie, doesnt mean it should have happened
No they dont🤣🤣
I like how these guys are chill (and rich) as hell and don’t let the hate get them down. They produced some absolute bangers for a kid in middle school in the mid 2000s.
Im 79 and love love love Nickelback, Chads voice is incredible and the lyrics are amazing. You guys are the best.
The hate they get is so unjustified! Talented musicians, killer song writers, legit artists!!!
❤❤❤
Chad Kroeger is hilarious. Holy shit is he funny.
I think the crux of the Nickelback hatred is this: They never intended to be taken totally seriously, they had a tongue-in-cheek element to many of their songs, and Metal Elitists don't know how to handle that, and its those people who had the biggest issue. When people gripe about Nickelback and they say, "Well their stuff is just super formulaic, like 'Someday' is EXACTLY the same as "How you Remind Me'." Then, fine. Fair criticism. Except it's never that, it's always some dope who listens to some Trap music with 2 chords in the whole song and are like, "Man Nickelback sucks, they're so formulaic." Then you KNOW they're full of BS. And that's 90% of the people who don't like Nickelback.
As if metal isn’t formulaic. I’ve been to so many metal shows where the songs were completely indecipherable.
Or it’s total shiite. Could also be that
@@michaels7258 The only way you could say that is if you don't know wtf you're talking about lol
Thanks for all the great music and the memories guys, and see ya in Chicago this summer. It's going to be my first time seeing you guys live (very exited). 🤟
Nickelback might be my all time favorite "car stereo band". I almost every time listen to them when I'm on a long drive. It's just so high octane stuff that it gets me pumped every time and I can go the extra 100 miles or so. :DDD
We were animals
One of my favourite bands of all time. Incredible live shows, insane production quality, all amazing musicians/songwriters, and just very down to earth dudes. The State, Silver Side Up and The Long Road are some of the best rock albums of the past 30 years. Get Rollin’ is great too! 🤘
Man I hope you guys read this!
I always liked you and I even fought with strangers on Facebook when they talked shit.
Your guys rock!
I saw you guys at Bluesfest in Ottawa and every person in the crowd sang along to all the words.
I've always been down and always spoke up.
Excellent interview. Everyone is so relaxed and real. Doesn't matter how much money you have, as long as your real and love what you do. Fav band for over 25 years. So glad your back on stage again. Keep rocking!!!!🥰❤❤🤘🍻
I hope to see the show too!
I've always defended Nickelback when I heard people hating on them, not because I was a fan, but because they got blamed for things many other bands and artists were much worse at.
Nickelback music is not defined by a genre, it’s everything they intended!
Amazing and talented from day one.
No comparison not better, not worse just Nickleback!
Enjoy
I totally adore Nickelback, always have and always will, the music speaks for itself, such talented guys
Best band ever to me still after all these years don't know much singer that can sing all of there song live and sounds the same way to go love you guys ❤️
Man! This was a ton of fun! Being a metalhead, I´m loving Nickelback nice "Leader Of Men" dropped on MTV. Fucking love this band! Great musicians, great live band and a great sense of humor. Perfect!^^
Fantastic band, seen them live a few times so far. Keep it up guys.
Daniel’s like it was nice being here… I enjoyed just hanging out and being an accessory!
You guys helped me to find the love of my life, I told him I loved Nickleback, he had seen you live at some biker rallies. We both loved you, Thank You so much for helping me find the Love of My Life!
Their 2017 album Feed the Machine is very good, but was barely marketed. Not sure why because it was heavy and well composed all throughout.
I agree!!
Saaaame! Easily my favorite nickelback record.
Recently I feel like I’ve been seeing a pushback online against Nickelback . Seems like things are shifted and people are admitting they have bangers.
My profile picture is from your concert,My wife and I absolutely loved the live show in Cape Town in December 2013 at Grand West Casino,South Africa. Then you made the tribute to the late Nelson Mandela and we were all blown away. What a truly AMAZING night, thank you guys you were Awesome..Rock on!!!!!!!!!!!
Bro I so enjoyed what they talked about 😂😂😂 Chad is lit I was laughing my ah ofg
I had a long day at work today so watching this is comical relief
Nickelback is one of my favorite bands of all time
They are still one of my favorite bands of all time.
These guys are so sick, great job giving these boys their respect!
I love them - and when i have them cranking - never turned it down- people always get in my face being haters - i just laugh and say - another thing to make me unique ❤
one of favorite bands. love them a lot
Just bought tickets tonight, to see them next month at White River Amphitheater!! Feeling Stoked.....will be my first time seeing Nickelback, and first time at this venue!!
Great interview lads....
1 guy so happy to talk about being in nickleback. 2 guys that know they're in nickleback
These guys seem really cool, and I regret ever saying anything bad about them when I was younger. My best to you gentlemen!
Saw them live in 2014, best sound production I have ever heard
Luv the stories!!
Still one of my all time favorite bands!
There is something for everyone with Nickelback....loved every album!
I’m a hard core fan even have lyrics tattooed on my body I have never missed them when they come to Saskatoon I pray they come back on this tour
This was awesome! Man I had a laugh!
I cried after listening to San Quentin for the first time. Shook me to my core that a band could capture my inner being so perfectly.
21:35 - A prison podcast....that's actually a genius idea if it could happen 👀
i went to a NB concert back when they were very popular. it was an outside amphitheater. as soon as we got out of the car it started raining and rained the entire time and was the best concert iv ever been to
The wiping his tears with dollar bills popped me so hard. Comedy gold.
30:49 Chad busts out the “Never made it as a wise man” to get into clubs 😂
those dudes are totally deserving of the fame. I never hated them but they always set a pace for "new grunge" music while I was still stuck on nu-metal. i wish em all the best and might even go see em one day if my anxiety allows
They have such a great sense of humour.
I wasn't the biggest Nickelback fan, but they were overhated because they were mainstream. A lot of rock fans looked at them as sellouts. Reality is a lot of bands from that generation sold out. Maroon 5, Good Charlotte, Fall Out Boy, Coldplay. I feel like given the state of music (particularly rock), they're looked at more fondly.
People can talk shit about how they didn’t try anything new but who cares? The music is timeless and can still be listened to years later. Meanwhile, other songs for that era suck now
This literally had my eyes watering! So frikking good. 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Good stuff!
Not only do I wear my concert t-shirt proudly but my teenager does as well!🤘
Nickelback and Creed both get the same media treatment. Therefore, they are acts of perfection!
Nickelback will dominate classic rock radio for decades
And that is why rock is a dead genre
@@majesticgods5702rock isn’t dead it’s just not as mainstream as it was. Bands are arguably more creative now.
They are one of the greatest rock live bands of our time. Their live sound is out of this world
I never understood this and always jam to the classics I heard on the radio to this day.
I've been listening to Nickelback since I was in elementary school and then Silver Side Up just came out
Aaaaaand you guys rock just as much as them
Been listening FOREVER to you guys! And, my 25 and 21 yr olds are all about this band. I told em' when they got older...."okay, we're done with camping songs....we're listening to mom's music now 😆😁. What could they do, i was their taxi driver😁! We all love you guys!
Always loved them since they started ! And they are from Hanna, Alberta ,my home province
Bring them back they are still one of the greatest bands ever
Chad hits it bang on when he says most people turn down the songs while pulling up to lights , just to speed off and turn it up lmao
BRING BACK NICKLEBACK! NEVER HATED NICKELBACK TO BEGIN WITH
I loved Chad’s stories- “What is Wrong with you?” He is hilarious 😂 I have loved Nickelback for years. So glad I was was able to go and see them this past week. Great show! 😎
Welp, I’ve got to go listen to some Nickelback now
What a great interview love Nickleback and right on Ryan's child was born in the same year as my son. I will tour the world with my band i will make it happen.
On what minute they discuss the question?
Any chances we get to hear the betrayal act II? :D
I’ve LOVED NICKELBACK ever since my daughter left “Something in your mouth” on my computer. And that was 14 years ago when she moved from Santa Barbara CA to Idaho to live with her Dad. And I STILL LOVE YOU GUYS AT 67 !!!
This is great!
These guys are very funny and witty. Very entertaining!
I never thought much about Nickleback. Yea, I heard some songs on radio or internet but simply didn't give those guys much thought. Until my wife got tickets for her company's box seats and I saw them live. My wife never heard of them and doesn't think much of rock music. But she actually enjoyed their show also. They sounded awesome. They were fun, entertaining and rocked the house. I've only been to 3 concerts in the past 20 years due to costs. But I loved their show just as much as the other two I attended, Hall & Oates and Megadeth.
I’ve never understood the Nickelback hate they’re one of my top favorite bands of all time
This band is a MOOD! Love them.
One of my most beloved bands and always will be people are just jealous because of you're talent
Bought all heir albums, this is real music to listen too.
I have definitely talked my shit about this band thru the years. I think I was supposed to being a metal head back in the day. But they really seem like some down to earth guys. And their first album was definitely good
My favs by them are Savin Me and Too Bad. But I can sing along with all their songs.
i still enjoy their music
I definitely turned Nickelback down yesterday in my car lol But I always openly rocked them.
Love them, Photograph is a top tier song
Holy shit these guys are good. For years theyve been painted as a band whos not self aware but theyre fucking spot on.
i might have a little alberta biased but nickelback is awesome. In a bar at 2am and how u remind me comes it place goes nuts
I loved Nickel back off the rip, I introduced their music to many people in the black community and many other, Rock and Roll band
Ryan is starting to look like Al Borland and I can't unsee it...
Middle guy seems like the villian in a burt reynolds film
Corrupt mayor in a small logging town vibes
❤❤ Your guys is Amazing ❤❤
Thanks!
This is a great podcast. Chad is hilarious lol.
Love nickelback since 2000❤
I'll never forget when the video for How You Remind me came out. I was staying up late, drinking bourbon and in a somewhat bad place mentally. I cried alone watching it. It was tough times for me at the time and the depression was strong. Soon after, I was picking my daughter up for weekend visitation (thus why I was in depression...divorce) and she brought a friend with her. They were maybe 12-13 and they were in the back seat, totally dissing Nickelback and that video. I didn't get it then, and I dont get the hate since.
I lost interest in Nickelback, like with most bands, when they got money and fame and the albums got more and more "produced" and commercial sounding. I may go and take a listen to some of the later stuff and see if there is anything that appeals to my hard rock self. I still carry some of the old songs in my life mix, refined over 30 years of the best of the best for me.
I liked these guys in this interview. Seem like real good dudes.
7 songs overplayed on every station on the radio is what did it. The song for Spiderman as well.
Ryan is a great talent
uu, thank You, this was soooo fun
Nickleback is awesome, the best band ever going to see them for the 5th time in Knoxville Tn absolutely 💕 them
I never understood the hate thing. I frickin love Nickelback and always have!!! Even those that “say” they hate them still sing along 😂
I was just at a FFDP concert and, out of the blue, Ivan asked the audience who loved Nickelback? The whole crowd went crazy. He said something like, I knew y’all were cool. They’re a great band etc.. BTW, I also screamed my ass off.
