Rick Scott is a hypocrite! I'm a Florida resident and I will not be voting for Senator Rick Scott or Marco Rubio because of their lies 🤦
I'm a senior in my 60s, I'm medically retired due to a chronic nerve pain condition, and I take care of my adult son who is disabled from schizophrenia. He receives about $800 per month in SSI benefits. We are living well below the poverty line, so we get EBT benefits to help buy food. $251 for BOTH of us, so it's $125.50 for each, or about $4 per day each.
I get hateful glares at the grocery store when people see me "wasting their taxpayer dollars" on buying day old bread and marked-down items like bruised produce.
I pay income tax too, in fact I paid more income tax in 2020 than DJT did. He paid $0, I paid $750.
Those same people who glare at me in the grocery store checkout, and mumble about the "damn illegals" have no problem with MTG spending over $700 for one meal.
Because I'm not a "bleach blonde" and I'm tan from working outside, most assume that I'm latino.
Sadly, I wasn't fortunate enough to be born into a LatinX family, so I don't have loving relatives who give me emotional support. I do have wonderful friends here in my rural SoCal desert community. Beautiful brown people who have taught me how to cook and live well on limited income. They've lived here for generations, some have lived here since before California became a state. I've only lived here for 23 years.
