    About the “paying on time and in full”: it’s a really good idea to just treat a credit card like a debit card.

    For most people this won’t give you the the bonus you are looking for in groceries!! They use a loophole and stores like Walmart/ target/ Costco and classify them as “superstores” not the required “grocery store/ supermarket” for the bonus points!!!

    Cap 1 Savor is a great card, especially when traveling abroad. The coding for restaurants are a lot better than amex and the entertainment for the Savor is awesome. It's a must to have if you have a miles card with Cap 1 bcuz you dont have to use the cash back for statement credits you can just transfer the over to miles to the other card..The Capital One Bi-Fecta is a must.

    The Venmo credit card is great for cash back- 3%, 2%, and 1% on your top spend, second spend, and everything else, respectively. Adapts to whatever you spend on per billing cycle, with no cap on spend. It has also been the easiest card for me to get credit limit increases, I was just able to double it again only 3 months since my last increase. Along with the Citi Custom Cash card, you'll be set up to get 5%, 3%, and 2% on 3 categories just with 2 cards.

    I am a new credit card user, yet I am looking forward to getting points and using them somehow for a better choice, like traveling or a hotel. I do have a Discover Miles card, which I thought fit what I wanted, but it does not; however, I got this Bilt Mastercard, which I use every time I purchase or pay rent. I still use Discover, but for minimal purchases, I use only 1% utilization just to make that account active. I also got information about the Bilt Trifecta, and I am waiting to hear from those who use it if it really works and if it is legal. Can you do a video about your thoughts on this "Bilt Trifecta"? Thanks. =)

      Thanks for the question, and congrats on jumping on Bilt so early. If that's the hack involving the Curve card, I can't say I'm too familiar. However I can't see issuers happy they're getting gamed. It's a gray area as it is so early in the exploit, so tread cautiously

    • @tekwizz123
      @tekwizz123 Рік тому

      @rechardocon470 @johnsfinancetips The trick won't work any more from what I can tell you will either loose points if a refund is taken from your Bilt account (and they won't give you the points back, so you'll essentially just loose points), or they won't count it as CRV gets added to the merchant code which I think they've started coding as ineligible for points.

    Thank you for the video, I found out that investing is not for everybody, you just need a strong stomach too see your portfolio go down. It might be wiser for a novice to start with copy trading investing, but it is not easy. To invest in growth stocks it is another level, definitely you need to know what are you doing.

      From my own point of view, you need to invest smartly if you need the good things of life. so far i've made over $255k in raw profits from just 6 months into the market from my diversified portfolio strategy and i believe anyone can do it you have the right strategy, mutual funds takes long time but investing smartly is the key for short term. Most of us tend to pay more attention to the shiniest position in the market to the cost of proper diversification.

    I have the freedom unlimited for my ‘catch all’ cash back card. For a no annual fee card, it’s solid. Obviously there are better cards out there for dining or groceries or 2% CB… but for an early Chase card and the rewards it has - it’s been one of my most used cards. Plus like you mentioned you don’t have to just redeem for cash back, you can use the points and transfer to partners etc. 10/10 would recommend for any “beginner” or honestly everyone for a solid no annual fee card. Great reviews John!👏👏

      By using the Freedom Unlimited for 1.5x UR points instead of a 2% cashback card, you're essentially "buying" Chase UR points at 1.33 cpp. Don't settle for anything less, otherwise you're losing out.

      I find 2% and category spend cards all the same (more or less) in the long run. My biggest gripe though is the options YOU have as a user to redeem those cashback points or cash AND the online/app experience. CHASE has a great Mobile/Online Banking experience and is my favorite one out there. But I'm curious @johnfinancetips, what's the app experience like for Wells Fargo, Capital One, etc?

    John, GREATLY appreciate your videos. I have a couple questions. I've been rebuilding. 1) What advice would you have for those cards I used to rebuild with, but really don't have much value going forward (specifically an Ollo MC and a Wells Fargo Visa)? 2) Do you have advice on how to use those (if I keep them), so they would continue to benefit my credit score? Thank you for your time!

    • @johnsfinancetips
      @johnsfinancetips  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for question, honestly if you're at the rebuilding phase I wouldn't worry about any benefits other than getting accepted for a card and having them report positive data. I find the bells and whistles can get a bit distracting. So as long as there are no horrendous fees I would jump on an of those cards or secured cards to get the ball rolling. After a while once your score starts ticking in right direction then come back to think about cards with more elevated earnings. Hope that helps! and best of luck
