Great video very helpful, I've recently had the 5mp colorVu cameras installed but have Issues with image quality at night on people moving, Get a ghosting effect, any ideas on how to get over this?
Hi , there are some settings that can effect this , H.265+ is a common one, so use H.265 only , exposure setting on image can be adjusted to suit also , its default is 1/12 normally but you can try adjusting this by calling pre-set 95 on the PTZ control to access the camera OSD menu , or press menu button on the PTZ onscreen controller. Past this we would need to look more closely at it
Thanks for the videos, I'm really enjoying learning about the cameras and your business. I'm curious, why do you use Hikvision branded equipment as opposed to the OEM equipment?
@@DVSLTD I spoke with Hikvision rep for our area. According to this person. The OEMs are supposedly not provided the latest firmware on the equipment so they will be several revisions behind. Ok, Hik here, Hik there, but, how do you stop false alarm on day/night change from grey to color and color to grey? Thanks for the feedback andrew and yes we are working towards this function hopefully very soon, we do have a product called AcuSense that does this now but it the night time image is not as good , but still amazing , thanks for the kind comment 😊
Any cameras should do what you're looking for but I'd reccomend either the darkfighter range/colourvu range for better image quality at night! 2 Megapixels all the way to 8 Megapixels (4K) and make sure you get your equipment from an installer who uses DVS!
Hi Sam , on the ColourVu model the light comes on when its dark or via the programmed time, it doesn’t yet activate on motion, the AcuSense has the deterrent side if that’s any Good

Hello, i could need some help. Is light always on when its dark, or is it activated trough dvr linkage. Can it be set, so the led turns on only when recording, warning during night?
Really unsure whether to go for ColourVu or Darkfighter cameras.... 1) ClourVu only comes in 4mp, the dark fighter comes in 8mp - the 4K resolution make the darkfighter more future proof - I’m worried the 4mp colourvu won’t be high enough resolution 2) I’ve read issues with the colourvu Which one would you recommend?
Current format is colorvu is 4MP , we hope to get higher Res soon , there is 8MP Powered by Dark fighter , the 8MP 5 line is not technically classed as Dark fighter but still good performance, I do prefer the colorvu myself , but guess its down to personal choice and if the 4MP is high enough image quality , the 8M Powered by Dark fighter is also amazing quality and good all-around image day and night 😊
I’d be interested to know that also. Great video. Appreciate you doing that when you’re well. I’m in Australia so I hope the colorvu is available here also?
I have a Gen 1 colorvu. Auto for the external doesn’t seem to work for me (so I schedule it) and also, faces are completely washed out when folks are at all close. Anyone else have this issue?
it could be down to the function under image and light settings for the smart light control being off , having it on will adjust the light level and prevent that issue
it would struggle with headlights due to the exposure level , you could increase the exposure but it would defeat the idea of colourvu image , whereas we do the ANPR dedicated camera
Hi, HIK don’t make the covert IR model for standard use just for special case as it reduces the IR distance quite a bit so the overall image can be effected , but they can be made on Request by HIK if you have the quantity

Hi David, you can but it would depend on this distance, if using on playback realistically you may get 10-15mtrs distance from camera, for plate capture specifically I would recommend using our ANPR camera range
For me its ColorVu where you can get away with lighting or white light , if no supplement light and white light is not appropriate then , darkfighter 😊
@@Kliptrech26Rg001 Yes and no , darkfighter has IR for low light conditions and colourvu has whitelight for low light conditions if needed , colourvu image performance is better with supplement light either around or from camera 😊
Funny, but this 4MP *expensive* camera (with ColorVU!) gives me not a pixel more details, than I have with just 2MP. Face even at 5m already not recognizable. So this cam is helpful only if you just wanna see "OK, some man approaching my place". For this function cheapest 2MP cam will be enough.
it would depend on the camera resolution and frame rate as well as retention period to work out the HDD , you can use the online calculator here tools.hikvision.com/calculatorTool/index.html

My main concern is the External Device menu as I have 4 ColorVu cameras and I cannot access the LED light menu
I have updated to the latest Firmware V3.4.108 Build 200102
Would greatly appreciate any help
Thanks
Hi and thanks for the feedback , are you using Internet explorer ? if not can you try that
great video, have you heard of any issues with the 4mp colorvu. i was looking to getting these installed but my installer said his supplier were getting quite a few returns on the 4mp cameras & they had withdrawn them from sale but not the 2mp cameras? thanks
Hi Daitech, love the video as always. Quick question though, if you forced the camera into day mode no white light how would it fare showing a number plate with only ambient lighting? Has this been tested?
Hi mike and thanks for the feedback , regards the Number plate it does show the plate , I will do a quick video on it next week if you like to show its performance ?
Great video very helpful, I've recently had the 5mp colorVu cameras installed but have Issues with image quality at night on people moving, Get a ghosting effect, any ideas on how to get over this?
Hi , there are some settings that can effect this , H.265+ is a common one, so use H.265 only , exposure setting on image can be adjusted to suit also , its default is 1/12 normally but you can try adjusting this by calling pre-set 95 on the PTZ control to access the camera OSD menu , or press menu button on the PTZ onscreen controller. Past this we would need to look more closely at it
Chris, I have also experienced the same - any movement renders the footage unuseable - did changing the setting help?
Is this the 2mp or 5mp
Great video, can you use the line crossing detection with this camera so the white light comes on if someone enters the area marked out?
Hi and thanks , currently not as that is what the Acusense model does but it’s been looked at all the same
@@DVSLTD thanks for the reply. If you can let me know if that changes I would really appreciate it.
Thanks for the videos, I'm really enjoying learning about the cameras and your business. I'm curious, why do you use Hikvision branded equipment as opposed to the OEM equipment?
Hi and thanks for the feedback , OEM is not as popular in the UK , most want main brand , they provide better support and a wider product choice 😊
@@DVSLTD I spoke with Hikvision rep for our area. According to this person. The OEMs are supposedly not provided the latest firmware on the equipment so they will be several revisions behind. I don't know how true this is as I have not stopped to look at that. However I did ask about a OEM K2 DVR being sold by one of the dist here. He told me that was running ver 4.20.000 build 181107.
Dear sir,
Kindly suggest me how i can on led lights in DS-2CD2T47G3-L.
I didn't find option to led lights on at night time .
that’s not a model we sell in the UK but the option should be under camera web and image settings 😊
@@DVSLTD Thank you sir 😊
Loved the cat walk. Nice features of the camera
Ha thanks Rashid , I try my best 😊 hoping to get a modelling contract
Ok, Hik here, Hik there, but, how do you stop false alarm on day/night change from grey to color and color to grey? I mean, if they triggers the alarm on false movement when there is no one around, then these cameras aren't really the best, right?
Also, you're moving quite smooth in this video. Is the camera a 60fps?
Mick , there are different technologies for different applications, we do the Deep in mind product for false alarm reduction , AcuSense Product or products with very good images, you seem very negative
@@DVSLTD
I can't be negative after a month since o purchased this product. You put yourself in my shoes, see how that feel after buying this rubbish that isn't even user friendly. Why on earth would there be an alarm for changing ambient light of the day? That it changes from daylight and to grey in the evening, why is there an alarm for that? Negative, yeah?
Hi I have just had these installed, they are very good but I want to be able to turn off the LED light as it stays on through the night, I do not seem to have the option in my web browser on the configuration tab for external device as you have to be able to toggle on and off. Any ideas why I don’t have this tab available?
Hello, why does my hilook colorvu jump around, loose picture at night with night light on. In the day it’s fine
hello, does hikvision make a wall mount for the colourvu?
Yes you can see on each spec sheet the bracket options if needed
If the white light came on with motion I would buy them now. No good for my house since it would be permanently on in front and back garden and annoy neighbours. Great videos and information though. Keep up good work.
Thanks for the feedback andrew and yes we are working towards this function hopefully very soon, we do have a product called AcuSense that does this now but it the night time image is not as good , but still amazing , thanks for the kind comment 😊
@@DVSLTD any news?
hi, I'm about to get an alcohol license and I need a camera for outdoor that is able to record 1 month of video what do you recommend?
Any cameras should do what you're looking for but I'd reccomend either the darkfighter range/colourvu range for better image quality at night! 2 Megapixels all the way to 8 Megapixels (4K) and make sure you get your equipment from an installer who uses DVS!
great video. Does the LED auto setting switch it on when it detects motion? what's your preference? cheers
Hi Sam , on the ColourVu model the light comes on when its dark or via the programmed time, it doesn’t yet activate on motion, the AcuSense has the deterrent side if that’s any Good
@@DVSLTD so it shines all night long? what if I want it to turn the light on only when someone is moving, like regular light with motion sensor? Impossible? Or I need colorvu without light (or turned off light) + separate 220v led light + motion pir sensor?)
@@vigilantspb Hi , currently its on / off not activated by the camera VCA as we have the AcuSense model that has the deterrent light, you could use the VCA , trigger the output on NVR and then control a light relay yes
@@DVSLTD the problem is I have no NVR)
@@vigilantspb Ah I see , we can’t make the light trigger on camera for Vca currently sorry
What's the settings that get the most out of the camera 📸😊
the best would be to have the white light on and have the exposure at 1/12 , 😊
@@DVSLTD do you mean 1/25 ? . That's as low has it will go
@@seekeroftruth0665 it will go lower that that , have you tried to adjust it ?
@@DVSLTD yes ,via the browser in the General tab the lowest is 1/25
Found out it's because I had WDR on ,once I had turned that off the oxposure settings went lower 👍
Hi, great video, can you confirm that to work in an area of almost complete darkness the supplemental light is on permanently at night or on a time setting and it isn't activated with motion detection by the camera ?
I can confirm current option is on permanently at night (sensitivity adjustable) or time based but no motion activation. P.S brilliant camera btw
Hi and thanks, if completely dark then image without white light may be not the best , the light will come on when darkness level is low enough when on auto OR on time schedule you can set, currently cant set it to be motion activated but working on it
@@DVSLTD Hi, any changes in firmware lately that allows the supplemental light to only come on under motion at night?
@@TrevDaDev47 on the G2 model latest there is going to be a firmware shortly to allow this function yes
@@DVSLTD Thanks for the response. How would you know if a camera is a generation 2 model when ordering online? The Hikvision website does not say...
Just literally installed the cameras but I would like to turn the led light off . I've tried going into my hikvision DVR setting box but I can't seem to suss it out any help would be great . Thank you jalani
Hi if you login to the camera directly via its IP and go to configuration, then you will see under > system settings > External Device> LED settings 😊
@@DVSLTD hey, I cant find the Externel Device option. All my cams have ColorVu but I dont have the possibility to do anything with them. Ive logged into it via the IP Adress of my receiver.
Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks in advance!
Are your cameras ip cameras or analog? I have analog colorvu and you can't alter the bright light on the analog cameras. It's on at dark and that's it.
@@01msj01 I've had to log into the cams via their own ips. It all worked out, thanks you regardless!
Would not be bad ad all if the bullet had an inbuilt mic option as well... pity that the turret can't be used outside (a dome would also do the trick, with mic 😊). Thanks for the detailed videos!!
Thanks for the feedback , the colourvu turret can be used outside and also has a mic part number DS-2CD2347G1-LU 😊 the AcuSense Turret with flashing light and audio cant be used outside
@@DVSLTD Thanks for the clarification!! In fact, it was not advertised as the bullet in the highlighted features, just by digging deeper in the specs with the comparison tool (speaking for online website).
Will definitely try it then and hope for a bullet with mic.
Hello, i could need some help. Is light always on when its dark, or is it activated trough dvr linkage. Can it be set, so the led turns on only when recording, warning during night?
Is there any model in this range that is smaller in size, thanks mike
We have the turret which is quite small and the new 20 bullet camera
Just two words - Thank you :-)
Thanks Craig 😊
Really unsure whether to go for ColourVu or Darkfighter cameras....
1) ClourVu only comes in 4mp, the dark fighter comes in 8mp - the 4K resolution make the darkfighter more future proof - I’m worried the 4mp colourvu won’t be high enough resolution
2) I’ve read issues with the colourvu
Which one would you recommend?
Current format is colorvu is 4MP , we hope to get higher Res soon , there is 8MP Powered by Dark fighter , the 8MP 5 line is not technically classed as Dark fighter but still good performance, I do prefer the colorvu myself , but guess its down to personal choice and if the 4MP is high enough image quality , the 8M Powered by Dark fighter is also amazing quality and good all-around image day and night 😊
@@DVSLTD thanks for the reply! Do you know when the 8mp colour vu is coming out?
I’d be interested to know that also. Great video. Appreciate you doing that when you’re well. I’m in Australia so I hope the colorvu is available here also?
@@rtang3571 Not sure on exact date but hopefully very soon , chasing it
Great video 👍
Thanks buddy 😊
Another great video. Thats some dedication going in that early for a video :).... Is DVS your company?
Thank you , I love the help we provide so it keeps me going , I wish it was my company but I don’t own it , I one day hoping I will get an in 😊
Thanks Dave greet video
is 4mp the highest you can get for a colourvu or darkfighter?
4MP colorvu currently , 8MP darkfighter 😊
Can you get a wall bracket for these
Why womt ot give me thw optin for external device..it only shows vca resource and metadata settinga when trying to change light brightness
I’ve got this problem. Did you fix it?
Does it work with a non hikvision dvr?
Yes tech is built in to camera
I have a Gen 1 colorvu. Auto for the external doesn’t seem to work for me (so I schedule it) and also, faces are completely washed out when folks are at all close. Anyone else have this issue?
it could be down to the function under image and light settings for the smart light control being off , having it on will adjust the light level and prevent that issue
Can the camera view car number plates in the dark and with car headlights on?
it would struggle with headlights due to the exposure level , you could increase the exposure but it would defeat the idea of colourvu image , whereas we do the ANPR dedicated camera
I bought these cameras but can’t get the microphones to work? It keeps saying audio failed.
DAI TECH I HAVE A HIKVISON NRV RECORDER 16CH CARNT FIND THE WHITE LIGHT SETTINGS
please login to the IP camera direct where the setting can be found 😊

Is the white light IR light or visual light?
Hi on colorvu its visible 😊
could this test be done in an area with no external lighting at night?

Just had mine fitted today and didnt no there was a light in them good to no you can actually turn these off 👍
Any Ip camera that the LEDs in the dark go unnoticed by the human eye and is not detectable?
Hi, HIK don’t make the covert IR model for standard use just for special case as it reduces the IR distance quite a bit so the overall image can be effected , but they can be made on Request by HIK if you have the quantity
Usefull thanks
•Do u have colorvu with audio?
•i have pir light...so if i have colorvu camera & then an intruder comes will it interupt the colorvu?
•because i have pir light maybe i don't need colorvu
im in 2mind's to get colorvu or not
ColourVu is amazing image Quality , we have the turret with built in mic for audio recording but not audio warning ☹ part number DS-2CD2347G1-LU
@@DVSLTD if i put 1 of these inside the Porch facing the garden will it work? ....or will porch windows cause problems?
is the a special camera for inside porch? that wont disrupt from facing thru windows
@@razakmanify You will probably find the porch glass will cause an issue when its raining etc for sure , the whitelight would cause issues also , could you not install it outside the porch area?
Nice video....
Can you zoom in and read a license plate with this camera .
Hi David, you can but it would depend on this distance, if using on playback realistically you may get 10-15mtrs distance from camera, for plate capture specifically I would recommend using our ANPR camera range
I want this cap...
Cool thanks
So what's the answer......colourVu or darkfighter?
For me its ColorVu where you can get away with lighting or white light , if no supplement light and white light is not appropriate then , darkfighter 😊
Is darkfighter for places without lighting?
and colorvu is for places with poor lighting or good lighting right?
@@Kliptrech26Rg001 Yes and no , darkfighter has IR for low light conditions and colourvu has whitelight for low light conditions if needed , colourvu image performance is better with supplement light either around or from camera 😊
Funny, but this 4MP *expensive* camera (with ColorVU!) gives me not a pixel more details, than I have with just 2MP. Face even at 5m already not recognizable. So this cam is helpful only if you just wanna see "OK, some man approaching my place". For this function cheapest 2MP cam will be enough.
In this video, you can see the light turn on when moving.

cool i live in Northern Ireland need a ptz and wide-view front and back watt HDD would i use for that with good cameras...
