Great comparison video! Obviously the Yamaha DXR12 wins hands down, but it's also twice the price as the others. The Kustom KDA50 gets my vote. Think i'll buy one! Thanks
The Yamaha DXR12 is clearly in a class of it's own, but then at £600 so it should be! The Box MA120 is in my price bracket and sounds really good, apart from the lack of low end on the kick drum. The Box Mon A15 sounds better than the MA120 with more low end from it's 15" driver, but I can live with the MA120 for it's price! I was genuinely shocked at how poor the Roland amps sound from one of the leading E drum manufacturers! Great comparison video! I don't suppose you have any experience of the Behringer F1220D do you? Only I'm now wondering how that would compare to the similar priced MA120, both from Thomann's.
The problem with this is we have no idea what the straight drums are supposed to sound like (would have been uses full to record the drum sounds direct so one could compare to the amplified version) , so how can you make a decision?
you’ve plugged just one cable into the Millenium DM-30 even if it has stereo output, it’s because your kit has only a mono output or it would’ve been the same given the monitor has just one speaker?
I have question about the box ma120. Did you just plug in cable from your drum module to the box ? Or maybe there is some mixer, amplifier or other device between the drum module and the monitor? I heard opinion that this monitor has a very low volume when you plug it directly to drums.
For me, i prefer The box MA 120. I like it. I have a Roland v drum and i was thinking about roland pm but now i know that its sound is poor. I dont like. Thanks for this comparation.
Better late than never: I assume it's an availability thing. The box is a house brand of Thomann, so I'm guessing he is from Germany/Europe. Simmons is hard to find here, I haven't seen a single store who carries them.
was watching other roland drum monitor videos and thought the sound is just aight but then heard the comparisons you just saved me money from buying this expensive roland.
The professional e-drumming community is starting from a VERY LOW BAR when it comes to monitoring. DXR12 kills 'em. Having said that, 1. Very few here are PURPOSE BUILT e-drum monitors. 2. The Yammy is a proven multi application PA design..."re-tasked" as an e drum monitor. Far too many cheap, low=spec plastic wedges are being flogged off as "e-drum monitors". 3. You cannot get a great, round, warm, sternum-punch tone out of CHINESE PLASTIC!! 4. The professional e-drumming community continues to be ripped off. Why spend $4,000 or $7,000 on a great e-drum kit with massive processing/EQ power, and then add something that comes out of a Chinese factory for USD$30 or $90? I certainly aim to do something about this. Cheers people.

Thank you for that! I'm amazed how the Box MA120 MKII is so similar to the Yamaha DXR12 that is like 3-4 times expensive!
yeeeeees!

I was just looking to buy the Roland PM-03. Then I heard this...
I'm split between the Kustom, the Yamaha and The Box MA120 .
Thanks for the heads up.

Cool comparison but no bass drum sound?
I just ordered the MA 120 MK II 10 minutes ago
let us know if it meets your expectations
@@lionsmusic004 I guess we'll never know
The Box Ma120 MKII is pretty good! After making the middles a bit louder, it's gonna be fine!
Thank you for this. Helped me make up my mind.
Besides the Yamaha DXR12 the Kustom KDA50 sounded the best for me.
Did not like the Kustom
Kombiice same

You can plug directly.
the box mon 15 is my favourite other than the dxr12

Thanks for this comparation.
^Hey! Do you have the MA120 now?
Check out the line-in of the PM-10. It sounds way better than the drum-in ;)
How do you connect the box MA120 MKII? Is it jack on the drums and xlr on the box MA120? Thanks
Is he box ma120mk2 good also as a standard pa for music playback and guitar sim for example ?
Roland PM10 personally. Less bass but more clarity with the treble.
Is the box 120 MK2 ok for roland axsynth ?
Hi can someone tell me if carlsbro EDA50 sound good??
has anyone noticed the kick pedal has an invisible kick tower?
@Callum Lyons yeah ikr like how's that working.
Obviously The Yamaha Wins This Comparison Video
Why no Simmons ?
